Can anybody please tell me why these settings seem to turn themselves off despite been selected/ticked?
Oh and how to keep them permanently on?

The LowBatteryWarning sond option dissapeared from the Settings/Personal/Sounds&Notifications menu.
Any idea how I can get it back to change the sound of LBW-message?
Thx
1. The XDA II doesn't have a low battery warning, never did. It has one at 20%, but not the typical 40% as well.
2. Every other PPC had to enable with a registry tweak to allow it to show up there. See this:

I see it, thx, but the point of my question was how to change the sound of this notification.
Or in XDAII no any LowBatteryNotification in the Sounds&Notifications menu?
Yeah...right
Can you see how idiot I am?
I just read your link after my stupid answer...
So, now I have this notification...
Thank you

I'm using XDA Mini. When I turn ClearType ON in Settings/System/Screen and OS displays ClearType Font in Portrait mode only. When I'm in Landscape mode, system font is displayed same as ClearType OFF.
Is there anyone got same problem?
I've already found the answer by myself: to turn on ClearType in Landscape mode of WM2003SE modify this DWORD value:
HKLM/System/GDI/ClearTypeSettings/OffOnRotation=0
But why does Bill Gates turn it off by default?

Hi...
if tomvdz's software didn't work, then do it by urself
Using a registry editor, goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds,ull find Dtmf(x),where x is a number from 0 to 9,edit each one of them by doing the following:
 rename the DWORD Value "Sound" to "Sound1"
 create a new String Value and name it Sound, and put *vibrate* as string(note that the asterix arround vibrate is a must...
 do the same to the other Dtmfs(u have to redo it 10 times)
 note that if u want the "#" and "*" in ur phone keypads to vibrate,u have to do the same procedure to Dtmf# and Dtmf*
Cheers....
RAGO
They doesn't work both!
any other ideas?

This didn't work for me either.
what is this good for?
hmm, that's odd, on my Vario it worked! I think the posted file contains two cabs. The vibrate one gives you key virabtion, the keysound cab gives you the sounds back if you decide that you don;t want vibration...Don't use both, because the last one you use overwrites the first one. So if you want vibration, than only install vibrate.cab! To go back to keysounds, use the keysound cab again.
It finally worked. The catch was that apparently I had turned off keyboard souds in the Options menu of the Phone application. I toggled that back on and it worked. I didn't realize that the vibration was also controlled by that option.
Oops, sorry, forgot to mention that. I had the same problem when I installed it on my Magician half a year ago. It uses the same reg keys as for the sounds, so if the keyboard sounds are off in the options it also shuts down the vibrations.
By the way, now that they keypad sound is toggled on, the phone vibrates not only on number presses but also call begin and end. Is there a way to toggle that part off, but still keep the number dialing vibration?
I've heard about a program that vibrates when the person you are calling picks up, so you can hold your ppc in the hand while calling and waiting to vibrate then hold it to the ear.
anyone knows about that software? For the symbian platform its called FreeCallSprite Dial-up vibration software.
I have it just need to search on my vault!!!
Lol ok click on my htc SKYdrive IMAGE in my signature it tooks you to my public folder with my cabs there is one download it it works on my old wizard. or download the TrukQteka exe it has many tricks and allows you to set vibrate pad. is called "phone_pad_vibrate.cab" and set short tones on phone setting please.
I dont heard about that app? but for symbian? not for PPC WINMO!
Hi,
I've owned the Xperia for a week and it's a great WinMo device. However unlike Touch Pro or Diamond, there's no registry tweak available to turn off the auto wake up on new sms feature.
I found it really annoying. Everytime a new SMS arrived when the phone was in my pocket the screen automatically turned on, and as I was walking my jeans' pocket continuously "touched" on the phone screen and accidentally opened bunches of programs and scroll up and down until it hanged.
It will be perfect to just make sound + vibrate, but keep the screen off, as I could do on Touch Pro.
Anyone knows of such a solution please do help!
I need to bump on that...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
aint advanced config 3.3 working for that?
I was having this problem too... the only thing I changed to attempt to fix this was instead of pressing the power button to sleep the phone before I put it into my pocket, I press and hold the end key so that it locks the phone and dims the screen. The screen eventually turns off and it requires you to unlock the phone when you power it back on. When you receive an SMS or Email, the screen still lights up, but you have to press unlock, then tap unlock to start using it.
Yes, I have the same problem too and hope we can have the option to turn it off so that the screen will not lighted up when there is new sms or call.
Can someone work on this?
The registry key used for the tweak that works on Touch Pro does not exist, which is HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL

That option is for Touch Diamond and Touch Pro only, and it does not show on Xperia when you use Advanced Config. It's obviously related to the registry key mentioned above.
I have found the solution, just need to use any registry editor like the Resco Registry Explorer or the SKTools to edit the registry.
Dont want the device to wake up on new SMS ?
It still notifies you with sound/vibrate/LEDs, but the screen will not turn ON
Just add in the below line into the registry location :
[HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1
Has anyone tried this out to see if it works...???
Cheers

I have tried it myself and it works, I don't have to worry that I might press anything on the screen when there is incoming SMS.
Thanks for getting back to me...
I was having this problem... when in my pcoket and getting tx message and the opt pad going all over the screen... kinda funny...
Im assuming when updating this key will be deleted and have to be put in again???
Thanks

Not sure about yours but I do not have this key so I have to create a new one and it is working.
I need to create it...
Does it need to be where the
HKCR
HKCU
HKLM
are???
Cheers
Sorted now and working well...
Thanks again
Put it in HKLM.
However Resco registry give me an error and doesn't create this dword. Very very strange...

Using your Registry Explorer an go to the below location :
Location in Registry : HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Select "New" D_Word and you will be asked to enter the details :
Top portion just enter : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent
and bottom portion just enter the value : 1
Save it and you should find the details there :
[HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1
For easier way, you can download the latest Xperia Tweak and it include the option to turn off the screen for any incoming sms.

Confirmed Work!
I can confirm this solution works perfectly! I thought if the value does not exist means the device does not support it. Thanks chongbh!
Ist it normal, that the screen doesn't turn on when a textmessage comes in? Only the notification ringtone sounds.
Look at the Tips and Tricks thread, there was a reg edit to fix that.
My SMS question is why it doesnt vibrate when i've turned off the screen and set it to vibrate?
thnx insaneboy
I would like to have the screen turn on, but I cant see anything in the tips thread
SMS Switch on
hey..i used to have a diamond..ive found a lot of the tweaks work from that..if you look in htc diamond under tweaks..you'll see it there..works fine

Use a registry editor and change the value HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent from "1" to "0".
