I have two IMAP accounts configured in the messaging app in my Jasjar. They're both set to automatically poll (I've tried a number of intervals from 5 minutes to 30 minutes). However, WM5 on my Jasjar only seems to automatically poll whichever account is active. If I go to the inbox of my personal email account then I'll never get new emails in my work account. If I'm in the inbox of my work account I'll never get new emails in my personal account.
This is my first PPC device, but it's my understanding that this is how things worked in WM 2003 SE and earlier, so I figured that it was the same in WM5. However, several people with Imate K-Jams (also WM5) are reporting on howard forums that their devices will automatically poll all of their accounts no matter which one is active. I've tried deleting and reconfiguring my email accounts and even hard resetting and reconfiguring and I still can't get this to work. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a difference in the messaging app between the K-Jam and the Jasjar.
Is anyone else with a Jasjar (or other universal) able to automatically poll more than one IMAP or POP3 account?
Thanks,
Brett

Finally got my hands on the M5000, but I'm having real problems with email.
The first account I set up is fine, but whenever I make another, it screws up the app. It loses all options in the 'switch accounts' menu until I kill the app and start again.
And when I finally get into it, the inbox for the account mirrors one of the other accounts on the phone (email or sms) and just doesnt work.
Any ideas? Or any other email programs, preferrably one that supports html email?
Thanks.
I use WebIS mail.
Version 2.11 works with WM5 reasonably well. Theres a beta that supports WM5 and should be a full version by the end of the month they say.
One of the few mail clients that works for my IMAP4 and SSL account.
So is anybody else having trouble deleting emails with the TyTN's PocketOutlook (not activesync because I already have an activesync account)? I use Fusemail, IMAP4, and have the delete settings set to delete immediately.
However, the next time my account syncs all the deleted emails come back. This doesn't happen to emails that I move to another fodler though
WTH????
This is a problem with how MS have implemented IMAP in P Outlook. I dont think it properly supports the Purge command which will remove emails permanently.
So, I guess that means that I gotta use Flexmail then...lovely
well two things, I found that Flexmail didn't run very well on my TyTN. Secondly, I found that by changing the deletion action to returning the mailbox rather than move to next message, I am able to press and hold the scroll wheel to bring up the menu options which is working out for me
Have you tried the new version of FlexMail? Any improvements?
I'm new to WM, so all I used was the '07 version. Functionality was improved, but it really slowed down my unit. Plus, it didn't integrate as well as I would have liked.
I have tries a few tools (sktools, webis tobox) and am not able to find any toll that will purge my acitve sync storage so that I can resync it again.
(I copied a mail form a pop account to the active sync storage and the frmat makes syncing inpossible).
Any smart people out there that know of a purge application for mail (have one for PIM).
PS search does not help much (for me anyway)
I installed the latest flexmail, and it was crap, then on uninstall I couldn't get outlook to work again...wouldn't even start, could be somethin I did....but I would recommend just getting a pop addy, or any other client than flexmail.
FlexMail 2007
I am fairly new to WM and IMAP, and I also had trouble with FlexMail the first couple of times I installed in on my TyTN, but I have just reinstalled it and made sure that I did NOT set it as my default client for Mail or SMS. Seems to be working much better and I am not getting the strange behavior that I had before (ie inability to disable Mail button even in sleep mode, not receiving voicemail SMS notification, etc.)
The one thing that does not seem to be working as advertised is IMAP IDLE mail check. I thought that it would wake up my unit from sleep mode but that does not appear to be happening.
Best,
FlexMail is undergoing a work over and has a beta out that is being looked at by a few beta testers.
It has an issue with IMAP (and a few others)

Short Question:
Does the integrated Outlook in WM5 or WM6 XDA Live support IMAP idle?
I have two premium (paid) Hotmail accounts, and two POP that I need to access regularly.
AFAIK, Pocket MSN can only do one Hotmail account simultaneously (without having to switch accounts).
Is there an easy way to access them all easily (a la Blackberry). I'm no even asking for Push here (which is seriously advertised everytime I reset my x7500 but does not work).
I also tried Windows Live. Apparently this "state of the art just out of beta" thing asks you to switch between hotmails accounts too.
Sorry for whining, but this is all SO easy on a Blackberry... But at the same time Blackberries are ridiculously limited devices on other aspects compared to WM ones.
Having this working on WM is a must for business users.
Thanks for any help!
well u need to make a SECOND ACCOUNT and it should be a POP3 protocol account and must enter the pop3 settings manually yourself to make one...
Pocket MSN allows you to login to only ONE hotmail account at a time but several POP3 ones.
In Blackberry land you can have several Hotmail AND several POP3 accounts at the same time (not to mention pushed to your device almost in real time) with only one login. You get ALL you emails from every account in one shot (specially Hotmail and MSN)
I was looking for something similar with the x7500.
While we're at it. Can anyone, already using the new 'Windows Live Mail' on his Athena, confirm if this one will allow this? PocketMSN clearly does not.
Try HTTPMail Provider
I could never get Pocket MSN to work, so use the HTTPMail Provider for my Hotmail email. I think you can do more than one account with it. More details here: http://kripster.blogspot.com/2007/04/accessing-msn-mail-on-pocket-pc.html

I have 2 mail accounts 1 is an exchange server the other is Imap both business,
The exchange server account works perfectly.
The Imap account however has no option to receive messages as they arrive. Only the crap scheduling options which i refuse to use.
The Imap account is not Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo. It is my own server on my own domain so I have control over everything and it does support push.
The strange thing is I have a basic SE (and when I say basic I mean it) that I use when I'm out, and that uses my Imap account with push perfectly . I also had a HTC TyTN ii with the exact same setup as I'm trying to configure on my HD2 and that supported push on my Imap account.
At first I thought it might be a limitation on the HD2 to only have one push connection active at any time. So I removed my Exchange account and re-setup my Imap account on its own, but still no option for collect items as they arrive.
Am I missing something or has anyone else come across this problem.
There is no native support for IMAP push in Windows Mobile, unfortunately. You need a third-party solution like Seven for that. By default you only get push with Exchange, and that is limited to only one account.
Thanks that well and truly cleared that up. I must not have had it set-up on my TyTN ii then, just thought I did.
Any chance you could post a link with details of seven tried searching google for
seven winmo app
but just got lots of stuff about winmo 7.
Thanks
forget that found it

hhmmm how stupid do I look
whenever I upgrade a ROM I reinstall my BB software and everything works. Prob is I can never see older emails than the moment I install the software. I would like to see, say, the last 2 weeks worth of emails (in all folders)
Anyone know how to do this?
I am not familiar with the blackberry applications...but Is this a pop3 account or other based email account? If so I have had problems in the past with my phone or outlook not saving a copy of the emails on the host server. It would delete them when it checked my mail.
Maybe a setting in the way your program is setup to check the email?
