Lo Fella

hehe, lo micky

Now all you gotta do is make a shortcut called "sesame.lnk" so you can press the voice command button and say "Open sesame"... 8)
Other possibilities include "fire.lnk", "the gates of hell.lnk" or "a can of whoop-ass.lnk"

...it's always the same people - everywhere...

wow... what alot of help. you are wise beyond your years. oh btw... i did try searching first.
not just trying to pick on you in particular... but it's so annoying when people reply to threads with this response. it just shows ignorance... if you can't contribute then don't post! they just assume the person hasn't searched.... or.... or... or they don't take the TIME to read the question the person is asking. alot of the time the question is different from what's arleady been posted. i think i'm done ranting.

How lame...
I agree with jcrew...
Read the question someone is asking before you lambast them for repeating an already answered question... :?
The question jcrew has asked is fundamentally different that what has been asked in regards to the BT problems with VC before...and NO it has not been answered here yet.
My 2c...

thanks for the help... but unfortunately this will not work either. this was the first thing that i tried when i purchased the headset. it does allow ms voice command to be called up with a headset, but only certain ones. my headset still does not work with this program. it's a conflict of sorts with some headsets and ms voice command. thanks again though.

First, MS Voice Command doesn't record voice tags... it's a voice recognition program. Reading the docs that accompany the program may explain this. Second, you didn’t search hard enough ‘cause Feb 18th I posted a question on this subject in the Wizard Upgrading forum. Can’t blame you much because it IS a ***** to search here, I personally use Google and use the site: parameter to point here. Third, I also couldn’t get the VoiceEnable proggy to work. I change the reg settings accordingly to make it work. You can check out the entire procedure at http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=241514&highlight=#241514
Third, ranting gets you no where when you’re asking for help, trust me.
Hope I was of some help.

Again, I must agree with JCrew
Hi Dr and all,
This hack does work with all bluetooth headsets...Thre have been posts upon posts on this like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=35767
Some of you may be lucky with VC and the Bluetooth set you have, but many of us are not. After we initiate the first call from the headset via VC and hang-up, we cannot re-initiate ANY calls from the BT headset unless we soft reset the Wizard/8125.
So neither the manual VC hacks, NOR the dutch voice enabler CAB do squat for us. Its an issue between VC and specific BT headsets where the BT channel is left open after a call and cannot be shut thus preventing re-initiation of calls after the first.
Unfortunately THERE IS NO FIX for this, MobileHavoc has valiantly tried to fix this, but to no avail...
So, as of 3/22/06, the last word: the hack DOES NOT work for all, and Jcrew is actually asking a different question...Lets all re-read it carefully.
He is asking if we can use VoiceDialer/SDDialer (the Cyberon Program) to start/call/run Voice Command so as to avert the open channel issue I mentioned above...So can we somehow hack SDDialer to initiate and close the VC program... this could potentially avert the program if SDDialer shuts that BT channel after each call...
If we have a solution lets offer it, otherwise lets refrain from mentioning the hack over and over...For at least 50% of us it does nothing and it wastes posts...
If it's any help to anyone, using the hack to make the bluetooth trigger voice command etc and then using the plantronics voyager 510 headset does work well.
Thanks Jon,
the link I posted above kind-of has a smattering across its posts of which BT sets work or not with VC on the Wizard...

A work around
Folks, I also have the problem that after ending a call I am unable to initiate VC via bluetooth. I have however found a work around. I am hoping that one of you geniuses out there can create an app to make this smoother. Here is what I found.
I installed the btaudiotoggle and mapped it to one of the hardware keys, if after ending a call I press that button it opens the audio channel to the headset. I then use the button on the headset to close it and VC then works again. The problem is that you have to touch the phone to do this.
My thought is if some smart programmer can create an service type app which is triggered by the end call event and either runs btaudiotoggle or performs the same function.
So that's what I have, hope it helps.

OEM Headphone button? How do I assign MS Voice Command to it?

How do I assign MS Voice Command to the button on the OEM headphone controller? I've searched but can't find any info on it.
I hope I get corrected here, but as far as I know You can't - you still have to use one of the hardware buttons on the handset to activate MS voice command

[IDEA] Spoken Time

Hello Everyone,
I don't know if anything like this is already available, but I'd love to have something which speaks the time to me so that I don't have to get my phone out of my pocket when I have the headset on.
I get so frustrated having to keep getting my phone out, especially when listening to music.
It would be great if it listened for a particular HW button key press or something.
Thanks,
Daveraven
Again I am disappointed how lazy ppl are nowadays.
SPOKEN TIME IS FOR BLIND PEOPLE! YOU ARE LUCKY YOU CAN SEE THE CLOCK SO SEE IT!!

