CITRIX ICA CLIENT - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hello, Hopefully someone has already had this problem and fixed it.
I am using the Citrix ICA client to launch Applications on my Companies Web Server.
The apps load in okay however they are always launched zoomed into the whole application at once.
Trouble is this makes the Writting very small and difficult to read.
There is a Giant bar at the bottom of the screen with the keyboard icon that takes up far to much room. and on it are the ICA zoom in and out buttons. only thing is they dont work on WM5.
Anybody got any ideas for either hiding the bottom bar or getting the zoom buttons working.
:? :? :?

aajs: with respect to terminal services, see here
I'm working to get a beta version of full screen terminal services out within a week; I've posted that if someone show's me a screenshot of the Citrix client (or sends me a copy of the client paying attention to pirating and copyright issues, and a test server address to test on) I'll have a play with it to see if I can sort it out as well. No promises on time frame though.
V

V,
you can download the Citrix-Client for free from www.citrix.com
Wolfgang

Thanks Wolfgang; I'll try to look into it.
If you've got a screenshot of it running, I'll be able to give you a quick idea if I can fix it. I don't quite understand how the problem looks on your PDA, and can't really install and test it right now.
V

I'd like to send you a sreenshot, but I have still some problems to configure the program.
Citrix tries to connect to http://127.0.0.1 and the MDA tries to open a connection to through the phone instead connecting to the localhost.
I'm searching still (on my Blueangel it worked without any problems)

This is working the way it should. I'm assuming that you're comparing this to the way the Citrix ICA client looks on another PocketPC. Because the Universal's screen resolution is 640x480 you'll be able to see much more of your application than you can with a 'standard' PocketPC who's screen resolution is only 320x240 (or one quarter of the Jasjar's screen). Since the screen on the universal and the screen on most PocketPC's are about the same physical size and you're able to see four times as much information on the universal that has the effect of making everything look much smaller.
Personally, I love the fact that it does this and this is one of the only reasons why I got a universal. It is much more useful to me because you can see so much more information on the screen at once.

The zoom buttons do work, but they don't do what you think. Because the Universal's screen does have those bars on the top and bottom of the screen you don't get the full 640x480 resolution for your Citrix session - you need to scroll up or down to see the parts of the screen that the bars are covering. The zoom buttons can 'shrink' the citrix screen so that the whole height of the screen fits between the two bars - it actually makes the screen smaller so that you don't have to scroll up and down.
As far as I know there is no way to completely hide the bars unless vijay is able to work his magic on them
Brett

Brett, if you've got a screenshot I'll get an idea of what you guys mean.
I'll be working on the Terminal Services client this weekend hopefully, and then I'll see what else can be thrown together!

remote desktop resolution setting - terminal services client

Hi,
I've searched the forum. There are many threads about Terminal Services client problems; however they are in general about full screen availability.
My problem is somewhat different:
I am looking for resolution setting like in the Windows XP Terminal Services client.
Is there any software or hack that enable this ?
I want to be able to manage a bigger area of the remote desktop.
So I need a client which would change the remote desktop resolution setting.
I can't believe that MS didn't put a client with this capability in WM5.
If that's not possible, maybe I cold try to use a virtual screen software that would allow higher resolution on my PPC device with panning ???
Is there some sort of application for this ?
Please DO FOLLOW my articles / DO use the forum / local Wiki search engine - I've also answered your q in both the Wiki and .
In a word: with TSC, you can't.
Read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288506&page=3
Menneisyys,
Thank you I'd already read the first 2 pages but the answer is in 3rd page I guess. I'll read it. I hope there is "hope"
At this moment I have a more urgent problem:
So I'm trying to solve it first...

