Is it me, or can this forum be a bit hard to search? (using "" or AND doesn't work??) I KNOW I've seen more than one topic on this but I cant find it for the life of me and I'm not getting refined results.
Just encountered that problem where the Wizard suddenly makes a new Storage Card folder and renames the original one "Storage Card2". The new folder has 2 folders to hold mail attachments and a folder for PIE History.
I can see and use all for the files on the Storage Card2 (all of my movies and music and what not) but the associated programs are now looking for them in the new Storage Card folder.
How can I revert this? I can't delete the new and rename the original with the device docked. Getting sharing violation errors..
Anyone have this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Ok so I fixed it....
I took out my SD card.
From File Explorer on the device, I was able to rename the "Storage Card" that was on the Device to "Old". If you now try to delete it, you'll still get a cannot delete Index error.
I did a soft reset and was then able to delete the "Old" folder. I got "system fil" warnings, but it allowed me to delete the whole folder.
I then inserted my SD card, which immediately showed up as "Storage Card", the way it's supposed to.
My programs are now looking for their files on "Storage Card" and finding them there.
If anyone knows why this happens, feel free to pitch in....
I found that this occurred with me if I did any hacks to put internet explorer temp files, Omega One's Journal Bar files or email attachments to the storage card. I expect is was one of the first two that does it on start up and it was rather upsetting at first until you firgure out what to do about it. I've since unapplied those hacks and it hasn't happened again.

Friends,
I have searched through the threads and WIKI to try to find a way to get rid of the problem where when you are running programs from your storage card and use more than one, somehow the device starts to register the primary storage card as being on the device, and then treats the actual storage card as Storage Card 2. It's a big problem for me because now none of my programs from the storage card will run from what has now been relabelled "Storage Card 2" on the device. It seems to have something to do with the way the Microsoft programs automatically store to a card for Email and Internet explorer cookies.
I found the following procedure in the WIKI and tried to follow it, but I'm obviously not doing it right. It would probably be very helpful if I understood registry editing better, but I'm not sure what the exact pathnames are that I should follow to make the changes and follow the procedure below. Someone with more computer background would probably "just know." Specifically, how do I get to the IEM that is referred to below?
I would really be grateful if somehow who gets this could patiently explain exactly how to get into the right area of the registry. I don't want to screw up my device.
Thanks.

Here are the instructions. I just need help being told how to find the IEM reg hack location referred to below, so I know what to change to "test."
--------------------------------------------------------------
If you are seeing Storage Card and Storage Card2 in your File Explorer, follow these steps to fix the problem:
1. Went into Messages-Menu-Tools-Options-Storage and unclicked 'Store attachments on storage card'.
2. Opened a Total Commander (or any other ?RegEdit Tool) and changed the IEM reg hack entires. In the cookies, cookies and history keys, I changed 'Storage Card' to 'test'.
3. Opened IE so that 'test' will be created in the root directory of the Mobile Device.
4. Soft reset.
5. Opened file explorer and deleted Storage Card from the root directory of the Mobile Device.
6. Soft reset. When rebooted, Storage Card 2 should be Storage Card.
7. Opened a Total Commander (or any other ?RegEdit Tool) and changed the IEM reg hack entires. In the cookies, cookies and history keys, I changed 'test' back to 'Storage Card'.
8. Deleted the IEM folder from Storage Card. (Didn't know if this was necessary but felt that it couldn't hurt).
9. Opened IE to create IEM on Storage Card.
10. Soft rest.
11. Deleted 'Test' from the root directory of the Mobile Device.
12. Performed the Reg Hack in this thread.
13. Sent the message attachments back to Storage Card.[/i][/i][/i]
easier Way to do this
Folks,
I found an easier way to do this. You can simply rename the "Storage Card" file in Internet Explorer and the device will then read the real storage card as "Storage Card" instead of "Storage Card 2." Of course, I am now stuck with a folder named "test" that I can't delete because it has a bunch of "index" system files in it. But so far, this seems like it fixed my major frustration.
If anyone wants to talk me through how to delete the new "test" file to get rid of the indexes, I would welcome that.
Thanks.
I'm not sure how or why, but all of a sudden the pictures in the picture tab stopped showing up.
Checked file manager to see that the files were ok, and they opened fine. However I now have two folders:
"Storagecard" which just seems to contain a few files from gAlarm.
"Storagecard2" which is my actual storage card with all my pictures and videos and music.
It wouldnt be a huge problem if not for the fact that the photo tab only allows you to look for pics in "my device" and "storage card"
I've tried to rename the folders, but it wont let me change "storagecard2"
Please can anyone help?

