is there any accessory to allow video out to televisions and other monitors?
the hima had a backpack attachment, and i was wondering if the universal has something similar....
San
anybody there??!!!
S
AFAIK there is no backpack available and no plan for doing it. seems even odd to add a backpack to the beast.
for the tv-out it might be some SDIO card that will do it but i don't know for sure.

thanks Jay! my bad....didnt look around before posting!
I used to use my xda 2 with the backpack many times to make presentations, and i guess i'd badly need to find a way out of this

If this never appears (it wouldn't be the first time I have heard some O2 BS - however the guy who sent this onto me has been very helpful) then there are still third party options. search pitch duo on google there are some very interesting reviews. Also if you really need video out and can live with a two unit solution ie PPC and phone have a look at the review on pocketpcthoughts of the Axims native output - very impressive.

That ad is posted by fychan. If it is the same guy, fychan is also active in this forum. Perhaps he can share his stuff here.
There was a similar posting on eBay from a guy in Taiwan that claims he can do it. That posting was made 3 months ago.
He has also came to this forum and show a few pics of his mod. From the pics, it seems like it is possible. However, the limitation is that it still uses the SDIO chip, so if you have wifi on, you can't have the SD memory card active.
Anyway, the limitation is attributed to the fact that the SDBus drivers that is in the Himalaya currently cannot support it.
Is anyone able to supply me with the extra's such as speed camera notifications etc?
Thanks in advance

Well if you look at it from a hosting point of view, as soon as people get wind that you can get for free what some people have been charging for on e-bay, what are they going to do?
I am assuming that the main reason for the charge is for bandwidth charges, seeing as the rest of the site is freely accessible.
If you think about it, it's not a bad price to pay, especially as it's a hell of alot cheaper than a fine or loosing your licence / job.
Now all we need for HGV driver like me, is a really good comprehensive database of low bridges and a way to make TT avoid certain Poi's.

Hey all. I'm really new to HTC and PCC. I had a Nokia 6682 and new how to tweak it and everything. I'm lost with my Wizard though. Do I install programs and stuff just like a regular computer? What tweaks do you guys recommend I perform? I only use the phone for watching videos, listening to music, taking pics and video and of course talking on the phone. I have a PQI 2gb memory card and I just found out that I should've gotten a SanDisk instead. I read the WIKI, but I'm still kinda lost. Somebody teach the young grasshopper!!!!
PQY, SanDisk, Kingston ... - ... believe me: all of those cards are produced in one and the same factory in China!
About what you should do with your WIZ200: this question you should have asked yourself before buying it! It is a PDA, an organizer, a mobile computer which lets you do stuff on the go while away from your desk - and it has for sure its limits!
The Wizard is not the ideal device for watching videos! A little bit research before buying would have told you that! All through it is possible to watch videos; if it is 'enjoyable' is another question ...
Music:
yes, it plays! But already my SE K800i has a much better sound than the WIZ!
There are some cool games out there for PDA's which really run excellent on the WIZ! You can take a closer look at www.handango.com for that! They have also trial versions available for download!
Tweaks:
Some of them are nice but many produce even some issues on your device! So, be carefully by tweaking your WIZ and always ask yourself if that particular TWEAK is really necessary or of you could even live without that!
Am I able to have pictures and ringtones for certain callers and all that? I fell in love with the touchscreen stuff man. I couldn't help it. Plus I only paid $60 through cingular. I have 30 days to return it. Do you know of any phones that might be of interest and usefulness to me?

Ringtones and pictures for callers is no problem! Just check your contacts list in the phone and you will see it offers much more than nokia's symbian would ever be capable of!
About your second question: I have absolutely no clue what phones would be of interest for you! You might wanna figure that out by yourself? www.gsmarena.com
You da man! One last question though. Is there any way I can put P/W protection on my pictures and videos?

I am sure there is a way with 3rd party software. Maybe some real good FILE EXPLORERS are capable of that!
I just wonder why you need to put a password protection on your pic's? Do you rent your phone or give it to somebody from time to time? Then a better solution would be to work with 2 MiniSD cards: put your personal stuff on one SD and the public stuff on another one ...
SOme things i feel that are needed for new wizards.

^^^ that page lots of good stuff.
But the first thing thatmakes installing programs a breeze. is Cabviaacticesync
What it is. when you download the cab file(program) you want. you right click the cab file with your mouse. and there will be a new menu called cabviaacticesync. click that then folow the steps.
http://www.modaco.com/CABviaActiveSync-FREE-Edition-now-availableand33-t243034.html
Also Omapclock and Omapclock plus. you can download those sepratley. or you can download something called batterystaus that has ompa built in. really nice program. All free. dont overclock over 260. i leave mine at 240.
thats all i have for now.
skype me if you want help. toodeep2360
ALso put all your programs on your sd card. will let your wizard run faster. the only downside. is prgrams will start slower.
Thanks for all of your help. I'm gonna go through all these threads over the weekend. I just really gotta find a P/W program.
You better be carefully with OMAPCLOCK and BATTERYSTATUS! It does not really do any good and lots of people had problems with that! Just search this forum or others online!

