Guys i know that this subject has already been adressed many times, but it is becoming a REAL problem for some of us (like me )
I have an XDA o2 that i have upgraded using qtek rom and Radio Stack, now i want to install back o2 radio and it seems IMPOSSIBLE... it is always failing at 1%, and if i keep the Qtek radio GPRS won't work anymore with the new O2 ROM...
Any solution?
After having tried o2 4.21 and T-Mobile 3.23 on my xda without satisfying success I am asking what is the most advanced Radio Stack at the moment (to work with PPC2003).
Since the the Qtek came on the market very lately I suppose that their Radio Stack is the most developed. Am I right ?
If yes, where can I download it ?
I only found the ASIA/PACIFIC RSU Version here in the forum and I heard that you need an Asian IMEI for this.
Upgrading my xda to PPC2003 (Yorch's) solved most of my problems but not all (losing signal from time to time).

I have an O2 XDA with radio version 4.08 installed (from new). Occasionally the handsfree feature does not work (by pressing the green telephone button). Would the official Radio Stack upgrade to vers. 4.21 solve this? Is it easy/safe to do this upgrade (without ugrading the ROM)as suggested on the O2 XDA web site?
I dont think there is any link between the handsfree and the radio stack, my advice is to leave it alone if you are not experiencing any signal problems.
Wavey86,
I would not do it. There are so many people having problems with upgrading RSU including mine.

I upgraded my RSU to O2 4.21 and experience very bad phone behavior: keeps losing the signal, and needs to restart all the time to get it back.
Could I ask you to dump you 4.08 RSU ROM and send it to me please?
Thanks in advance
hi guy, trying to upgrade my daughters xda. it has t-mobile 4.01.00 eng radio 4.21.x1
i have cooked a wm2003se rom from lumpistefan and when i try to use ostools i get incorrect file size, if i use activsynch and run the exe i get communication failure.
i am tearing my hair out as the problem is it drops the gsm signal and doesnt get it back without searching for the network. it may just need a radio upgrade and if so what is the current uk gsm radio stack?
cheers.
I think 4.21 is the latest radio stack. I have upgraded an xda with the same radio and rom as you without problems, however I downgraded back to 2002 as I had too many problems with wm2003se.
Are you using a usb hub, if you are then try plugging direct to usb port.
I have always had signal problems with O2 on my xda also, never found a cure, I just check it regularly, also I changed the network from auto to manual and it seemed to work better.

Wm2003SE could only be upgraded via EXE-file. If you got an error 011, you have to downgrade your existing ROM first....

Once I had a worse problem - while upgrading to SE the statusbar stopped at 0% and after a short time I got an error even though the connection was OK from the beginning. Downgrade really helped.
Can anyone help me? I'd like to downgrade the Radio version on my P3300. Due to a bluetooth problem in WM6 see thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353071, my carkit won't recognise my connection on the Artemis.
Maybe, by downgrading the Radio version to a WM5 version, I'd might solve the problem?!
Is there someone out there who can provide me a 'old' version?
Fred
Older radio-versions can be found here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_RadioUpgrades (listed from oldest to newest). Radio 02.98.90 works fine for me, I had some issues with 03.07.90 on battery use. You can just try it out, doesnt need a hard reset.
what are the radio upgrades good for anyways? i still dont know it.

Like in a Desktop PC you can run different Versions of OSs (Windows XP\Vista, Linux, Mac) and still change Firmware Versions of Hardware Components (Disk Drive, WLAN Chip, Soundcard) indipendently.
The Radio ROM Only affects the Radio Unit of a device, maybe affecting the battery duration time or increasing Call Quality or whatever has to do with the radio part of a phone. However it is independend from the OS.
if i try one of those radio upgrades, would it affect (for example) the SDHC patch i installed on my phone (P3300 wm6)?
any info page/link on what exactly each release of radio upgrades improves, and a how-to to install it?
