Hi all,
Few weeks ago I read in this forum, but I forgot whether is there any solution for above mention subject.
Is there any bluetooth that support Voice command? Or any bluetooth headset v1.2 is compatible with it?
Say that I like to have bluetooth headset that I need to press the button to call, to get appointment, etc just by say it to the headset.
This would be great as you have personal assistance

Hi,
I think it was me who posted the message but I still am looking for a peice of software for the MDA Compact that allows voice commands through my HBH600 - anyone?
Thanks
Msuk
As far as i know, this is not supported by the MS Stack used by the magician.
I don't get it. Everyone was saying that the Widcomm/Broadcom stack was no good for Voice Command, and now we've got Microsoft and their own stack is still no good.
So, who's manufacturing a stack that actually works?
I hear that the ETEN M-series (500, 600, perhaps earlier) works with Voice Command over the BT headset, so what stack are they using?
That the best thing I have ever heard, to be able to just push the button on the head set to give Voice command a request instead of pulling the phone out of your pocket all the time would be great.
Hi,
I used to be able to issue voice commands for my contacts when I had a SE P900. Also the callers name was announced in the BT and using my voice I could say 'Answer' or 'busy' why cant the MDA Compact be able to do this? MDA Compact get some many things right but gets a whole load of other functionality totally wrong :-(
Thanks
Msuk
Check this out...
Someone over at HowardForums.com's Pocket PC forum was able to tell me that the Eten M500 Pocket PC Phone Edition uses the Microsoft Bluetooth stack (although "enriched" or modified) and they apparently can use Voice Command over the Bluetooth headset, and even activate it by pushing the action button on the headset!
http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=181 ... See "My new Eten M500" thread.
So, I'm asking anyone who's got the Extended ROM to upload it or post it somewhere so we can take a closer look!
Thanks people.
Anyone have o2 mini and Motorolla HS-850 bluetooth handsfree?
This handsfree is bluetooth v1.2. I am wondering if I can use this bluetooth for above purpose. Not perfect maybe, but at least I can get caller id readed by voice command better than sony HBH-660 caller id display.
Anyone with HS-850 please comment.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,...
I am new here and thought you might help me with my little problem.
I allready searched the forum for that issue, but i did not find a real solution, so maybe someone can help me find a solution. Btw. please excuse my bad englisch, i am from Germany and really try my best.
Well, i have a german XDA Mini with BigStorage Rom 1.12.01 GER and Windows Mobile 2003.
I really have 2 problems now with the use of Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 and a Bluetooth Headset (not with Handsfree Profile).
My first Problem is, how can i make the Software response on pressing one of the 2 Headset Buttons. I really would like to initiate voice dialing with that so that i can leave the phone in my bag or whereever. I read something about a registry change, but i don't have that registry key, so maybe i need to install another software for that first.
If anybody could give me a easy to understand way to activate that, that would be really great.
My second Problem is, how can i use my BT Headset for the Audio Output. I can't hear the voice of Voice Command in the Earphone, it only plays on the XDA Mini itself. I downloaded a Bluetooth Stach Patch which gave me the option to stream audio to headset, abut my Headset isn't show in the list, and it does not work. I tried a Headset with Handsfree Profile from Plantronics (M3000), but it also did not show in the list. Can anyone help me with this ?
Well if could get this to work somehow that would be really really great...
Thanks in advance...
Thalys :?: :?:
Funny...I was researching this almost exactly as you were posting (research starting at XDA-Developers, of course!)
I found a rather distressing article at http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2006/02/03/524289.aspx that basically says that Microsoft Voice Command doesn't work over Bluetooth. HOWEVER, responses to the article reveal the registry hack to set Voice Command to the default Bluetooth dialer. It is:
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path=\Program Files\Voice Command\voicecmd.exe
I tried this on my Cingular 8125 with Motorola H500. Have to press the button twice (a problem also documented in the responses), and recognition is reduced, but it works! Voice Command audio is also piped to my headset.
--BennTech
Well, thanks alot for this tip, but it doesen't work for me. I tried changig the value to the path where my Voice Command is installed, but it did not do anything.
I think this is because i don't have a voice dialing software at all istalled on my device. Maybe i need to install another software first to activate the bluetooth support itself and than change the path to the program.
I figured out that i can make a redial with my headset without installing any software, so maybe there is a way to change this option to start voicecmd.exe.
I looked over the registry to find the key where the redial is initiated, but can't fins anything.
Has anyone done something like that ? I guess this is the only way to use voice command with BT Headset...
For all your help, thanks in advance...
Thalys
Sorry for Doublepost, but i wanted to say that the activation is now possible with the VCABT Project hack. That works now perfectly.
The only thing i wonder about is, is the mic in the headset used to recognize the voice ? Sometimes it is like still the mic in the machine is used.
I now only need a way to transfer the system audio to my headset... is that possible somehow ???
Thanks ... Thalys
@Thalys: If you'd know how to use a forum in the first place this whole thread wouldn't exist at all! It's all answered in the thread regarding the VCABT project. Since you found out about it I wonder why are posting those kinda questions...
Ok, sorry for that thread, it can be closed...
I did not read all the thread and thought that maybe another way is possible.
I now will keep an eye on the VCABT Project Thread to see if there is news to get this working...
Thanks for all your support... please Close
Thalys
well, voice command automaticcaly pauses the music playback, if you push the VC-Button (Camera-Button at the moment), to listen what you have to say trough the microphone of the HEADSET! So we really need "only" a possibillity to use the Headset-Button instead of for example the camera button. Everything else works quite good.

