I have Qtek 2020 with Spectec Wifi SD card which enables me to access the internet at hotspots....but I cannot receive or send emails. How can I configure my pocket pc for this? It does work via GPRS but that's expensive.
it should use whatever connection picked in
system->connection->connection->advanced->sellect networks
in the drop downbox
called
Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:
Yeah but whether it has my isp or work it's still no go on emails. It uses pocket outlook.

I think I've correctly addressed my e-mail accounts in Pocket Outlook...and Pocket IE is working like a charm via a GPRS connection with my wireless provider. Why is it, then, that when I try to access an e-mail account via GPRS connection I receive the following error message:
Cannot Connect
Unable to connect: Ensure that your Workmodem is present and inserted correctly, and no network card present.

At one time, my Pocket Outlook was connecting just fine via GPRS. Then, my unit (all on its own) went through a hard reset. Since the hard reset, I've not been able to connect Pocket Outlook. Is there a setting within Pocket Outlook that I've got to "flip" in order to get it to "see" the GPRS connection?
Thanks very much.
Ive just got myself a SanDisk WiFi card and its working perfectly for Internet Explorer, Browsing the Network, Email etc. but I cant get it to work with MSN messenger - each time I go to Messenger it either tries to connect via GPRS first OR fails all together.
Anyone know how to do this?
did you choose that you are on the network and not on the cellphone network inside your connections under connections under settitngs ?
Well in settings, under connections/advanced I changed the settings so that the WiFi netowrk card connects to 'The Internet'. I also tried so that it connects to 'Work' but neither of these work for me?!
Hi all,
I have an XDAII from the Spanish carrier Movistar (TSM500). I want the device to access internet. I have WIFI in my office, so I would like to use this infrastructure in the device instead of GPRS.
I have a SDIO card from SOCKET that works correctly with the device and I can connect internet via proxy.
I would like to know how must I configure the connection settings in order to make it transparent. I mean, if there is WIFI the device must use WIFI it not the device has to use GPRS.
Does anybody know the settings I must to apply to the device network configuration (work, internet…) in order to get this WIFI, GPRS priorities?
Thanks and regards from Spain
...and to make your question more complicated, to setup wifi with proxy, gprs with no proxy and mms connection with no proxy. All these together?
so be it - manemoi
T,
Exactly!
Hey Manemoi, that's EXACTLY What I would like!
Is there a way to have the Magician choose this automatically? For instance, I can use my Sandisk SD WiFi 256 only when I set both my ISP and Work settings to an emtpy profile. It then seems to know it should use the WiFi connection available. I can then Internet, send mail Everything! Perfect! When I take out my WiFi card and activate my Active Synch with BlueTooth, it works too, Can internet over Active Synch without problems. But Mail will connect but then not send mail for some reason...
Whenever I want to use GPRS, I gave to goto connections and then manually change the modems there for ISP to my GPRS Modem Setting. Isn't there an easier way? Can't Internet explorer be told to use whatever conection available? Instead of ALWAYS connection to whatever is set under the My ISP setting?
I'd be interested if you ever got an answer to this as I am now at the same point

Anyon e work this out?
Hey,
I'm using a Qtek 2020i which I believe is the same as a xdaIIi. I have a wireless network set up at home and have managed to connect to it with the built-in Wlan device in my Qtek but every time I try to connect to the internet or send/receive emails it tries to connect to gprs even though it shows wifi is connected.
I have read some of the other forum posts here and many of them say to check that my network card is set to connect to the internet however where it says 'my network card connects to' there is only a blank box after it - no option to choose work or internet??
Has anyone got any advice on how to resolve this issue.
Thanks in avdance.
system->Connections->Connections->advanced
and pick the connection of your cellphone isp as the connection for
programs which use internet access
that is already the case so it can't be that I'm afraid
I am having the same problem with my MDA Vario(KJam).
It tries to connect to GPRS even if i have wireless lan connected
anyone know how i can sort this
thanks
As noted in another post, simply creating a dummy gprs connection created a default conne tion instead of the telco gprs.
So, I noticed that my GPRS gets disabled anytime I connect my Cingular 8125 to my computer via ActiveSync. This is annoying since I not only synchronize with my computer, but I also have an account with 4SmartPhone that utilizes the GPRS connection.
Is there a way to have the GRPS radio stay connected so that both will synchronize?
