Discovered today that some messages were failing to arrive from one IMAP4 mail a/c on the Exec. Only symptom - first couple of times, got an 'undeliverable' message due to 'incorrect mail addresses' (they were fine)
Cheerfully kept sending business messages, they went from Out folder - but only later did I discover they weren't arriving. Very dangerous in fact, from a business point of view.
By a process of elimination, discovered not due to o2 SMTP or my mail provider - just this a/c on the XDA playing up.
So, Deleted it. But each time I soft reset, it reappears....
I'm reluctantly assuming a hard reset is required... bit rich on a 7 day old unit with only non-o2 app being Pocket Informant...
Anyone know an easier way to get rid of the phantom account?
Thanks
I've had the same problem, ilve managed to fix the problem twice, by deleting the account twice and recreating it. however this was not easily done as 9 times out of 10 the account didn't delete properly and returned after reset.
there must be a better way
Apparently you need to let the device "sit" for a fair few seconds for it to write to permanent storage... delete it and wait like 30 seconds, then reset and see if the same still happens?
Yes, I've just discovered this thing about having to wait on the Exec for up to 3mins before doing a soft reset -otherwise you lose any changes you just did (like delete a mail account...)
Early days, but I feel as though I'm having to soft reset the XDA Exec more than any previous XDA I've had....
nope,
tried 30 sec, 1 minute 3 min 5 min 1 hr all day
just keeps coming back

omg i need help asap plz!! i have no idea how it happened but my txt msgs just disappear! as sson as i send one its in the sent items as always, and if i receieve one, it goes to my inbox..but if i soft reset they're all gone! i can copy my old ones thru jeyo mobile extender and outlook and those seem to stay, but whatever i send or recieve on the device is gone after a soft reset!! whats going on!! ive done more than one hard reset and ive got no other software installed at the moment, but it keeps happening!? could it be a persistent conflict with active sync?? plz advise!!
RE
Yes, if the sms were sent/received say within a day even for a few minutes.
However, if the sms are kept for more than a day this would not happen
I think there's a problem here
RE
Regarding the sent/receieved sms issue. I've re-tested by allowing the sms to remain for 20 min before performing a soft reset. All the sms remain intact.
So the explanation (from tekguru forum) is that it takes a short period of time to write to persistent storage. It is therefore inadvisable to do a soft reset immediately after sms is sent/received.

thanx..ive sorted it out...my mistake was soft resetting while the power was on, i was advised to power off, wait 10 seconds and then soft reset...everything's been working fine since then!
Hello!
First, I'd like to say hello, have been lurking for some time here, now I've got my o2 trion and can now actively read/participate . I'm having some troubles with the trion though.
I've meant to use it as an alarm clock (using Mort) and for that, I've setup the device not to suspend while on AC, only to shut off the display. Two days in a row after I've woken up (using another alarm clock, precaution is everything ), I've found trion has hung by that time; I couldn't activate it except by soft reset. Today I've experimented a bit and left it for about two or three hours on AC. After that, I've activated it (tap) and started a programm (Skype in this case, but I guess it doesn't matter). Trion hung while starting it, only soft reset helped again. I figured out Mort started in the morning and hung the system.
I've got Pocket Informant 2007 running, a couple of Today plugins (Birthday, Mort's Today), WM5 build 14955.2.3.0, ROM version should be 1.25.207.1 though I'm not sure about that. It's the current o2 Germany ROM.
Questions:
Has anyone experienced this behaviour?
If not, do you have any idea, what could be causing hangs (my symptoms are rather vague)?
I've kicked all of branding from the thing a couple of days ago with a hard reset, the only cab from ExtROM I installed was PP_Suspend_Resume_Null.CAB, as I assumed this could be a fix for some bug. Could THIS have something to do with the problem above?
What happens to my SMS' and missed calls if I don't read them before soft resetting?
Thank you.
I find my unit hangs as well if left alone. It was on charge last night, didn't sound the alarms at 6am and eventually when I got up (a bit later ) I had to soft reset it in order to get it working
Not sure how to fix it. In the past any telephone calls or SMS messages I have received during the "hung" phase I lose. Not much I can do about that I'm afraid
These freezes are often caused by active sync running all by itself. Providing you do not use push mail see the following thread:
see my post here - you need to follow each step carefully and consider the auto soft reset at a time before alarms are due.