I think you would be in a minority there Junner2003 - the majority of people on the forum with omap devices overclock their devices and have no problem - it certainly makes the device alot more responsive.
It makes skype useable, videos smooth etc...
It is very rare to cause any damage through overclocking and most stick around 240mhz.
I find the device fine for watching a movie
Even if I am in the minority - still sticking to my opinion!
I am glad so many people have no issues with it! Research in the web tells me another story! How ever, every1 makes his own choices - and I always try to keep my stuff as original as possible! Others like do change every single bit and byte - multiculti!
Have it your way!

Wrong. Between my 2 8125s and my brothers 2 8125s. overclocked to 240-273 we have no problems running them for a year now.
Yes there has been a few people who thought it was ok to overclock over 260.
and everyone has said not to overclock over 240-260.

I partially agree, I hate the slow stock roms (I think Junner2003 is on one(?)). But i used to use batterystatus and even clocked to 312 permanently for a while. The last version I tried froze my device and my current rom is quicker than anything else anyway.
Running the official German T-Mobile AKU3.3 Rom - performance is quite good - sure: videos are not enjoyable with the 195MHz but it is enough for everything else I do: some office work, internet, email, database, writing some software (and compile it later on a desktop) ... and a bit gaming!
Looked around the net but cannot see any yet, has anyone else been successful?
Someone did post a couple of links a few weeks ago about a very attractive dock to play music through your kaiser. You are talking about a music playing dock and not a charging dock aren't you? The only problem there was no price quoted for the docks on the site and the method of buying the product was a bit ambiguous. I think in order to get info about ordering, you have to contact the company. I've I aboth companies about the dock to see how much they cost as I would certainly buy in future
Edited to add: I found the thread talking about Kaiser sound docks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350194
And here are the links for the same dock: http://www.4ustuff.com/info.php?itno=2051
http://www.cradle-kingdom.co.uk/products.asp?id=1005
Thanks for that. It'll probably show up on ebay first.
I'll have a hunt around see if I can get more links.
http://www.4ustuff.com/info.php?itno=2051
Judging from the email I was sent by the company, looks like 4ustuff are only wholesalers. Now who they supply to, I don't know
Here's an amazon link to the tytn version, don't know if it would be compatible, or if there's a tytnII version.
http://www.amazon.com/Cingular-Char...bs_2?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1203363992&sr=8-2
Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I have one of these.
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=832
I don't use the sound feature normally but I just tried it out and it works. It doesn't have built in speakers but comes with a mini-stereo jack...very similar to an iPod dock.
BUMP! Anyone found one yet?

Has no built in speakers. Want one to use at work when i am in my test area so i can listen to music while charging the phone. The one i had for my Wizard also had a built in mic so i could use it for hands free too. Would be very useful!
The one that Dungbeetle pointed out may be ok but only available on USA Amazon and will not ship to the UK.

You cant buy a crappy pair of speakers and just plug them into the seido version?
The android app, CompareAnywhere, will use your phone's camera to read a barcode on any item you may find in a store, then does a price comparison on other retail stores or online stores.
Is there any WM6.1 apps out there that does this too?
hmmm...
i was wondering the same thing after i saw the commercial, and did some research on the dream. that would be a cool app for my vogue. im going to do some more research to see if we can make it happen.
i have someting like that for the vouge
what exactly is it that u have? wat does it allow u to do?
do a search for iNigma reader
Never mind I attached it for you...
that app doesn't do anything but download other programs if they have a barcode.... unless I'm doing something wrong

This only scans 2D bar codes (sema codes). The bar code on products are all 1D.
Thanks anyway...
this would be a great app and i've been looking for something like it too. found one close, but you have to enter upc manually. google can already do that. good luck!
I might be interested in writing an application like this for Java micro edition. I thought about doing something like this for Android but was discouraged when I found that there was already someone doing it.
If I wrote this, I would develop it in such a way that it could be run on any J2ME compliant device.
Who'd be interested if it were offered free of cost?
Who'd be interested if it were not free?

Not quite... scanlife appears to only support 2D codes (semacode, EZcode, etc), and it just simply takes you to the web site that this code contains (provided that it is indeed a web site).
What I'm looking for is a scanner for 1D barcodes, encoded in UPC-A (vertical lines with numbers at the bottom).
I want something that takes these UPC barcodes and have the program automatically search Amazon or other online retailers for price comparisons. So if I go to a local Best Buy and see a router on sale, I can simply scan the barcode at the back, and see if there's another online retailer that have it for cheaper.
So far, I only see Android with this capability (they have 2 apps that does this actually).
Thanks for keeping an eye out though.
1D Barcode Lookup
I have this running on my Touch Pro and it's been pretty accurate with the barcodes of the things on my desk (kleenex box, empty coffee can). I haven't tried it "in the field" yet.

TouchPro has 3.2 megapixel AF
Vogue has a 2.0MP (no info on AF, but I think it is fixed focus...)
I could not get barcodes recognized with barcorama, however I only tried with one UPC sticker and not under the best light conditions.
If anyone else gets it work, let us know
Hey xDarKnighTx,
Microsoft worked on that concept a while ago and stopped further development.
Just google "AURA" with the words barcode.
I don't know much more about it, although some discussions relating to AURA seem promising.
Cheers
I'm extremely interested free or not!
