Do as most do before posting a topic in such a forum - SEARCH THE INTERNET.
Within a few seconds, I found these results...
http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=xda exec&sa=N&tab=wi
Just open up Google, search for what you're trying to locate, once your results appear, click IMAGES at the top of the page....
...this really is simple stuff...

is there anyway to use the search function in the archive?
The standard search function will cover the archives.
I always use "search topic" site:forum.xda-developers.com at google... seems to be a little more accurate
its because the default view for this forum is for a days posts..
scroll to the bottom of the page in each wizard forum. The section labled display options. It will says display from 'last day'. Change this to 'begining' and click show threads. I'm sure you can permanently set this in your forum proile (User CP)
I've been reading posts, but i haven't been able to find the download link for this program. Any help would be appreciated.

You might have been reading, but you didn't search
It's all over the place and in the Wiki, good luck.
karloe is absolutely right.
For you and any other novice that happens to see this (and a few who should know better):
It took me literally a few`seconds to get the Bandswitch download location -
1
I went to the Search XDA-Developers using Google sticky post near the top of the messages listing
2
I opened the first search option and entered "bandswitch download" and clicked on search
3
Guess what - top of the list came the download location for Bandswitch! see the list I got with this quick/easy search
http://www.google.com/search?as_q=b...rum.xda-developers.com&as_rights=&safe=images
Now go forth and spread the word - Searching XDA-Developers is a piece of cake!!!!

Hey, apologies for the double post but I figure someone will more likely see this here.
Hi all,
I've noticed that there is a script embedded in the FpseCE (PSX emulator for WM) forums which redirects visitors to either rogue anti virus search results (bing page) or a fake 'your system is infected' script. This sets a cookie which means it won't show up for another 20 days. Both Firefox and IE is affected.
I assume some of the crew behind this emulator are on here or someone knows them, so would someone be able to pass along the message? I don't have time to have a proper look into what's causing it right now, but here's a blog post about this issue - http://www.theprohack.com/2010/04/ne...wordpress.html
If you want to know what I'm talking about, go to http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/ or any page on the forums. You may need to clear your cookies! Once it's viewed, you won't see it again from that page. Remember, it's a scam so for gods sake don't click 'Ok' to anything! Ctrl+Alt+Del to close Firefox if needs be.
Hope that helps.

Edit: Little more info - the rogue script is available on every page on the forum which suggests it's probably lurking in a header somewhere on the page. The main site is unaffected.
The fake rogue scam anti-virus page (hello Google!) is hxxp://gescansecurity.org (with a referral link at the end). This page also redirects to Bing results for 'freeantivirus'
I don't like seeing scammers attempting to take advantage of anyone, let alone XDA, so hope this can get fixed asap!
Anyone having issues with xda right now? I cant access older pages of many threads. I get this message
Invalid Forum specified. This can happen for a variety of reasons-- most likely because the thread or post you are trying to view has been moved or deleted. Please return to the forum home and browse for another similiar post.
Thanks for your post. We just switched this forum over to English URL's and this problem is likely related. I will report to the server administrator.
Ii've found the links at the bottom of multi-page threads to the other pages in that thread doesn't work but the links at the top do work.
Yup - its a bug on the bottom navigation - use the top one for now and we should have this fixed up soon.

The "go to first unread post" links from the user control panel subscriptions do not work as well. Thanks for looking into it!
Hi,
is there a possibility to avoud the popup/prompt when turning on and off the Flightmode? That's a bit annoying. Same when setting a standard app.
Thanks for every Tip
Cheers
Basler
You need to make a smali edit in system.ui to remove this nag.
Did you do a forum search? There are threads explaining exactly how to do this.
.
Sorry, i don't find guides. Searching for prompt or flightmode don't give me topics that explain what to do.
Would be thankful for a little hint.
Cheers

Only trying one or two keywords is a poor search technique. It would only take 20 seconds to try three or four different keywords. Try to use standard terminology too, not slang or idiosyncratic constructions. Reading the Samsung site or posts all over XDA would quickly tell you that "airplane mode" is the description that the vast majority of people use, not "flightmode".
And what do we wish to do? Make a mod or find a guide on how to remove the airplane mode nag /popup /warning /message on XDA, right? So lets start with about four keywords and see if we get any search hits. We can use less or more keywords or use different keywords depending on how good our results are.
Google search: mod guide remove airplane XDA
Top search result. All of the details you could possibly need.
Enjoy