Click to collapse
delete the storage card folder and soft-reset and everything should be sorted. you may, however, have to reinstall gAlarm.
Oddly this happened to me two nights ago out of the blue. Solved it by booting without the memory card in, deleting the folder then rebooting with the memory card back in.
It happens because during USB-mode the SDCard cannot be found by Winmobile, and if a program during that phase needs to save something to SDCard the system will write a new Storage Card folder, and rename the original one to "....2". For that reason I do not use USB mode for PC connections.
Hello everyone,
I'm using French Sunrise rom from Miammiam, posted also on this forum.
And since the last version 2.1 my storage card is always renamed storage card 2 after a soft reset.
I never had this problem with my previous rom Sunrise 1.4, didn't have this problem, but I already encounter this issue on some other rom like Leo rom's, and miri's.
I already tried everything I found on this forum or using google.
As informations I didn't change IE cache path, I'm just storing my emails on the storage card.
I hope some one can help me.
Best regards,

I think that you have a hiden folder called "Storage card" on the root of your device.
rename this folder o delete it then every thing will be right.
Hello,
Thank's for your answer but Event if I delete the newly created folder then soft reset the phone, it change nothing my storage card is again named "Storage card 2".
There is no hidden folder, on the root of my phone I checked it with total commander.
On the other hand after deleting the newly created foler called "storage card" then ejecting my sd card and inserting back the card is again called " Sorage card" but after a soft reset it's again called "storage card 2".
In anyway thank you for your reply.

Try using Resco File Explorer and define there that you want to see hidden (system) files. You may locate an original directory with that name.
I had this problem twice. I my case this problem was probably due to starting up TomTom when connected by USB with my computer.
hey if it aint broke dont fix it...
Hello everyone,
I recently experienced the battery issue where the SD card drained the power and you could almost see the power level count down before your eyes.
So, following the advice on XDA posts, I tried removing my SD card, cleaned it up and then reformatted it (in the phone) which fixed the problem (thanks to all who spotted that fix, it’s an excellent tip). I then transferred all my files back on it.
However, now when I download files from the internet and I select to save it to the Storage Card, my ‘My Documents’ folder no longer appears in the list on the Storage Card, all I can see is the CoPilot folder and sub-folders.
How can I get it back to the My Documents folder that appears?
Am I missing something simple here?
Any help here would be great, thank you in advance.
(PS: I tried searching for this response on XDA but didn’t find it reported, sorry it is has already been covered.)
maybe just create a new "my documents" folder on the sd card.......
ANdroid 6.0.1 S7Edge
Geezuz....this shouldnt require a post to figure out, but.....
Because my good ol' KeepassDroid password app cannot write to a database file on the SD, I must move/copy the database file FROM the sd TO the internal phone storage when I get a new phone..
I plug the phone into the PC.
On the phone I drag down to notifications, select the USB Charging notification, change to "File Transfer"
Now the PC can see CARD and PHONE
I copy the file from the CARD to the PHONE
Disconnect.
On the phone I open my KeepassDroid app, navigate to tell it where the new database file is, and......
....wait for it.....
It shows up ON THE SD CARD
In anticipation of some of your well-meaning responses let me assure you that:
- I'm POSITIVE I'm looking at the file I JUST COPIED to PHONE and not the original file from SD ( I even renamed it in the PHONE location to ensure I wasnt screwin' the pooch there)
-I DO NOT want to get a NEW app because I don't want to re-enter dozens/hundreds of entries.
Its almost as thought Android 6.0.1 is allocating CARD space as "internal storage" space to "help" us stupid phone-users along (to which I say "stop helping")
Any sage advice?
