This is a minor annoyance, but its forcing me down the root of a hard reset to get rid of it.
Not sure when it started, I think after I tried Phonealarm and removed it, but not sure. However, for the last week every time I press the red "End Call" button I get a tinny beep sound. I suppose its good it confirms I have ended the call but its driving me nuts and I would like to remove it.
Does anyone know how this can be done (reg etc) without having to hard reset my device?
You can silence it by switching the keypad sound off. (Phone/Tools/Options/Keypad: Off) But this will silence the entire keypad though, obviously.
Thanks. Yes I tried that but as you say is silences all. Looks like a hard reset / rebuild

thanks for posting it, don't have the problem but if I get it in the future I'll know where to look
when removing programs try to remove them from activesync, it cleans up some of the mess a phone uninstall would leave behind.

Many thanks, that had bugged me as well, I can't tie it down, though I think it started when I unlocked the sim and installed the new radio as part of the unlocking process.
beginner at this
Thanks for posting the solution, but as a beginner, how do i find this to remove it?
Appreciated once again!

Sorry If I am sounding like a noob. I'm having the same problem with the annoying beep when I press the End button.
Am I supposed to delete the "Ending" Folder? When I remove the contents of the "Sound" key inside the Ending folder and reboot, the sound is still there.
Thanks

Mike,
Thanks. Worked like a charm. This just randomly started one day. Same thing happened to my 8125 several months ago. Do you have any idea what causes this to start?
Thanks,
Phil

Pleased it worked As to a reason, it was probably some application or other, but tracking that down could be a lifes work. Sometimes you come across the answer just by accident. To put it scientifically, it's just one of those things

Hi Guys,
I'm having a love-hate relationship with my 3-week-old HTC Hermes.
Everything's OK except that I get a flurry of spurious reminders/vibrates over a 5 minute period when I soft reset the device (which I have been doing a lot while testing software).
I know that, historically, alarms and reminders on 'Pocket PC' devices have been a bit dodgy but this takes the biscuit! I have tried clearing dupes using the Scarybear utilities but this has not made a difference.
When the phone vibrates/pings, there's no pop-ups/messages to clear so it's not possible to tell what has invoked the reminder.
Apart from a hard reset, any ideas?
Thanks
linker3000
Did you ever get an answer to this one? - I'm having the same problem.
J
Me too! I had to do a hard reset!!!
I have this too. Sometimes checking for dupes with Memmaid helps. What's strange is that if you leave it for 10 mins it magically stops...
I always get it, and it always stops after about 10minutes. it started after i was trying to get the worthless alarm clock to work. I installed SBD Alarm (or whatever its called) and then realised that didnt work, so i removed it. never been right since.
SK Tools solved my problem:

Good luck.
J
Alarms..
Someone has already mentioned memmaid, but only for checking for duplicates.
You can actually look at the notification queue and see if there are any notifications that are for programs that you have uninstalled.
Don't just delete all the notifications - or anything like that.. as it can stop things working.

And it doesnt shows the home screen, like the digital clock, the weather, the shortcuts and the buttons for contacts, mail, settings etc. what should I do with it

Well, this sounds familiar Same thing happened to me countless times after installing various things. The only solution would be a hard reset (If you don`t know the procedure do a search on the forum). Remember to back up your data! I can't comment on Navigon, never tried it.Try to uninstall and launch sense again.Do a soft reset and if it still doesn't work, try a hard reset. It`s the only solution I can think of now so... ) Good luck !
First off, do a search for "unable to launch HTC sense".
Try the possible solutions in that thread.
Try also booting without SD card.
Manually disabling / re-enabling sense.
Uninstalling CHT (if you use it)
Hard reset may be required however these things can usually be solved without one if you have the time and patience.
Hope that helps.
Uninstalling CHT finaly did the job. I was ready to hard reset my HD2. Pffff.....
Tnx for the info conantroutman.

Every time I open the clock app and try to set an alarm the app crashes. It freezes and the just says "Clock has stopped". I´ve tried to clear cache and restarted the phone twice, still doesn't work.
Anyone else having the same problem and have a solution for it?
Thanks!