Hello all
Can you tell me is your supplied handfree working?
I just installed some mp3's onto a new SD card, while I had the headphones on I thought I would try handsfree, it does not work.
The silver button you press to activate voice dial or answer calls does nothing, and I cannot speak into the microphone, I can only hear calls.
I have voice tabbed my contacts, voice dialing works great on the phone but not the headset. Inside the phone, the phone menu has 'Turn Hands-free On', this is greyed out. Has this feature been removed from the phone?
The phone is Orange SPV M600
Thanks
i find the button on the headset useless. 9 times out of ten it does nothing, then suddently it will end a call or open the voice prompt. I gave up and put it down to a windowsism.
Well, mine can only answer calls, it will not start voice dial and will not open the phone app. No problems with sound or mic.
I use Motorola H350 anyway so it doesn't really bother me.
Thanks
From a lot of Googling I have found nothing official even mentioning the use of the handsfree they advertise and supply. However, it would appear that this phone is only capable of answering and closing calls with handsfree, so not truly handsfree.
You still have to take out your nice new, expensive toy in order to make a call, clearly advertising it to potential muggers. Where I live that is just about everyone you see.
Does seem strange though that cheap old Nokias can do this, but a nice new computerised phone can not. Then again it is Microsoft. I have only had it a week, but already I have found that WM5 is not very backward compatible with software. There are issues with bluetooth headsets (which is why I cancelled an order), and in a week just like old ME, I have lost count of the number Soft Resets that I have had to perform.
I find the most useless feature is the voice dial, you have to open, start, programs, voicedial to make a call or use it. Why not just run the app manually rather than trust voicedial to guess what your after.
Sorry guys but I am not sure what the fuss is about.
I had my phone for a month before getting the BT headset (no problems there by the way) so I assigned the voice speed dial to the comm manager button. Easy and useful and you have the comm manager icon in the today tray so the button is not a major loss.
Now that I have the H350 which is more comfortable than the wired hands-free any way, everything works smoothly but this is with the i-mate ROM. Perhaps your BT troubles are from the Orange ROM?
voice speed used to work.....
I have an H500 headset which used to work splendidly on my Orange M600. The silver button would launch voice dialling and pick up and end calls.
however I upgraded to the Dopod ROm and now it does bugger all! I can hear the calls, but the headset will not launch voice dialling, and all options are greyed out.
Question is, is this feature in the main ROm or the extended part....I have acopy of the Orane extended ROm but can't see anything that looks like the right cab file.
I did not let Dopod customisations run after upgrading, and I really don't want to do a hard reset again!
If anyone knows which file you need to install voice speed dialling I'd be grateful!

The wired headset does not work fully, it can only be used to answer or close calls, it will not initiate voice dialing. I bought a cheap bluetooth headset off of ebay, it paired straight away and initiates voice dialing. I have never been able to get my headet to work, I now just plug it in if I want to play music.
I am not sure about Dopod and Orange ROMs, but in i-mate ROM the speed dial app it self (cyberon voice speed dial) is in the extended ROM while it's settings applet is in ROM.
As for the part that is responsible for answering / ending calls that should be in ROM with any version.
the H500 IS a bluetooth headset- it's a Motorola and wasn't cheap!
It used to work as I say, then I went to the Dopod ROM and now there is no voice speed dialing at all.
I can't seem to find the cyberon cab files anywhere....