Sure there is - all the reviewed apps allow for ANY remote desktop resolution; it's only TSC that doesn't.
I have a very bad restriction: I can only use remote desktop protocol because of y work company policy.
It's not much of a solution, but use Nyditot and enlarge your virtual screen size. Then shrink to fit the display, and it'll match your screen resolution.
V
vijay555,
I tried Nyditot and it's impressive. Really nice to see like 640x480
However, I couldn't adjust the screen alignment. My pointer does not go to some areas of the screen. How can I do pointer alignment ?
Ooops I made a mistake.
Now because of Nyditot my device does not boot up.
It stays in the splash screen forever.
Is there anything else then Hardreset ?
mrmrmrmr. I've used Virtual display on a SPV M5000 and with the default rom it would freeze as soon as I booted to enable it and a hard reset was required.
I tried it again after flashing a different rom and it worked a treat. Since then I've loaded various AKU3 roms and now WM6 and Virtual Display has worked with all but that original Rom.
Afraid you'll need to hard reset but try different roms to see if you can find one that VD is compatible with
If you get it working VD will allow much larger screens than 640x480 if you can stand scrolling around.

Recommend a better RDP client

I like some of the new features of Remote Desktop Client for WM6, however, it still lacks a simple feature that i want / need. ( at least i cannot figure it out )
I would like a true full screen client that will actually display my entire remote desktop and if I want to zoom in, it allows me to zoom to where i point the stylus. WM6 version has this but in reverse. I would like the whole window to display a super small version of my whole desktop and if i click somewhere, it would zoom there.
does anyone have any suggetions of software that would do this. I do not mind running a software specific client on my desktop machine.
RDP with your features
Use GoToMyPC. It allows for just this kind of functionality. I liked it, but will be trying the RDP in WM6 to see if that will suffice for me
Logmein is pretty good and free as well. You can scroll around the screen by tapping and holding near the edge of the display. You can also zoom out to see the entire screen shrunk to the display size.
Make sure that you download a file for the PPC (don't recall where I found it, likely in the forums...), or it'll just cycle thru the login screen.
It can be downloaded using the PPC's Pocket IE.

Increase Resolution? - Remote Desktop Mobile

Is there a way to increase the 6800s displayed resolution for remote desktop mobile. Tried all the settings & need to at least double res. Don't see any reg entries that deal with this.
I'd like to second this question.
My wish would be for a remote desktop client that could "zoom out" to view a larger resolution, similar to how the Opera Mini or Picsel browsers work.
Have you guys tried LogMeIn dot com ? Unless I'm confused about your need, this remote client does what you're looking for. It runs my desktop at 640x480 and has a "fit to screen" size option (and 50%, 75%, 100% zoom). Performance is sluggish but usable over EVDO.
As crazy as this sounds, I now surf the internet almost exclusively through logmein.com because I honest to goodness think it's faster than regular surfing. Anyone with a Mogul/Titan that hasn't tried logmein.com and orb are really missing out.

rdp mobile also runs the host at 640x480, we were hoping for a client that would run the host at a higher resolution
I see, I did misread the question a bit. I agree that higher resolution on the desktop side is sometimes desirable. Like rivera I find myself surfing through logmein (doing it right now), but there are a few web sites that assume 800x600 or higher. Looks like I'm a +1 to the original poster now.
I'll try editing rdp mobile exe, see if we can get anywhere.
I tried logmein. I get the PDA site and when I go to the remote desktop or whatever the function it is to go to the desktop it always goes back to the same thing. I could see my files though. Does anyone know what exactly Im suppose to do to see the desktop. Thanks in advance.

VNC is the open source remote desktop client. Your device's resolution is always going to be 320x240 because that's physically how many dots there are. However, many VNC clients for PPC allow you to zoom in/out.
Google it.
ya we know about VNC but i just prefer if i dont have anything external installed. rather used the ones built in the system. and i think RDM runs really fast and really well if they have higher resolution.
Nyditot

Works with WM6 on the Mogul. Make sure you select FIT WIDTH in the options before rebooting and do not select "restart on reset" as you will not be able to get out of a loop if the program messes up the phone. Text is harder to read, and the Today screen looks iffy, but we browsing is better.

