Hi all, i've seen this on the audio-input of 2 PocketPC devices until
now, the X50 and MDA pro ( and probably on all clones): both have
frequency-ranges only up to 8 KHz max. Both on external input and
internal mic, this picture is of external input (headset) of XDAIIs and MDA pro as a comparison:
http://home.wirehub.nl/~technica/downloads/XDAs.gif
It looks like these devices either:
1. have a very steep filter built-in or more likely:
2. when we set them at 44.1 KHz it only samples at 22 KHz and
re-samples up.
They advertise with sampling-frequency of 44.1 KHz....
Ofcourse the output can, but what about the input ????
Any known hack ? New ROM anywhere?
Can anybody shed some light on this ?
Mister HTC ?

I have just purchased i.Tech BlueCON35 and Clip S35, totally at USD100.
I plugged the BlueCON into the headset socket of my i-mate JAM through a 2.5mm adapter and paired up with Clip S35. The stereo music is good - far more than just acceptable.
The BlueCON is of dimension 58 x 42 x 9 mm and weighs 14.5 grams. It uses 1 x AAA battery for up to 9 hours for a range of up to 10 meters. It is of bluetooth v1.2 supporting A2DP. It can be plugged into the jack output of any audio device to convert it to support bluetooth stereo.
I also have it, but I don't like to connect my Magician with BlueCON35 using the adapter. What I want to do now is find the way to put BlueCON35 into the Magician's case.
I'm trying to find the small size of mobile phone battery, then modify it and replace to the standard battery so I will get the empty space in the case. After that, I will remove the case of BlueCON35 and put it (the circuit board of BlueCON35) in the empty space in the Magician's case.
But I don't think that it'll be possible because the space is really too small.
Clip S35...
Where did you find the S35 you mentioned? Looking for sellers and can't seem to find a seller (aside from eBay) with any available.
Thanks in advance,
Mick...
Mick, try to visit to http://www.itechdynamic.com, there's the company's website of these products.
Yesterday I tried my S35 with Nokia 6600 using BluePlayer (software to play MP3 from Nokia to S35 wirelessly) the overall of the testing is good. Better for people who using Nokia phone with Symbien OS. I'm in Thailand and Clip S35 cost is about 3,400 baht (40 baht = 1USD) and Nokia 6600 doesn't need BlueCON, only Clip S35 is enough.
Hi!
Could someone tell me what a hardware audio codec is used "inside" this device? I mean what chip is used for A/D D/A conversion in audio part. I am sure someone has already opened device.
Shortly - the problem is - in speed of operation (conversion) of waveIn and waveOut subsystem.
we are using 8kHz WAVE_FORMAT_PCM settings and
- Qtek s100 has 1.6% difference in speed of operation of OUT an IN subsystem.
- HP2210 has only 0.005% difference.
Question is simple - why? if codec (chip) has been clocked by single oscillator - how can we have such big difference in operation speed of A/D and D/A convertions - in case of Qtek?
Second question - is it hardware or software (audio drivers) problem?
what we wanna do - try to use other sample rate - maybe it will help us to achieve acceptable difference in operation speed.
a bit more details.
"Investigation" shows that
- Qtek S100 has same speed of operation of wave_IN and wave_OUT subsystem only if 44.1kHz sample rate is specified. in all other cases one of devices (IN or OUT) are working faster (produce or consume more samples) aproximately on 1-1.6%.
- irregularity of wave_X done/data_ready events or messaging is just terrible even if you "request" 2 times per second "communication" with wave device.
So it looks like OS porting or at least audio drivers in Qtek s100 was made in very bad manner.
HP 2210 on my desk working just fine - everything works as it is expected .
Hopefully this is the right place, looked at forums list and didn't see a BST nor were there rules for no sales allowed here, please move it if I am mistaken however.
Anyways here u have it!

A copy/paste from HTC's site:
"Windows Mobile® 6.1 Standard"
I prefer the Standard (no touch screen). Our company developed some software for the S620 Excalibur and I became a WM standard convert. Seemed way more stable than WM pro. I also loved the QWERTY and the Snap keyboard looks to be the same or better.
So an S620 with GPS...just about perfect for my needs.

It shown S521 on my snap, is it different model?
Guess...
Maple - S510
Captiain - S521
Please correct me, if I'm wrong.
Sorry yes, standard Windows Mobile I should have known better!
I believe the different numbers relate to products in different regions. S510 in the UK, or so I am reliably informed.
I just picked up an EVO and I'm pretty disappointed in the BTAudio quality on such a high end phone. I have the Blackberry media gateway hooked up in my car and paired to my iPod touch and iPhones it sounds indistinguishable from hooking the aux jack up directly to the phone/iPod.
When I connect the evo, I get a lot of crunching and distortion in the mid's and highs. In WinMo I could simply alter the bitpool settings in the registry to solve this issue, however as a first time android user I am at a loss as to how to make those changes.
Android seems like a far superior OS so there has to be a way to change these settings if it was that simple in WinMo. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I just found this page here which discuss some terminal and backend files in OSX for modifying these settings. Is there any similar file or terminal command we can do on our own unix based systems?

I have been looking for ways to adjust the bitpool, linespeed etc like we used to do in winmobile. Despite googling everything related have come up with nothing. Also went into the recently released htc source code. But I am not a programmer and not sure where to look. Only thing I have noted using the logcat file is that the bitpool is 32 and bitrate 229
W/BTLD ( 1677): ### :: codec open ::
W/BTLD ( 1677): ### mtu 512, 660 bytes/frame, bitrate 229, nbr ch 0, freq 240
W/BTLD ( 1677): ### alloc : 3, blk len 240, chmode:15, bitpool 32:2, subbands 12
I have the same problem on my sony radio the Bluetooth audio streaming sounds like crap I get a background hiss and crackling on the highs.
I attempted to ask some questions on how to adjust these settings but seems Dev's don't look in the Q&A section no wonder development is always crowded with crap threads.

Have you tried DSPManager yet to see if that helps clean it up? Just a thought.