Have you tried to delete cache + Dalvik (I don't know how to do this if not rooted, so you have to ask somebody if you don't know how too) ?

Nope, have not tried that! I'm having some other problems with my phone right now (smearing) and will probably go and try to change the phone.
Still very thankful if anyone has any tips on how solve this problem!
same problem here
and i surely don't want to wipe
got any solution?
Not a solution but it is worth cleaning all the alarms setup (if there are any).
Going to settings/More/Date and Time and changing the auto time on/off, time zone on/off and the other settings. I.e. just changing everything to manual or to auto dependant on your current settings to see if that helps reset something.
Worth a try before a reset at least.
Battery out for a min and restart too maybe?
I did a factory reset a couple of hours ago. When I first started the clock app worked like a charm, and I thought everything was back to normal. BUT!
When I changed the ringt one to one of my mp3s on the phone (selecting via settings and then ES File Explorer) the clock problem started again! When I try to change ring tone again back to one of Androids, the green android-guy under ring tone, the phone stops and a pop up that says "The process android.process.media has been stopped" shows up.
I have no idea how to "undo" it again. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do? Just re-installed like 80 apps and set my phone back to normal again, and changing my ring tone was like the last thing, and that just F'ed everything up.
It doesn't bother me That much since I can use another ring tone and set my alarms with the "AlarmClock Plus"-app. But it's still anyoing as hell and I would really like to solve it!

I tried that, but it didn't help. Maybe you got some new ideas with the new info in my post above?
***UPDATE***
Got it to work by having my Mp3-song selected as ring tone, and then move it to another folder. Both the clock and the ring tone-changer works fine now.
Now I just need to come up with a way to ge my ring tone back
EDIT: I solved it by making my Mp3-file into a Wav-file. Don't know if it's just that file or all Mp3-files. Cased closed for my problem at least, woho!

This trick of moving the bad ringtones to another folder worked and saved me tons of work if I had to factory reset the thing. One small addendum, after moving the files I had to clear data and cache for the clock app before it allowed me to create or edit an alarm again.

This part didn't work for me. My own ringtones were .ogg files and even when I converted them to .wav files, both the clock app and the android ringtone selector kept crashing. I set my own ringtones using the ES File Explorer too, maybe, just maybe something went wrong there or maybe the files were simply too big in size. I don't know.
However, I did solve my problem in the following way:
1) having root access is necessary for this method to work
2) using a root-enabled file explorer or using a root-enabled terminal to copy your own ringtones to /system/media/audio/ringtones, /system/media/audio/notifications or /system/media/audio/alarms respectively.
3) chmod 644 for these new files (not sure if this is really needed, but I guess it can't hurt)
4) reboot the phone (absolutely necessary as apparently it loads all available sound files at boot time only)
5) set your ringtones for any apps using the android ringtone selector. Your own ringtones should now appear in this list.

Wow thanks that worked. ... nice...!!!! Thanks +1
I had the same issues. In my opinion "ES Browser" was the reason for this bug. To fix it, i removed "media storage"-app. After a few reboots all libraries (Pictures, Music...) got filled again.
Clock and ringtone now working again.
I Know its an old thread, but i was having trouble with my Galaxy s6 clock.
I solved the Problem by changing the theme. Propably it will work for you aswell
Hello,
I was recommended to your site from CNET.
I need help with this. I have a Windows Phone (Samsung Focus) and all of a sudden it has stopped deleting history. I've tried everything.
I slide up the bottom screen in IE to show "tabs, recent, favorites etc..." I tap recent, tap the trash can icon, tap delete at the "are you sure" message and nothing happens.
Then I go into settings>applications>IE>delete history and tap delete at the "are you sure" message and nothing happens again.
I've closed out of the tabs. I've turned off the phone and on again. I've removed the battery and sim card and replaced it. Nothing seems to work.
I've done internet searches and they don't help as well.
Does anyone have any idea on how I can get my phone to delete the IE history again?
Thank you for your help.
Normally these should be deleted when you press [delete history]. I believe there is either a bug (in ROM) or it has something to do with the memory card (if you have one). A hard reset might solve your issue.
Thank you
Thank you for your response. I did have to reset it back to factory settings. It's working better now.
