I have never reached greater levels of frustration. I have reviewed and tried solutions in other posts I found on forum and finally with salvation in sight I have just installed the cab file from imate for Cingular. but I still can't get to GPRS status. I get an error "cannot connect for unkown reason"
CAN ANYONE GIVE ME MY SANITY BACK?

If you tried everything, did you make sure you have gprs activated on your sim card (did you ask vodaphone to do it?)
Also tekguru.co.uk has a lot of details on gprs setup in uk.

I've noticed since I got my XDA IIi that the GPRS seems to 'stick'. It's got worse since I upgraded the ROM and Radio (ver 1.72.00WWE and 1.17.00 respectively).
What happens is that I attempt a GPRS connection but I get a message telling me that the either the dialled number didn't answer or it couldn't connect. However, if I do a 'soft' reset I can connect. The problem seems not to occur if I remain within a cell. ie. once I've done a soft reset at work then it's OK until I go home and vice-versa. Any ideas or suggestions? I did have this problem with the original XDA and when I contacted O2 I got answers which either insulted my intelligence or had a destinct whiff of BS about them but never a viable suggestion.

GPRS Connection problem
Hi ya every one, I am new to this sight. Came accross your GPRS connection problem, I got my XDA II, about month a go, and also have GPRS connection problem, tryed everything my self and had to take it to the telecoms, but still, they gave me all the info but couldnt do it.
This morning however I managed to connect theres wahat I've done
1. Deleated all modem conections
2. Done a soft reset
3. Set up a new ISP modem connection
(theres the impotant bit: this time I didnt set up and IP or DSN in advanced tab, I left them blank.)
tryed to connect, and it worked
So try it, may be that will help
Hopefully someone is on here from the Leeds/Bradford area who is on the T-Mobile network. My MDA Pro had been working perfectly for the last few months and over the last week despite hard resetting and soft resets all I get is an error trying to connect wirelessly.
I get the large U symbol for UMTS but keep getting a connection error  . Went through connection settings with T-Mobile but still no joy.
Anyone else suffering or any other ideas?
All help appreciated. J
I had the same problem on Orange and when I called to question it they told me that their 3G service was "degreaded" in the area I was in.
Can't you call T-Mobile and ask them?
Thanks to the post above. I did report to T-mobile and ask about their network and the polite customer service agent said he was not aware of any service problems.
even more curious is on the coolsmartphone forum an spv m5000 user is reporting exactly the same issue.
Would anyone else with the same issue please report.
thanks j
Settings/phone/band/network type set to GSM in stead of auto, should give you only GPRS I think.
Leaves you without UMTS but helps staying connected?

Hi guys,
whenever i try to connect my imate kjam (wizard,Qtek 9100,MDA Vario, O2 XDA Mini S, SPV M3000, Cingular 8125, T-Mobile MDA, Dopod 838, VPA compact II etc) to my university's wlan, my pda tells me that it is unable to resolve ip. Um perhaps it says unable to find ip, im not sure, i'll check again this arvo and return with my answer.
My uni claims that their system is pda compliant which makes me think that one of my connection settings are wrong.
Before you flame away, i have searched many many threads for this thread using keywords such as wifi, wlan, unable, ip etc, but was unable to find any solution that i havent tried already. Do feel free to offer your advice.
I have a g4 cid-locked wizard running wm6, though i have experimented with a few other roms, but they all offer the same problem.
If anybody has any suggestions i hope you feel free to flame away or kick me in the bum in the direction of where i might find a solution to this problem. If im lacking any info in this post then do feel free to remind me and i'll edit it later.
Thanks guys
problem solved.
How did you solve it?

Just for the sake of learning, would you please tell the community what was causing the problem and how did you solve it?
I am sure the answer to this might be somewhere on this forum, but i have looked for the past hour without finding it.
The problem: My qtek won't get connected to the internet. It keeps coming up with error messages no matter what configurations I put in. Also, although I can receive mms, I can not have it downloaded. I am on vodafone contract.
Can a kind heart out there kindly take me through the steps to get thiese applications working again?
Thanks in advance