Sorry I read too quickly, I originally started this post before I got bluetooth as I could not get the wired set to work.
Hi
From what I had read in the past when I was having problems with my headset, Cyberon's Voice Speed Dial software is embedded in the OS it does not come as a cutomisation. I have just brought mine up and it simply says Cyberon Voice Speed Dial Setting Version 1.1 Build 51212. Copyright (c) 2005 Cyberon Corporation. There is nothing there related to Orange, and I can not find it in any of the Orange Extended ROM CABS.
I guess Microsoft did a deal with them to install it in the Phone Edition of WM5.
I know this has been covered a bit but I have a quick question. MS is saying you need to have AKU 3.2 to get VC to announce caller's over your BT Headset. Has anyone found a simple way to make this work on an earlier ROM. Lately I've been running mostly Molski's ROM, but I dabbled in Faria's 3.2. I swore I had BT working totally with a 2.26 ROM, but am I on crack?
I liked Faria's 3.2 but I was missing too many calls. Is there any way to upgrade just teh BT in an older ROM to make this work. (I'm sure my inexperience shows in this question. If its impossible to do, just say the word and I'll patiently wait for a new 3.2 or 3.5 ROM or just forget about this)
I have two answers to your question.
The first is use the A2DP hack found in this forum and get a stereo bluetooth headset. The iTech Clip R35 or S35 both come with the two headphones; one with only one earbud, so you aren't covering both your ears. When you have a stereo bluetooth headset, all sound, including the calls from MS Voice Command are redirected to your headset.
The second is use the program found here:
http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/...luetooth-headset.html?perpage=20&pagenumber=1
It basically redirects all sound to bluetooth (probably a cheaper and easier fix); I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it might be the solution you are looking for.
I also liked having the feature of calls announced through bluetooth, but it never did seem to work. I have been meaning to download the program from the site, but just haven't gotten chance. If you try it, let me know if it works.
Thanks.
I wonder how hard it would be to get that little program to run automatically when connected to a head set
yeah theres nothign cooler than wearing a stereo headset while driving. Thanks but no thanks.
I've used BT audio with v1.5, and it wasnt for me. i still use it to listen to podcasts via my headset on occasion though.
The nice thing about 1.6 when it was working (mist have been with Faria's ROM) was that I didn't hear my normal phone ringtone through the headset. It rang like normal through my headset, but it would announce the callers name. Its a cool feature.
edit: I must have been wrong. It does divert the ringtone through your headset as well. This gives me hope that I can work somethign out using BTAudio.
Yeah it is a cool feature. You can go to the notification settings in voice command (Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command) and change it so that notifications are done when bluetooth is available (the second radio button). If the notifications cannot sound through your headset, they will come from the phone speaker so you will still be able to hear who is calling without looking at your phone. Doesn't really help if your phone is in your pocket or if you can't hear it, but I guess its the next best alternative.
I have a cooked T-mobile 2.26 ROM and use MS VC 1.6 over my BT205 no problems. I was previously using the original O2 rom and has it working on that too so both an AKU2.0 and an AKU2.3 work fine. To install try this:
remove VC if installed
remove headset pairing
soft reset
create headset pair and leave it switched on
install vc1.6
soft reset
add path string to HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\
i.e. \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe
soft reset
then try the button on the headset a few times

I'm not having trouble using BT with VC. I want the Incoming call announcements to come over BT.
I installed Farias 3.2 and it worked, but I decided its not a huge deal. I'll try playing around looking at some of teh links here and see if I can't work somethign out. Thanks everyone.
I would also love for voice command 1.6 to announce incoming calls to my bluetooth headset. Interestingly, low battery announcements come through the bluetooth headset, but not incoming calls. Hmmm. Any suggestions/luck getting this to work?