Everytime I sync my Sprint Mogul, it returns the following error:
*************************************************************************
The following appointments failed to synchronize from the device:
1. Subject: Pay Estimated Taxes
Time: 15-Sep-08 00.00
Duration: 1440 minutes
Support Code:1
*************************************************************************
The problem is that this appointment (while it used to be on my Mogul) has been deleted. I've tried creating it again and deleting it, but that didn't fix the problem. If it were a problem on the computer side, I could try scanpst.exe. Is there an equivalent, or another fix, for the PDA side?
**Edit**
I forgot to mention the following:
Even if I set the sync for only 1 month in the past, I get the same error message (even though this event is over 3 months ago).
Something occurred to me that might fix the problem, but I don't know if it's possible. If I could wipe the calendar info completely from the Mogul, that would hopefully get rid of this event. Then I could simply sync with my computer to get my calendar back on. Obviously, a hard reset would do this, but I don't want to have to reinstall everything.
I tried deleting the partnership from the Mogul and laptop, then setting up a new one. I chose replace info on my device with my computer, and the problem still somehow occurs.
did you find solution fro this?
I am also having the same problem
Hey!
Dunno if this was already posted on the site, I did a search on it and it didn't show up for the HTC Whitestone (Imagio), so I thought this could come in handy when it does happen to you (or to anyone with TF3D enabled really..)
My Imagio went crazy one day because I received over 40 text messages (I returned to the states and turned on my phone after only 2 days of no service overseas) and the blue blimp that normally counts messages remained frozen at 1 even after erasing all of my texts.
After some research I came up across FixUnreadCount , a program built back in 2004 or so which addresses this problem, although I dunno how it works since TF3D didn't exist back in 2004.
Anyways I ran the tiny exec in my Imagio, and viola! It solved my problems.
UPDATE: Didn't know there was a post about it less than 5 days ago, woops! :X
NOTE: you may require a restart upon completion, so make sure you dont have any unsaved programs running in the background!
Ok so not to sound guy or anything but I could kiss you I just spent an hour and a half on the phone with verizon just so they could do nothing and in 30 seconds this fix my phone your my hero.
Thanks
Yeah i found this on another forum after i did a HR (Hard Reset) only to have it come back after i finished setting up my phone again. So i did a second and found this little gem while i was setting up yet again. Only to have it happen a third time in two days.... Luckly i had this already and no more hard resets
So, Love my HD2 still, but...the bloody thing deleted itself last week on Friday.
I seacrhed the forums and found this to be a well-known issue, but no fix that I could find and I want to be able to sync with Exchange without worry.
I was wondering if anyone has a fix for this "lock-out" issue.
PS-yes, I have hacked the registry to give me SOME of the original options back for the calendar other than snooze five minutes, but I want my old options back (2 weeks, 1 week, 2 hours, etc.)
To HTC:
This is very upsetting and I hope that this gets read.
With all its foibles I still loved this HD2.
It does not do the calendar well: I need things to be able to snooze for more than 5 minutes. I would like the functionality back for multiple snooze options.
The battery life is pretty poor.
Other than that I have loved this device-UNTIL NOW!
Last week my phone locked me out.
I am synched to my exchange server at work and policy mandates that I use a password for this in that I work in an FQHC.
All of a sudden I wake up and the phone will not let me in.
Now, I am not employing a genius password it was "2222." That was it!
I tried again and then once more and the phone prompts me to input characters to make sure that my keyboard is taking the strokes properly. It was.
I removed the battery and tried again. Still nothing.
I note that with my fumbling around that I have exhausted 6/8 of my attempts.
I wait to call HTC.
I get on with my IT department first and ask them if they forced a password change. They had not.
I called HTC and was told that this was terrible...have I tried removing the battery?
Yes. Then I am asked to do it again.
I do so. When the phone comes back up it states:
"You have one more attempt left. If you enter the wrong password again all of your data will be erased." Mind you, I am not pushing any keystrokes, just resetting the phone.
Then the rep asks me to do a soft reset.
Stupidly, I do so.
Upon rebooting the phone informs me that it is resetting the phone to factory defaults, wipes the whole phone INCLUDING my SD card which had photos, movies and other.
I look on the forums and see that this is a KNOWN issue since back in MARCH!!!
All of my information is gone.
I will not be able to sync to the exchange which I need for my calendar and work emails because I refuse to lose EVERYTHING again.
I spoke to another HTC rep yesterday and he was simply aghast. Very knowledgeable gent, but did not know how to address this issue.
So please, along with the calendar, the battery, and some other much needed updates...what is your team doing to resolve this "lock out" issue?!
I can almost deal with the other problems, but this one?!
Please, let me know.
Very sincerely,
for the snooze, use bsbtweaks "windows dismiss x notifications" tweak.
or go to hklm/system/shell/notification/oem find customUIDLL and change the filename to,well, anything. bsbtweaks adds a "2" before the ".dll"
Will this work even though my company forces out a lock as its exchange policy?
I found some interesting answers in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=582660
it has nothin to do with lock, it simply stops the htc snooze/dismiss popup from showing, so it defaults to the windows one.
for the lockouts ive never used lock so never seen the problem, so can't help.
I found an answer that seems to work (for now) in an old post linked to a WinMo Blog:
Enable/Disable the Exchange security policy - HKLM\Security\Policies\00001023: 0 = Enabled; 1 = Disabled
I just did this moments ago and the forced password is now not being forced, but I do not know if they push the policy out more than once (like every 24 hours). I guess I will find out!
I saw some other keys:
"HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies" folder.
00001005 to 1
00001006 to 1
Have not touched these yet.
I am a little worried that if they kick the policy back in I won't have the proper password (or any) and will not be able to get in, but I guess this one is going to be trial and error for a bit.
