OEM Headphone button? How do I assign MS Voice Command to it? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

How do I assign MS Voice Command to the button on the OEM headphone controller? I've searched but can't find any info on it.

I hope I get corrected here, but as far as I know You can't - you still have to use one of the hardware buttons on the handset to activate MS voice command

wow... what alot of help. you are wise beyond your years. oh btw... i did try searching first.
not just trying to pick on you in particular... but it's so annoying when people reply to threads with this response. it just shows ignorance... if you can't contribute then don't post! they just assume the person hasn't searched.... or.... or... or they don't take the TIME to read the question the person is asking. alot of the time the question is different from what's arleady been posted. i think i'm done ranting.

How lame...
I agree with jcrew...
Read the question someone is asking before you lambast them for repeating an already answered question... :?
The question jcrew has asked is fundamentally different that what has been asked in regards to the BT problems with VC before...and NO it has not been answered here yet.
My 2c...

thanks for the help... but unfortunately this will not work either. this was the first thing that i tried when i purchased the headset. it does allow ms voice command to be called up with a headset, but only certain ones. my headset still does not work with this program. it's a conflict of sorts with some headsets and ms voice command. thanks again though.

First, MS Voice Command doesn't record voice tags... it's a voice recognition program. Reading the docs that accompany the program may explain this. Second, you didn’t search hard enough ‘cause Feb 18th I posted a question on this subject in the Wizard Upgrading forum. Can’t blame you much because it IS a ***** to search here, I personally use Google and use the site: parameter to point here. Third, I also couldn’t get the VoiceEnable proggy to work. I change the reg settings accordingly to make it work. You can check out the entire procedure at http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=241514&highlight=#241514
Third, ranting gets you no where when you’re asking for help, trust me.
Hope I was of some help.

Hi Dr and all,
This hack does work with all bluetooth headsets...Thre have been posts upon posts on this like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=35767
Some of you may be lucky with VC and the Bluetooth set you have, but many of us are not. After we initiate the first call from the headset via VC and hang-up, we cannot re-initiate ANY calls from the BT headset unless we soft reset the Wizard/8125.
So neither the manual VC hacks, NOR the dutch voice enabler CAB do squat for us. Its an issue between VC and specific BT headsets where the BT channel is left open after a call and cannot be shut thus preventing re-initiation of calls after the first.
Unfortunately THERE IS NO FIX for this, MobileHavoc has valiantly tried to fix this, but to no avail...
So, as of 3/22/06, the last word: the hack DOES NOT work for all, and Jcrew is actually asking a different question...Lets all re-read it carefully.
He is asking if we can use VoiceDialer/SDDialer (the Cyberon Program) to start/call/run Voice Command so as to avert the open channel issue I mentioned above...So can we somehow hack SDDialer to initiate and close the VC program... this could potentially avert the program if SDDialer shuts that BT channel after each call...
If we have a solution lets offer it, otherwise lets refrain from mentioning the hack over and over...For at least 50% of us it does nothing and it wastes posts...
If it's any help to anyone, using the hack to make the bluetooth trigger voice command etc and then using the plantronics voyager 510 headset does work well.
Thanks Jon,
the link I posted above kind-of has a smattering across its posts of which BT sets work or not with VC on the Wizard...

A work around
Folks, I also have the problem that after ending a call I am unable to initiate VC via bluetooth. I have however found a work around. I am hoping that one of you geniuses out there can create an app to make this smoother. Here is what I found.
I installed the btaudiotoggle and mapped it to one of the hardware keys, if after ending a call I press that button it opens the audio channel to the headset. I then use the button on the headset to close it and VC then works again. The problem is that you have to touch the phone to do this.
My thought is if some smart programmer can create an service type app which is triggered by the end call event and either runs btaudiotoggle or performs the same function.
So that's what I have, hope it helps.

For MSVC, it should work out of the box. For others, I got it working under my rom since V2 by replacing some dll from HD.
Well, you pair a bluetooth headset, install MS Voice Command (I have version 1.6.19971). Then you restart, go to voice command and enable it (if not already enabled!), check what and how you want the program to behave.
You can select a hard button on the phone (left or right) to engage the program.
Then, when you press the activate/voice/answer button on your headset the voice dial turns on. There you can either DIAL a number by saying the number, or, CALL a person in your phone book by saying that name.
Have fun!
michaelthemage, you're saying that if you bind MSVC to a random HW button, the headset button on the BT headset will start MSVC?
Also, I've tried MSVC myself, although I liked the basic functionality (it's neat!), it drained my battery like crazy (4x normal discharge) and it lacks customizable functionality (e.g. creating a new voice command and linking it to an application.)