OK fine, I think someone should make this application for blind people.
How can you say "I am disappointed how lazy people are nowadays" ?
This is a forum about Pocket PCs, and half of the threads are about applications and things to save time/hassle. Will you visit all the other threads about great applications and complain about how lazy people are?
Daveraven
P.S. I noticed that you're too lazy to write the word 'people' so you used 'ppl' instead... how hypocritical of you!
....more than spoken time is the Spoken Caller Name... with loquendo tts would be GREAT... but i think anyone has the skill here.... or the time.
I've heard it on a nokia and it's really cool (also for 1 ring-missed calls)
already in voice command
correct me if I'm wrong, but voice command does exactly this. Just press the button on your headset, (or the assigned button on the diamond itself) to activate voice command, then it beeps. Then you say, "what time is it" Then the lovely computer voice tells you. easy as pie.
I don't seem to have Voice Command, whatever that is...
You can read about it here -
http://www.twoinchview.com/124-microsoft-voice-command-16-reviewed
there is Cyberon (no idea on spelling) and Microsoft Voice Commander, Dutty does two versions of his ROMs, one with C one with M.
Excellent - thanks everyone!
I suppose asking for the time instead of pressing a button would be sufficient!
Daveraven
....cyberon voice command not avaiable in italian

Yep you are correct. This thread is now closed because the original request has been met and could have been met by performing a simple search.

Microphone accessory - button for Voice Command

If you push the button on the microphone which comes with the X1, it answers a call. If you push it twice it seems to call the last person you called.
Is there a way to use this button to invoke the Voice Command monitor?
Thanks
I found it easier just to re-direct the Soft Buttons!!
Left for Voice Command, Right for Comm Manager
Stuart
Yep, that's exactly what I have. Best set-up by far.
But when in the car, it would be easier to use the mic button, so I'd like to double up on Voice Command access.
So.. no-one else has managed this either?

Take a look at here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"Path"="\\Windows\\<what ever program>.exe"
"VoiceCmdEnable"=dword:0
"LaunchAPEnable"=dword:1
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dword:a
I am going to include Cyberon VC 2.0 in my rom but it will be Cantonese since it's my native language.
So, to recap the request was for a way to use the Microphone button as the Voice Command button...

What is this goint to change? I searched the registry for a way to use th mic-headset-button as a remote for my X1...which means to map a button, application, etc to it. Is this the way to do so?

Beside the "push once', and "double push", a "push & hold" action will call this exe such as Voice commander in my example.

But this doesn't have anything to do with the microphone button.
Do you read? Of course it does if you are talking about the button in the pic
If you "hold" the button, yr X1 will call the exe program specified in this registry. X1 stock rom does not comes w/ any VC program and you have to install one yrself. Of course, if you put in other program like Core player, it will be start if you hold the button.

at45 theres a good reason why people keep saying read and search, and quite a lot of it is to do with the attitude you've shown here.here.
Thanks guys!!!
I've been looking for this for quite a while. Really Thanks! Now just need to try to map this button as next rack in Mortplayer...If i found the way, I'll post it here!

Firstly, where have I been rude? Secondly, this has nothing to do with searching. I would challenge you to find a single thread on this subject anywhere else on the whole internet, started before this one. If you're going to criticise at least make some of the criticism partially relevant.
Jackleung, thanks for the solution, but in response to your manner, if you post an arbitrary reg key (a key which has no logical connection to the described solution) and which doesn't work if the instructions are followed (due to the wrong syntax), you should expect for that solution to be met with scepticism.
Coming bach to the original topic:
I wrote a script (thanks, Mort!) that enebles the tap&hold (2-3sec) of the Microphone Button to jump to the next track in Mortplayer (if it is running).
Just copy the two files attached to the \Windows\ directory and change the Registry entry as descibed in Post #5 to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\MP-NT.exe"

Thats it. Run Mortplayer and give it a try, works perfect for me!
Edit: script is working!

It seems I will install MortPlayer on my X1. Or is there a possibility to do the same with the media panel?
PS: In the script you write "not yet working". Is that the correct file?

Can you tell me where in the settings you change soft buttons. Is it Settings/Buttons? I am not sure what the 6 buttons represent. I have searched for an explanation but haven't found one.
Thanks

There are two different ways for the X1, to remap the soft keys. One is via the button settings in the windows settings, which is a global override which causes the buttons not to behave as softkeys anymore, and the other is via registry setting (have a look into the Wiki here), that maps specific applications to the softkeys while in today view - this way, the softkeys stay available in all other applications. I personally prefer the last approuch, because I don't like fingerprints on my screen.

oops, corrected now I got a cab, thanks to AlejandroFefe of ppc-welt.info!
No, this only works with mortplayer as you need the possibility to change the track via an exe file or at least an exe with a parameter (like in my script)...If you find a way to do this with the media panel (which i doubt you will ) we could have it...otherwise not.

[REQ] Call in - Voice (text to speech)

I am a proud owner of a HTC HD, previously a Nokia E50
A feature that i miss very much, it used to "read" whoever called me.
I could know even if i was in the other room, who calls me. i really miss that.
I heared of MS Voice command and of something else like Cybetron (sonds liek that). But i tried to install voice command, and it crashed my Phone (Yes it was a warez one).
I mean i can affot a 20USD software, no problem, but i do not seem to understadn "how to order" from microsoft's site.
Anyway i wanted to try it out before (to see if it suits, it does 1000 times more than i actually need, i only need a simple Text 2 Speech for incomming calls)
So, what are my choices ?
Is ther any freeware for such things ?
Thank you in advance.
Uh, no one here to give me some help ?!
well ...
microsoft voice command 1.6 works fine i use it and havnt had a problem with it yet, but when u download it make sure its the full version... the others were missing files and voice command has issuses but a full version of of voice command u will be good ..... for sum reason they didnt add voice command or live search which i liked them both....
