osimagetool - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hi,
I have a qtek 1010 with ppc2002 os. I tried to backup my rom using osimagetool using my home computer but could not. Always got a msg like destination not found or bootloader not found. I was thinking that the cause was bootloader 5.22 but today i syncronised on my office computer and i surprisingly backed up the rom without any problems. Both my home and office computers are running on windows xp with sp2.
Also on my home computer when i tried to backup my rom on an sd card vvia a card reader/writer, bootloader seemed to back up but osimage gave an error as "could not find the path" when i tried to save it on hd.
What may be the difference between 2 computers causing osimage not to work properly?
I will be glad if someone can tell possible reasons.
Thanks

ROM - Bring life to a Dead SX56

Here's the situation:
Siemens SX56. (AT&T) (wanting to use w/T-Mobile)
2 days ago, I updated the SX56 ROM with the 1.1 update from the Siemens website, via USB.
Successful. No problems.
Yesterday, I tried to load the great XDA 1.1 ROM.
Began the update via USB, ActiveSync,
then I 'lost connection' about a minute or 2 into the update.
I'm unable to re-establish connection.
Now, the SX56 is hung on "Upgrading..this may take 5 min...."
I have concluded that I must use an SD card now.
I have an SD card.
I have Wallaby Bootloader v5.15
I don't think it will do me any good to copy the CE+BOOT TO SD,
since it doesn't work.
My PC experience tells me to:
1. Format the SD card, and make it bootable.
2. Put the file XDArit.exe on the SD card.
2. Put the files from the XDA 1.1 ROM on the SD card.
3. Boot the SX-56 to the SD Card.
4. Launch XDArit.exe OR start.bat.
BUT, as I've discovered, this isn't a PC.
And also, it seems like the instructions on the Wallaby Bootloader
are geared for making a backup, and like an idiot, I did not make a backup before starting.
And when I have tried to run the XDArit from my PC, it finds the SD card,
and wants a NB1 file, (and I have to change file type to a NBF file, because I don't have a NB1 file)
but when I try to save it to the SD card, I get an error 'Failed to open device'. (but my XP machine sees, reads and writes to the SD card from explorer just fine.)
If anyone could help me shift my 'PC' thinking into the XDA way of thinking, I would be most thankful. What am I missing here?
Thank you very much!
u should read carefully other thread linked this prob,
u dont need to rename nbf to nb1, just using xdarit to write sd card, use nbf file in wince box and/or bootloader (think dont need to overwrite the bootloader), go to boatloader n choose restore SD
before doing that, batt must full

Problem Upgrading

Please help me! I have searched through the forum but did not see a possible solution.
I was upgrading my Qtek from 3.18.04 to 4.02.04. The ROM upgraded but after the reset the screen is frozen on the MS Windows Powered screen. Device is recognised by the PC (Windows XP) by active sync (4.0) connection is not established.
I tried using the XDATOOLS to transfer the NK.nbk file but can get it to boot from the SD. How do I make the device pick the file from the SD Card?
Would appreciate any help. Thanks

problems installing tomtom6

I picked up tomtom 6 off ebay and want to install it on my wizard(original WM5 rom). Of course I've run into a few snags.
first I'm running off a macbook, using missing sync. usually I have no problems with the setup.
I installed Tomtom HOME on my computer, plugged the wizard in and nothing. It can't find it. I tried using an SD card, and get the same results.
I've tried coping ttn_ppc.cab file off the CD rom to the SD card and I get errors on the PDA when I tried to install it.
So somewhere I've got software that isn't communicating with each other. Any ideas how to work around this?

Can't Connect to Active Synce/Window Mobile Center

Does anyone know why when I plug the phone in that the computer says USB Device Not Recognized?? I have done all the trouble shooting that HTC and HTC wiki states. I just need to get some sort of connection so I can load a ROM into it and without an activesync connection i'm screwed! Please help!!
activesync isn't needed if you flash from the phones bootloader using sd card or usb.
ok here's the stupid question, bootloader meaning the rainbow screen? also do i just load the RUU onto a sd card and open it up from the phones file explorer?
I just bought a computer that has windows 7 on it and I cant get it to recognize my 6800 also. Any suggestions to correct this?

if you put the rom in on a card and go to bootloader it should find it for you.

Issue With T-Mobile G1

Hello There,
Hope everyone is fine. I am having following issues with my T-Mobile G1 running Android 1.6 original
1. Every time i connect USB with my phone and Laptop & mount the SD card, the phone goes into mass storage mode however when i try to copy files in it, the file copying process is failed and Phone unmounts itself while copying is in progress. However, smaller files less than 500 kb are copied successfully.
2. when phone is locked (gesture lock) the CLI (Calling number or name) is not displayed
Try formatting your SD card.
I tired all and even inserted new memory card but no change
Does the card have the same problem if you connect it directly to your computer (not through the phone)?
Well i didn't tried it but the card is working fine on other phones
Let me guess you're using Windows?
Had this same problem.... Multiple times.
1. Never worked on my fiancees computer.
2. Worked on mine - with problems here and there.
3. Motherboard fried - whipped out old computer and works perfectly.
Micro$oft sucks.
Yup i am using Windows 7.

Well, from my experience, it's random. I'm using Windows 7 atm and it works perfect. Old computer with Windows 7 was iffy at times. Windows just plain out sucks.
