I am trying to download the new ROM update from the my-xda website however after inserting my IMEI number and proceeding I am getting an error message saying page not found. Can anyone find out if this a problem restricted to my problem or if it's an O2 server problem.
Thanks
Just go here it skips the IMEI and Number checks...

Hello everyone! I really, really hope you can help me!
I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact. I was upgrading the ROM version tonight to the latest version (blackberry version) My MDA would appear to have crashed mid-way through the upgrade. The upgrade software told me to reset the device and try the upgrade again. So I reset the device.. all I get on the screen is "USB V1" and when I select the new rom file I get an error which says "Error 120: Country ID Error N-N-38-38-38" The ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work on your device. Please check the vender Website and download the correct ROM update.
This is the correct ROM update. I'm using a T-Mobile branded handset the update is definitely a T-Mobile update. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? is there another update or even a completely new ROM version I can use to get my phone working again? It's the only phone I've got and I urgently need it for work
Thanks, Tom :?
OK so now it loads up and gets as far as 'loading config txt' and then it just sits there. Again I try the rom update but I'm told ROM is wrong for my device.
Hi Tom,
Use maupgradenoid.exe or a simular named program from the ftp over here. Maybe you have to run it twice to bypass your error. Use the program instead of the, probably named maupgrade, .exe which you get when you unzip your shipped rom. No need to zip it again, just unzip into an empty folder put the maupgradenoid.exe in the same folder. Put your device in bootloader (camera & power & soft-reset until it reads serial v1) connect it to usb, now it reads usb v1 & run this noid.exe.
Good luck, M
Ps. sometimes you need to add or change a line in config.txt, you can find that in one of the latest posts by parklife in
the thread about the official TMO 1.13 rom

Incase you upgraded to a new T-Mobile ROM, i think you can take it to the T-Mobile store for fixing.
Perfect!! That seems to have worked!! Thank you!!!
THANKS
I had the same problem and I follow your instruction and it'goes perfectly fine.... My phone is now alive again
THANKSSSSSSSSS
I recently bought an SD-502 receiver for my XDAII and have no end of trouble since. I was hesitant to buy it given the compatibility problems but latest compatibility lists say that it has been tested and works. Long story short, COM 7: which is supposed to be assigned to GPSUART as per GPS PPC websites is absent and I cannot find any way to add it. I have upgrade from WM2003 1.60 to 1.72 and there was no change.
Further to this, I have downloaded the WM2005 upgrade in the hope that It would recognize the device but now I can't load any version of WM withouth the Himaupgrad.exe saying that there was 'a problem during upgrade'.
Thanks to anyone who chooses to help.
Can you be more specific about this 'problem during upgrade'?
That's what Himaupgrad.exe calls it... verifies the ID of the pda and then you click yes to upgrade and it goes to the screen where it clears the current rom and loads the 3 new ones and instead of doing that, after about 30 secs it just says there was a problem during upgrade and says to soft start the pda, which I have tried with no success. I have tried many combinations of Radio, Ex Rom and Rom without luck. I have even tried the original upgrade package that is already on there which I downloaded from the UK o2 site and that gives the same error. So I figure it is something to do with the PDA not the upgrades.
Again, any help is much appreciated!
Thanks jamil
Not being a pc/phone buff I wondered if any of you guys can help me?
I bought a Vodafone V1640 that had O2 software on it. Firstly is this ok? Should it have had Vodafone software on it? Second, I sold the phone on eBay beause it did not match my needs or critera and now the person that bought it is saying there is a ROM error showing and that I had originally bought a duff phone. This I cannot understand, as when I received the phone, I charged it and made sure that it was in perfect working ordered. This was over a peroid of about 2-3 hours and no error showed on the phone what so ever. It actually came sealed as if it had come straight from Vodafone as an upgrade maybe.
I cannot understand why this error messgae is now showing and upon asking an IT collegue at work he has suggested that this person had maybe tried to load new software on to the phone therefore the ROM error being apparent.
Does anyone have any idea why the phone may only now be showing this error? I can assure you all that I did nothing to the phone as it was only out of the box for a few hours before I decided that it wasn't for me.
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.
what error is showing.
i have a vodafone unit, but have flashed various roms without problems.
i am currently on the latest i-mate.

