My Jam freezes every so often when i take out my Spectec wifi card. Has anybody else experienced this? Here is my procedure for taking the card out:
Exit all applications running, stop the radio and exit the wifi program. Then i wait about 10 seconds before removing the card. The Jam freezes after that.
I tried the E300 drivers from ampda but I could not get the Wi-Fi Companion to run properly. It would not recognize an IP even though it was connected.
I tried a search on this subject but without much success. I appreciate any help and I apologize if there is some obvious thread that I missed.
i`ve got exactly the same problem - anyone got a solution??

Hi all,
i have a big problem with my Sandisk wifi and an Himalaya.
I have WM2003SE 2.06 and i got a lot of problems to connect to wifi ap.
I used both sandisk and microsoft drivers, but i got the same problem:
The ppc see the AP and try to connect, without success... i see "connecting" than back to "avaible"
Only after a lot of reset/remove insert sd card i got connected.
I tried dhcp/static wep/open, same problem.
anyone got this problem too?
Thanks
Try using the Socket drivers - it worked for me. I just need to find out how to get IE working properly!
Hi
A good few weeks back I had a problem with my wifi card. I own the O2 XDA Mini and the card is an SD one. It had been working fine, then all of a sudden it just stopped working. When I plugged it in, the screen came on but the LED on the card did not light, meaning it is not working.
Anyway, when the card is plugged in, everything freezes. I have been trying to get this sorted with the manufacturer who said hard reset and reinstall with a new driver.
Now, I was going to update my ROM so thought would do it all at the same time. The one thing I also had a problem with was all of a sudden my GPRS as well as my active sync comp connection did not work. Could not connect for unknown reason with GPRS and
"cannot start communications with the desktop computer. remote networking could not start due to a critical error (Error 608).
Please reconnect your device. If the problem persists, restart your device using the instructions provided by the manufacturer" comes up when I try to connect to comp.
Anyway, after the hard reset and ROM update, it worked, GPRS and activesync. Then I tried the new drivers for my wireless card and plugged it in. The same thing happened - screen froze and I lost my GPRS and active sync again!!
Now I have tried everything I know. I have been in contact with XDA but they have not replied yet.
Can anyone please help me as I dont want to do a hard reset again!
PS - I have tried uninstalling WLAN software, but it part fails due to one of the files being in use. I deleted that file manually but still no luck. I thought maybe comms is being taken up by the WLAN card and thats y i have other connection probs???
Thanks
darren
Hi all...
Not sure if anyone else has come across this, but with my 8125, I got into the habit of connecting to my lan via wifi and just leaving wifi on even when I set the 8125 to sleep. Whenever I would bring it out of sleep, the wifi would just connect again. The 8525 refuses to wake up so I end up having to do a soft reset.
Other issues... I had also gotten used to leaving gprs enabled since I have an unlimited data package. Again, with the 8125, everything was great. With the 8525, not so great. When leaving gprs enabled, the connection seems to die even though it still says I'm connected. I can't browse the internet, update Pocketweather, etc. I end up having to disable gprs for a bit and then trying again.
Anyone else have these issues? If so, did you fix and how?
TIA!
*bump*
No one else is having these issues?
i had the wifi issues you describe on my 8125 (it would not wake up after connecting to wifi and going to sleep). i have not yet used the wifi on my 8525.
Do you have a media card installed?
Do you have any apps installed to this card?
If so then, using a microSD adapter, plug it into an XP machine and run defrag on the card. This solved my problems immediately.
If this doesn't help you need to look at what apps are installed on your card and uninstall if necc.

I'll try that... but would you (or anybody) care to explain why this solves the freeze problem?
Hey guys.
Been following the instructions for WiMo 6 and all working
I am however experiencing connection issues in Vista. Basically I boot up and after maybe a minute i get the 'connection' beep and the network adapter icon shows internet connectivity. This will then cycle in and out approximately every minute, the connection beep followed by the red cross on the icon followed by reconnection.
I've noticed in WiMo that Activesync keeps starting even after I kill it in task manager.
Any thoughts anyone? Running on Vodafone Sim and also T-mobile.
On a non related note i am also experiencing the loss of SD Card after hibernate standby that others are. 4 Gb Sandisk SDHC.
Same here. Any idea? I ve trying to disabe activesync usb connections.....but no success
I used to have the same problem. It could be caused by the use of the SD card. I have also uninistalled from device manager the NDIS connection. And restarted.
Many regards.
Try this. I worked for me. I hadnt more disconnections since I did it
Hi,
I did some changes and It seems (by now) the problem is solved. I ve playing with continous 3g connections. This is what I did (I dont know which one did the trick).
1) Disable activesync usb connections for both sides( I did it for vista side days ago but know I did too in snapvue size.
2) Sevice Sync bluetooth Server stopped and set manually.
3) Reset both sides
Now I ve a stable 3g connection....

Ok, I've read all the comments about similar issues in this wonderful forum, but none of them seem to be similar to my issue (and I've tried plenty of fixes).
Bit of Background:
I've recently got an O2 Exec from a friend (swapped for 2 blu-rays no less) and have swapped the sim for my BT To Go sim card.
WIFI was working fine on my home hub when I first set it up on Wednesday. It's standard WEP encryption with a standard code.
I've been tinkering (and this is probably bringing up warning signs, I know) and added the SDHC card CABs (SDHC.CAB and SDHC.777 at first, but then after reading some forum topics, I uninstalled these using Remove Programs and installed psidoc_sdhc instead).
Since then the WIFI works in that it connects and shows in the top bar that it is connected, but IE doesn't work, just tells me the WIFI timed out.
Installed Hitchhiker to better manage the WIFI and that connects fine and shows status as connected.
So far I've tried:
Removing all SDHC drivers
Removing all WIFI settings and re-adding
Installing Hitchhiker
Tearing out hair.
But none of these work.
Any ideas/suggestions from the forum?
Self Diagnostics.
Right, I swallowed my fear of having to reset everything and install all my software again and then hard resetted.
Worked fine after this.
BUT...re-installed psidoc CAB and this is where it all went wrong again. So it must have been this to blame.
Anyway, removed the program and it still doesn't work, even after soft reset, so it looks like it'll be a hard reset again.
Anyone got any SDHC CABs that do work and don't muck up my internet?