WVGA Screen Compatibility Issues!!

I am very concerned about the ability to use basic applications on the Xperia's WVGA screen. I love the screen for DVD watching, but will it prevent me from using my favorite applications?
Can someone tell me if these will work:
Slingbox
Log Me In
Skyfire (when available)
Garmin Mobile XT
I know for the Toshiba G900 there is a program called WVGAfix or something that allows you to convert your screen to 640x480, I think.
Any insight into this problem would be helpful!
Thanks
Rick
If you hook me up with some links where i can download the apps, i can try 'em.. got a X1 infront of me..
Can do the same as well if you want. Currently using Opera and it works great. Wish you could use the pad to scroll around like a mouse though.. too bad.
Where are you guys getting your xperia's from, I'd love to get hold of one albeit pre-production.
Thanks
I am sorry, I don't have that software yet. I was going to wait until I got the Xperia.
In any event, can somebody make a program which you run on Xperia that can make all those VGA specific programs work? LIke there wvgafix for Toshiba G900?
EDIT: wrong thread!
Yeah, where do you guys get your X1s from!.

They might be tricking you - maybe they are like the rest of us - we don't have one yet!
Garmin Mobile XT is working without any problems on X1.
I don't think there will be much problems except navigation software.
I have a Toshiba G900 sind a good year with just this 480x800 and all standard software runs fine. AgendaFusion, TCPMP, TotalCommander, WisbarAdvancedDesktop (most important to me), the SBSH-collection, not to forget the great Softmaker Office which is very usefull with the screen -only navigation software is a problem that sometimes work, sometimes not.
Anyone tried Iguidance 4 with this resolution?
bump, we need to update this thread!
Btw, can someone tell me what are the differences between SPB Mobile Shell and SPB Pocket Plus?
is there any differences between SPB MS panel and the original SPB MS app?
Garmin Mobile XT is working just fine on X1, without any problems.
is advanced configuration 3.3 working for X1?
Yeah, advanced configuration 3.3 is working fine on my X1.
New version of Kinoma play is out and it is compatible with X1.

- Slingbox works OK. The video stream doesn't fill the whole screen (even with the aspect ratio set to 'wide'), and the interface buttons are kinda displayed correctly, but seemed to be actually shifted to the left, as when you press the power button for example, it's in reality a few buttons down. It's kinda hard to explain, but it seems like it's not being displayed at the right resolution, even tho all the images files, seem to be made for VGA (at least they're labeled that way).
- LogMeIn looks beautiful on this screen. And there's A LOT less screen scrolling compared to a QVGA screen, obviously. But compared to my old Tilt, it's a pleasure using LMI on this phone.
- Skyfire doesn't work yet, but you probably already knew that. It immediately crashes or closes down as soon as you try to load it. Hopefully, they'll add W/VGA support, because sites also look amazing on Opera.
- I don't use Garmin, but TomTom 7 looks and performs great. It looks as sharp as it should. Don't know if it's really scaling to the full resolution, but it sure looks like it.
Could you Please Post Pictures Of What The SlingPlayer Mobile Client Looks Like

That was my main concern, how the SlingBox would work with the Xperia X1, so that's good news. If possible could you please post a few pictures of how the SlingPlayer mobile client looks on the Xperia X1, thanks in advance....!

Sky remote record on winmo

Might try this later
Hi Adi,
I used to do use Sky by Mobile for Remote Record on my Kaiser but have never succeeded in getting it to work properly on the TD2.
The issue is that the Java applet requires you to use hardware keys to press the Login and OK softkeys that appear on screen. I've never found a way to do it properly as screen taps are never registered.
That said, if you manage to achieve it then I'd be a very happy man as I am away a lot and often want to do Remote Record easily.
Cheers
John
This is better but looks a right pain!