Hi Steve
Thanks for replying.
I've got no idea what kind of ROM error is showing on the item as it is no longer in my possession. I am trying to contact my eBay buyer to find out exactly what message is showing and when.
What exactly is a ROM error anyway? As I stated previously, the phone was on for btween 2-3 hours and showed no signs of soft/hard ware damage. How do Rom error's occur?
Sorry to sound so vague and amateurish!!
I am no expert and have only been playing with these things for 9 months, but the only time I have ever seen ROM error is when i have been trying to flash a different ROM to my device, e.g the imate version to my vodafone machine.
Ask him what he did, what the error says and what he can see on the screen.Read the guide to installing a ROM and you can see what happens.
ROMs for specific versions such as imate will not flash to others such as vodafone unless you use a specific .exe file (the no id upgrade one).
If you try you will get an error, and sometimes you can get the machine up and running, other times you get a brick which can take time to get back to life.

I own a universal o2 xda exec purchased from uk. It has been working greatly for about 8 month (on another SIM provider) without any troubles.
Suddenly it receives no signal, the phone doesn't seem to see the SIM, I can't enen access the phone settings.
After performing a soft reset I checked the device information and found that radio version & protocol version are BLANCK noyhing is written, also the IMEI number doesn't exist, nothing is written.
I tried to install a new ROM but it didn't work, I got an error message about my ROM image that is not compatible with my country code!!!!!!
I've been advised to reinstall the WM5????
Please advise.

did u try hard resetting the phone? try installing the rom with a RUU with no_ID
have a look on this page, this may give you additional info;
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Universal
Can you briefly describe how you did the ROM reinstallation (names of the files you opened, source, etc.)? You shouldn't be seeing the country code error message with the NO_ID installer.
have a look on this link;
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Instructions for those with Country Code error
You mentioned something about a problem with the radio stack. I tryed to install a No_ID rom and the system stopped at the radio stack update step.
So is it a hardware that has to be changed or exactly what?
and what has the radio stack to do with the IMEI no not appearing.
Sorry for disturbance but I 'm seeking any help
Okay, i tried to flash my O2 XDA II with a WM2005 ROM yesterday.
Flashing it went without a hitch and it was all working fine, until someone from my MSN Contact List told me that he sent me an SMS and was asking why i didn't respond.
I told the person to send me that Message again, and after about a Minute i received a notification that there are unread Messages for me.
I click on the unread Messages with my Stylus, i'm taken to the Inbox for Textmessages, and there is NOTHING there... i double-checked the SMS-Settings to make sure that the Number for the Message Center is correct, and it was... but SMS where nowhere to be seen.
After i reflashed the XDA II with the original 1.72 Update from O2 again, i could also receive SMS again.
What did i do wrong ?
Should i have flashed a new Radio Version too, or was there something else i was missing ?
The ROM i used is called "XDA_WM5_3.50aWWE" and it was linked here in some other Thread for XDA II.
did you verify that the setting text message service center is the same on both roms
you can get to the setting using settings->phone->services-voice mail and text messages
yep, they were exactly the same, i also looked up the Number for the Message Center on the Web for my Provider, which is E-Plus Germany just to make sure.
I did not flash a new Radio ROM while flashing my Hima to WM2005, should i have done that ? and if yes: which one ?
donno i went to 1.19 when i moved to wm5 and now wm6
havent had any issues
people also report equaly good results with 1.18 and others
well, maybe i'll try that some other time... right now i'm not in the mood of flashing my Hima again
the thing that bugs me though... do i have to set anything in the Radio ROM File before flashing it to my mobile, or can i just go the usual way with the NoID-Flash Utility ?
no radio flash is just like a normal flash but with no rom file
a radio flash is don at the same flash as a rom flash if both files are present
thought so... i just had no incentive to update the Radio as i saw in some signatures here and on Buzzdev that People ran WM2005 with Radio 1.17.
