TouchScreen disable after soft reset?????? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

After a soft reset on my dopod900 the touch screen is disable. The stylus cannot execute anything on the screen. I tried soft reset about 20 times in vain. The hard keyboard is functioning though and programs and phone can be activated through it. How to enable the touch screen back on my universal??? Help appreciated with thanks in advance.

After trying various other means over these 2 days eg. removing the battery and sim card and many further soft resets it still failed to activate the touch screen....I called the dealer and distributor of dopod and they had no solution other then advising HARDRESET...Oh ghoosh I was about to surrender and to opt for the final destiny ie HARD RESET b4 a thought ran through my mind about removing these 2 programs ie Dinarsoft Handy Menu and Pocketmax buttonmax which I had just installed b4 this problem occured and had display the error message of being unable to startup at every soft reset.
Icannot used the hard keyboards(as the screen is disable) to remove these 2 programs which I had tried but failed when I initially had the problem so I placed my dopod900 on the cradle activesync and used the desktop to remove these 2 programs and then BINGO......
THE TOUCHSCREEN IS ENABLED AND WORKING BACK TO NORMAL..

difficult to say.
Did you try a soft-reset?
did you try a hard reset?
When did it stop responding? after fall? after upgrade? after dropping it in the loo ?
do the buttons work?
Pls give more details
Dear,
As M4io said, it's difficult to say, did you uninstall any unofficial software such as BT Patch, etc? if so, only hard reset will do
HTH
Cheers,
I used to have this problem.
it due to Calligrapher 7.4
For me, to solve this problem by uninstall that software from activesync.
in my case ,touch screen doesn't work but hardware button still work.
you may try to uninstall the last software that may cause this problem via activesync.
I do soft-reset & hard-reset still not work. It stop when I get up morning. Last night no problem. When do hard-reset touch screen not response..but screen still work. All Button is Ok. I can't calibrate the screen when do hard reset.
Did you chack you Ext. ROM and \Windows\startup ?
about "TPdisable.exe"
you can try remove it from Ext.ROM and do hard reset again.
Hope you luck.
Have you got a screen protector fitted to the screen, this will sometimes stop screen taps registering if the edges are under the edge of the screen.

Serious (?) problem...need some help please. O2 XDA Mini S

Hi, I'v got O2 XDA Mini S and a "little" problem with it. I'v just installed Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0 and it crashed my phone. After installation (on my memory card), I could not see it on my today screen...so I'v tried to configure it in today screen configuration - but I could not get there - the configuration we're not accessible (it crashed). So after that, soft reset. And the real problem began. After the boot screen and "windows mobile welcome screen" the mobile just freezes. Active sync on my PC connects to it just for a second, then disconnects. The Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0 is installed on my memory card, so I'v removed the memory card - the same problem. It was annoying - so hard reset....does not help. I have Wisbar Advance 2 as well, which is starting first and I can see only the welcome screen of it (sometimes it loads and I can see the whole skin). Sometimes (after reboot) I can see the menu, today screen etc. but the phone freezes. I think that the Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0 is freezing the phone after his process starts. Is there anything like "safe mode" start or something like that, which could help me to remove this soft ? Or any other way to normally start the phone ? Any ideas ? Many thanks for help.
It should start after hard reset - phone profiles, wisbar advance will not load after a proper hard reset - the phone will be back to factory condition.
Did you do proper hard reset? After that it sounds like phone profiles should be installed to device memory not storage card. Most today plugins only work properly on device memory.
I'v done the hard reset (I think it was done properly - comm manager and voice command button pressed in the same time and then reset button). But after I'v pressed these buttons, nothing specially happend....the phone was still off. So I'v turned it on....and there were no changes with the software - still the same. Maybe I'm doing the hard reset wrong ?

Yep sounds like hard reset is not done. Press these 2 buttons but keep them pressed and dont let go - then press reset with the tip of the stylus and then text should come on the screen with black background. Press green (call) button and hard reset will commence.
Or you can first turn device off - then press the 2 buttons and keep them held and press power on to reach the same screen.
Ok, I'v done it. Many, many thanks for help. The phone manual is wrong (!). . Anyway Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0....WTF is that ? This program just crashed my phone and I need to reinstall all the soft. Wrrr. And I just wanted a profile manager . Thanks again for help !
Good, I am glad - try the one I use - its free http://www.winmobileapps.com/device/pocketpc/plt/plt_download.aspx
Nice one, got it. Thanks.

Is my O2 XDA Mini S dead??

I tried installing spb pocket plus and, just after it installed, my Wizard didn't seem to be responding so I tried soft resetting it. On booting up it showed the O2 splash screen and then the Windows Mobile screen but nothing else. The screen goes dark as the backlight is turned off but you can still see the Windows Mobile screen showing. Each time I soft reset the same thing happens.
I've tried soft resetting about 4-5 times now and the same thing happens again. I've even taken the battery out and put it back in and the same thing happens. I was going to try reinstalling the O2 XDA firmware but as I can't get the Wizard to connect to ActiveSync I can't do that.
Has anyone got any ideas? At the moment I'm without my phone & all the PDA functions on the phone and I really want it back.
Thanks for any advice.
Matthew
Think you may need to do a hard reset to put it back to it's factory state. Should work then.
Thanks, I'd been trying to do a hard reset but it didn't seem to work - then it occurred to me that I was actually pressing the wrong button to confirm the reset!
Hard reset works and gets it up and running again although, from checking, it seems that there's some problem between sdp pocket plus (3.0.0.3888) as I've now installed that about 3-4 times and each time, after doing a soft reset, the Wizard crashes and won't respond.

buttons not working after device is turned on second time

It is a strange problem but I am not able to solve it.
After I do a Soft reset everything is normal but when the device turns off and on again non of the buttons are working, can not even turn it of. also i found that the phone is not working any more can type in 1 nr and it hangs. al the other programs are working fine with the touch screen. after I do a soft reset same thing, strange!! I don not really want do a hard reset will all the programs that are installed.
Thanks for the help

[help] Gene100 with Unresponsive Touch Screen

Hi guys,,,
My gf asked me if I can fix her fone, she said her phone's touch screen is unresponsive. Yesterday, she gave me the phone so I can work with it. Here're the symptoms:
- The screen is unresponsive
- Softreset doesn't solve the problem
- The hardware buttons are work. (I still can operate the fone with hw buttons)
I normally suggested her to do a hard reset, but she refused unless I can back up the text messages,,,
so, what are you guys suggest to solve the problem? I have downloaded three back up softwares, but I would like to fix the problem before I hard reset it, and to understand that hard reset might not solve the problem,,, it can be a hardware failure.
and oh, her father bought the Gene online, so no warranty,,,
thx in advance guys!
no one? wew,,, the gene forum is surely quiet,,,
use PIM backup (google for it)
and after taking the backup do a hard reset
Try Screen Alignment
Hi,
Please try to do screen alignment....
Start - > Settings - > System -> Screen - > Align Screen
The touch screen may have stopped responding because of the pressure and filger threshold values may have corrupted. Plaese try above option and it may work again.
Also the touch hardware or driver could be the problem.
tq for the replies
screen alignment didn't work. it fail to interpret touch input.
the driver and value corruption theories seem logical, and if it is, hard reset would solve the problem.
I have backed up the phone with SPB BackUp. Great piece of software. I will hardreset the fone after I get her permission.
awww, hard reset didn't solve the problem,,,
are there any explanations for unresponsive touch screen except hardware failure?
