Reverted to shipped ROM now no sound... - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I did a BIGROM hack a while ago but have had lots of problems including random reboots, the stylus not working properly despite numerous screen calibrations etc.
I searched on Google for the latest T-Mobile UK ROM and found MA_TMUK_11300_128_11200_Ship.exe.
The ROM appeared to install properly but I now have no sound. Nothing from the speakers and nothing from the earpiece.
Can anyone offer any advice or share similar experiences?
Edit : Just plugged in the headphones and they work :?

Have you tried a hard-reset, this solved my simular sound prob. this weekend. I didn't update my rom, but go for it what can you lose besides data. A second rom-update might fix it too, when hard-reset fails.

Ringtones

Hi folks
I upgraded the wallaby. everything works fine excpt i've got two problems:
1. most of the ringtones doesn't play well after upgrade, except the original builtin ringtones. Dose upgrading have anything to do with this? How can I solve it?
2. I can not have a good signal receiption while i did not upgrade the radio part. why should this happen?
Thakning you in advance for your concern.
If you mean they play a bit jumpy I had this after my last Rom upgrade, all Audio and Video was the same. Could not sort it, Had to do a hard Reset the other day as a result of a dodgy CAB install and this cured it
I have done hard reset for lots of time having no success.
which cab file you think i should install to fix this?

External speaker won't stop.

I just installed Molski's newest ROM. It is amazing. I one bug that I can not figure out. When I plug in my headset the external speaker continues to play sound. This is very frustrating. Please if any one could help it would be awesome. Thanks erik.

I had the same problem once. In the end for me it turned out in a hard reset to solve the problem. This after I found it was no hardware problem. Since then it never occured again.
I have had this problem too, it appears that its a driver problem with the rom, where a gpio needs to be set to disable the external speakers. This causes echo on the voip software that I use when I use the headset. A reset with the headphones plugged in at boot up seems to fix it for me.
I am going to be trying different roms, I am not happy with any of the newer ones that I have tried.
There is a fix for this. It's in the wiki I believe. You might try looking there.

Lost sound after upgrade

Hello. I lost sound in my x7500 after upgrade (flash to RUU_Athena_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.2_1.38.00.00_Ship.exe). My HTC is deaf, no music, no system sounds, no phone rings, even when somebody is calling me. Please help me.
Tried a hard reset?
Yes I did, but nothing. I also tried reinstall still nothing.
Have you checked down the back of the setee? I normally find things there.
Failing that, a reflash might be in order, not heard of anyone else having this problem so could have been a corrupt ROM possibly.
have you associated sound files with any other progs than wmp? Had a similar problem before, that turned out to be that.
sorry about the formatting of this post esmertec jbed and opera mini are playing silly buggers..

[Q] Problem when using earphones...

I'm having problems when using earphones from the first day I bought my Omnia7. The problem is:
Earphones are fully functional, and there are no problems with listening music etc. But, after I make FIRST phone call using earphones or after I answer the FIRST phone call, my phone becomes unresponsive within short period of time, and I don't hear other people during calls nor they hear me. So the first call triggers all this. That first call however goes through without any problems, problems come after that. I tried using several earphones with same results. After I reboot everything works fine again.
I'm pretty much sure it isn't hardware related problem since I listen to music without any problem and the first call works great every time.
I'm running the latest version of OS and I got these new drivers from Samsung few days ago, but still no improvement. Anyone here with similar problems and if so, did you manage to solve it and how?
...
Almost 300 views so far, but none reply... It can't be I'm the only one with this kind of problem?!
I have same problem! Please help
When did you guys get your phone. Where are you now, have you flashed your phone or messed with any functions with in the Diagnosis App at all.
Omnia 7 has original Rom with mango update, no modding or special things.
Finally, some activity in this thread!
I had this problem, with stock Rom and also with several custom roms, so it must be hardware related. On the other hand, it shows some signs of software related issues, so I'm still confused...

[Q]i9505 periodic no sound and mic problem

Hello,
i've found some threads here with similar problems but they all were a result of wrong baseband used after a custom rom installation.
BUT i bought a i9505 with stock 4.4.2 TW rom UGNG8 (not rooted). At some point i noticed that the phone loses sound and mic completly. Sometimes can take a call but with no sound, neather can the caller hear me, no sound from music/video player and no system sounds eather(not even with headphones plugged in). Everything goes back to normal after a reboot.
I figured it was an outdated baseband so i rooted the device, updated the baseband to the latest (UGNK4) and installed CM12. But the problem is still here. At random times the device loses all sound and only a reboot fixes it
Haven't been able to reproduce the exact moment when it happen as it seem to be completly random (gets really anoying when i need to take an important call and there is no sound )
I could really use some help with this
Cheers,
H.
Rule of thumb: If it happens across multiple roms then it is most probably a hardware issue.
I'd suggest flashing the stock rom back and see if it helps.
Make sure it's the stock rom for the country where the phone was initially bought.
For instance: If the phone was bought from Germany but you're using it in England, it is still a German version of the S4 and therefor needs the German version.

thanks for the reply, i will try the stock firmware, maybe i missed something in the process earlier, and post back the results.
cheers,
H.
Fixed!
ok, after a lot of trial and error i narrowed it down to a hardware issue. The headphone jack was the thing making all the problems. i tried cleaning it but it didnt help, so i removed it. Device works flawless now. Already ordered a new jack. :good:
So to anyone having a similar issue -replacing (or just removing) the headphone jack does the trick.
Cheers,
H.
