I have a Jasjar and when i reset it delete my pop3 account from the listed accounts but when I reinsert it with the same name (es. POP3 MSN) it says me "name already used" and I have to choose another name.
I have just used 7 or 8 names... There is a method to delete this "ghost" account from registry or other settigns file? I searched the registry with "pop3" or account name keys but I found nothing.
Please help me...

I've successfully set up a couple of pop3 accounts on my XDA Exec, but I let the name of the 1st one default to POP3, and now I can't change it - that option is greyed out when you go through the account options to reconfigure. I can find no way of deleting it elsewhere. Can anyone tell me how to rename or delete the account?
Thanks
When in options select the account as you would if were trying to edit. Select "Fn + Space" you'll get a delete menu
Many thanks jah, totally sorted!
Hello,
I seem to be having a problem with the built in email client on my XDA Exec. Every so often the built in Outlook Mail Client seems to "loose" my POP 3 account. However when I try to add it back in it tells me that:
"That name is already assigned to another account. Enter a unique name and try again"
Now I could keep adding it back in with a different name each time but that is a pants solution. Any thoughts as to how I can permanently fix this issue?
I have trawled through the registry but cannot find within it the name I used when I created the POP3 account.
[I have also noticed that it seems to loose the registration information for SunnySoft Back up as well!]
Many thanks
Change name POP3 in account configuration step 1 or 2 to another like mail1, mail 2. You have to use different names for settings

Click to collapse
if only it was that simple. The original entry is no longer visible! So I cannot change it. And I cannot see it in the registry to delete it either. Any idea where does Pocket Outlook store its config information?
No i don't know
losing email accounts
Did you ever see "No GSM" when soft reset? Then get your machine replaced. Check my postings.
Hi,
can anybody tell me, its possible to delete the both Entry from the message-Box? I do not need these.
thanks!
Open MSN and delete the user profile. Now your Hotmail acount will be deleted from your device.
The standard mailbox will be always there. This is a mailbox from Active Sync. I don't think it's possible to delete this.
Thanks!
Hi,
My device below.
I have 4 email accounts setup on my jas jar.
When I go Start > messaging >
I only see three of them. So I figure I deleted one by mistake.
So I go to set it up again, with the same POP3 name, and WM5 tells me I already have account set up with that name. But I dont see it on the summary screen of email accounts.
I sent an email to this account, and nothing happens when the email gets there.
Any ideas on how to show it, or delete it and reset it up again???
Thanks in advance..
Hello,
I have a very similar problem on MDA III so I want to delete my account and all emails.
I tried to ...
... delete all messages and the account in Pocket Outlook.
... delete all files in Windows > Messaging
... delete all entries for this account in Registry > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > System > State > Messages
Unfortunately that all doesn't work. After a Softreset all messages and the account appears again.
Can anyone help us?
Christian
I was viewing email accounts in landscape view and they were not all visible. You could see them all in portraite view.
It seams that Wm5 Messages can only hand about 3 or 4 email accounts.
Hi,
I would like to delete an Email account but I don't find it in my settings (Messaging - select an account) ; I know that it exists because when I try to setup a new Email account, I am receiving the message " This Email account exists already).
I don't know where are the settings for Email accounts. I have searched in the registry but haven't found it.
