Hi there,
when I sync my MDA Pro, I would like it to only get the business items at work and only the personal items at home. The MDA Pro would contain all data.
I used to do this (psion, palm) with categories, however, I can't seem to be able to with active sync
does anyone have an alternative idea?

Hi folks,
as the new xdaII now offers a lot of the features all of us have been missing so far, I also think about shifting from I to II. However, besides the discussion of all the new features, I would like to know how easy/painful it is to migrate the data stored for contacts, calendar and tasks from xdaI to xdaII. One way for the contacts would be to use the infrared interface. However, I am not shure if all the fields from pocket outlook will be transferred then. For the calendar entries, I really have no idea how to transfer them, as it seems impossible to migrate the whole calendar. Would the backup tool be an option, as it keeps the data to be migrated, although the operating system is a higher release on the xdaII?
Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
use activesync
Just use your desktop/activesync to sync email, calendar, contacts, tasks etc. on your xda 1.
Then when you have your xda 2 you can just resync and they will all sync on to the new device.

Hi,
running winxp pro sp2 with Active sync 4.2 and Intellisync 5.5 (trial)
I would love some help as to the best way to sync from Outlook to My orange SPV M3100 as I am having no end of problems.
The reason that I feel I need Intellisync is that I have several different contacts folders in Outlook, which all need to end up on my SPV. Activesync does not seem to allow this.
1) is there a better programme than Intellisync for multi outlook contact files, as although I realised this is a trial, it keeps hanging when updating (on record 39 of 5300)? - I did manage to get it to do the first sync, but can no longer update...I don't feel pre-disposed to pay for it, if I cannot get it to work.
2) Is there a way to delete all the contacts on my spv in one go..without doing a hard reset? What is the file name that holds the contacts?
3) Where did the "backup" function go on Activesync?..There used to be a way of doing a back-up of the phone that could reinstall everthing the way it was pre a hard reset.
many thanks.
just got myself a vario II, gorgeous piece of machinery!
only problem. i've been using palm desktop for eons now and have all my calendar stuff there.
any chance i coudl either sync my palm desktop with my vario, or is there some alternative calendar application (freeware preferred).
i REALLY don't want to use outlook. i'm a thunderbird person and don't need two mega applications running.
cheers!
do you guys know how to synchronize notes on mda and ms outlook so that they could be sorted in categories? currently i can sync notes from ms outlook to my mda without any problems but they can't be sorted into categories. on ms outlook, if i create folders and sort notes in there, they can't be sync to the mda within the same folders. it's also the same the opposite way from mda to ms outlook too.
do you know of any free program to do so?
thanks
Hello,
I'm trying to get my Hermes to sync with the 3 calendars I have in my Outlook Data File - Personal, Training and Work. I haven't been able to find any calendar software that supports multiple calendars, but am using Pocket Informant with a custom view for my training and filters so that my personal and work calendar is combined on the device.
As things stand if I move something out of my personal calendar in Outlook into either of the other calendars, I lose it on my Hermes, what I'd like is to sync the contents of all 3 calendars into the single calendar on the Hermes, where I can use filters to set up the displays I want.
I've tried using PocketMirror Professional, but despite claims for Vista WMDC compatibility I couldn't get the desired configuration and it wiped my calendars completely - thank god for the recycle bin!
Anyway, anyone any ideas of an alternative work around?
I'm using WM6, OUtlook 2007 and Vista Ultimate. Thanks.
Try with new PocketMirror (WM) version 2.2.2 is compatible with Vista.