It seems there is no voice dialer in the VF branded TP2.
Anywhere I can get a cab? Was so used to it in the TP & TyTn & TyTn II before it.
Thanks

hello!
I just installed the Cyberon Voice Dialer and it worked great!
If you want it, just go here:
Link removed...this is not free software
Yes it does!! Thanks!!
Wow! Thanks. It works.
Thanks Mrs D! Works awesomely well, although I wish there was a way for it to not repeat the voice tag after you have said it, but to just run the program/dial the contact straight away.
I'd like that also!
pretty annoying beeing somewhere and people listening...
anyway I assigned to Long_Send and works great!
Thanks, will download/try and feedback
It's works!
This works great. The voicedailer from the 'old' diamond touch pro.

MS Voice Command
Guys,
I just came across this. I tried the Cyberon version, but i don't like its accuracy and i cant assign a key to activate it.
Cyberon Voice Commander v2.5.1 build 709141 - thread Mod Edit - Warez link removed
Previous versions of MSVC did not work on my TP2, but this one does. The install automatically assigns itself to the press(Hold) of my dial button and replaces the CommManager button assignment. Like its predecessors, it works flawlessly for me.

Can you make a voice call over Bth (by pushing the voice call button on the bth headset, of course ! ) with this version ?
How do you get MS Voice Command to work? I downloaded /installed the cabs, i see the Voice Command icon on my phone, but I dont understand how it all works. Can someone explain to me how to get this rolling ? Thanks.
How do you get MS Voice Command to work......?
It is working well on my TP2.
Install and probably best to soft reset.
Once in, go to All Settings, the VC icon is in the Personal tab.
Set the options and Notifications to what you want.
Then go to Buttons (same tab) and make sure it is assigned to the Send Key.
Done...!
To use, press (and hold) the Send (L/H bottom key) till it makes a sound, then speak, a contact, number, app to open etc.
Works really well, especially announcing appointments.
One problem is that it conflicts with SRS WOW HD - no matter really as this audio app doesn't seem to work on the TP2 anyway - it makes your device not wake up from sleep, buggered if i know why (wish it worked!)
Hope this helps - party on!
Jabberoo
works fine - thx for this cool reference!
I love VC!! Thanks for the direction on it!! awesome to have on this phone.
ps, sometimes the lady catches me by surprise and comes outta nowhere to tell me something. kinda scary!
Sorry but the voice dialer (cyberon) dont work with my JAWBONE II
Does anyone have Cyberon or Voice Commander working with the button on their bluetooth headset? Cyberon worked fine with my headset on my TyTn II but won't work with either programme on my TP2. Is there a registry tweak required to make this functional?

It's a problem caused by the change in Bluetooth stack that HTC made with this phone, I've not seen a working fix yet, I suspect we'll see something once the cooked ROMs start appearing.

isnt voice command supposed to announce the incoming caller's name? mine does not.
and i have the jawbone II as well. shame it does not work with this.

MS Voice command; how to get it to work with standard headsetbutton??

Hi guys,
Today I've downloaded the Microsoft Voice Command from this topic. I really like the programme, but the only thing with it is, that I have to press and hold the call button, to get it to work. Now I would really love it when I can activate the program with the call button on my standard htc headset, so I can keep my phone in my pocket. Does anybody know how I can get this to work?
Thanks in advance,
B4kk3r

Howto map Play/Pause on original HTC Headset with VoiceCommand?

Hey guys,
setting up Microsoft Voice Command here at the moment.
Working great, if I press and hold the sendkey for a few secs.
But now I want to map the Play/Pause/Accept Call-Button on headset with voicecmd.exe .
I already tried AEButton Plus, but no luck actually =/
It would be so great, if I not even had to put out my phone to dial a contact or something.
Does anyone tried this already and can give me a hint?
Thanks in advance.

Well i dont know about MSVC but the play/pause - Answer key on my wired headset works fine to initiate calls with Cyberon voice commander with no special setting up. If you are referring to bluetooth headsets then as is stated in severasl threads on here they do not work correctly.
Thanks, but in my case I need exactly as I described it above. MSVC over wired original Headset.
Nobody EVER tried that? But it would be so nice and comfortable ..
I haven't really had a detailed look, but have a look at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476412
It was designed for the Touch HD, and a cursory glance suggests the Leo doesn't use the sddialer.exe app, but the same philosophy should apply. I'll try to update my apps for Leo, and no doubt the concept has already been improved elsewhere, but it should at least give you a pointer!
V
This worked for me - partially. Simply swopped the redial.exe with yours and added a shortcut on Voicecommand..
It works everytime, when the device is unlocked. When I put it to standby, it doesnt work immediately. But if I wait a few minutes, it works .. often. But not every time Dont know, whats the reason for this.
But its definitely a pointer, how it should work in future .. Thanks for that.
I'll try and look into it in more detail soon. I've only had the Leo for a day or so, and am still rom hacking, but will do some coding soon.
Should be easy enough to find the other executable it launches and replace that too.
V
Looking forward to your release Thanks in advance.