Just wanted to let everyone know I tried it out today and it works as expected. Phone audio gets redirected to BT headset on incoming calls.
but does the ringer get re-directed also? cuz if so thats DAMN ANNOYING!
Well I dont mean to sound condescending to a "senior member" cuz im just a junior but did it cross your mind to select "none" as your ringer? Oh, Btw everyone, your welcome for my fantastic little file
What exactly does the file do???
I had troubles with VC 1.6 at first, but now it seems to work OK. Maybe I accidentally followed Riptos's instructions. Don't know.
Also BTAudio is working to redirect audio when I want that to happen, since VC now closes the audio after it finishes.
The only remaining minor glitch is that after giving a dial command, the little simulated dialing noise comes over the phone speaker not the headphone. So if the phone isn't right by, I don't always know whether it has dialed or not.
Any suggestions?
I tried the CallerID program. It works just as described. The only thing is that is takes up ~443.48 KB at startup. I just installed it so I don't know if it increases after a while.
I have a question. If I understand everything correctly, with a AKU 3.2 ROM this CallerID program isn't necessary if I want to get Incoming Call Announcements over Bluetooth. Right??
Has anyone gotten VC 1.6 to announce incoming calls over a STEREO Bluetooth headset? Seems like the discussions have only been for a hands free device. Anyone?
I don't have a 3.XX ROM and Voice Command notifications work on my stereo bluetooth headset without the program because I think wtih stereo bluetooth, all sound is redirected to the headset. I didn't do anything or change any settings, it just worked. I obviously have the A2DP hack installed, but that's it.
Correct me if I am wrong, but there is no built in voice dialing capability tools included with the HD2?
I would like to be able to (like I have with the last 2 HTC Smartphones) be able to voice dial a contact over a bluetooth headset or car unit....
Any recommendations, or is this feature hidden somewhere that I simply have to activate? If there is an app I can get, preferrably free, please advise. Thanks!
Microsoft Voice Command is probably the best out there... its almost uncanny how you can just talk to your phone and ask it stuff with no training.... Call blah blah blah.... what are my apointments? .... open file explorer.... etc etc etc....
I use it with a bluetooth headset all the time to make and receive calls all the time.... calls received will have the caller's name read to me via BT headset
Thanks, so nothing is included with the HD2 then correct? Is there a free version we can get for our HD2 here or elsewhere of Voice Command?

MSVC is pretty much the best out there...the other alternative is the Cyberon Speed Dial, but you do have to record for each contact.

Which MSVC version are you using?
I've been having strange problems with my Blueant Supertooth light and MSVC 1.6.
The problems are:
- My Blueant doesn't terminate the connection after calls, the lights and speaker just stays on eventhough the call has been terminated.
- No incoming call announcement from the blueant device.
- Sometimes when I press the call button on my BT device, voice commander responds on the phone's speaker??
Weird... I didn't have the above problems with my TD, although I never could get the incoming call announcement to work as well.
on the same lines, is there any application to type what you speak? This way we could use speech to text instead of using the keyboard!
It is a huge letdown that the HD2 does not already INCLUDE a voice dialing application like the past several HTC phones have had, for years.
HTC needs to step up the plate and both provide this and make sure that bluetooth voice dialing protocols are in place.
Has anyone used the Cyberon app yet? I believe the one is called "Voice Dialer" and the other is called "Voice Commander", not sure what the actual difference is or if either work fully on the HD2.
Hi. I'm using Cyberon Voice Sped Dialer on my HD2 and have set up my voice dals.
However, when I go to use the voice dial I only every get the 'tone' through the phone speaker and no longer through my BT headset. I have a Jawbone 2 BT headset.
My Touch HD worked fine with it and you could dial using voice through the headset but I no longer can on the HD2.
Is there a way to fix this? Do I need different software or is it just one of those things?
Thanks.
Owen.
Hi,
Im having the same problems with my HD2 device. I have a parrot bluetooth carkit and with this new device it doens't work like it should because there is no voice dialing.
I've tried several programs like Microsoft Voice command and other voice command programs like VITO voice command and Cyberon.
Is there any program that just looks like the voice dialing on the HTC Diamond? I just want to record my own voice and use it with my bluetooth carkit.
Thanks,
187ed187
The problems with bluetooth is down to the HD2 using a widcomm bluetooth stack as apposed to a microsoft one. I personally havent found a voice dialing app that will work with the widcomm stack.
So what do we do now? I really love this phone but this is a huge problem for me...
Good question.... experiment!? E-mail voice recognition manufactures?
I have cyberon voice speed dial 1.2
I cant get it to work through my BT but I have sort cut on home that I press and it opens all my progs and dial contacts, one of the best things about my phone now I love that it opens all my programs...
I used to have a n95 and this put an auto voice tag on each contact and worked through any BT, shame the HD2 hasnt got an app that can do that ... and open my progs..
I'm also still waiting for a solution.
I have 2 bt handsfree devices on my 2 cars (Parrot and Blueant)...and MSVC only works for the first try after a soft reset.
After the first go, MSVC just goes thru the phone's mic and speaker. Very annoying when you still need to hold the phone up while driving AND you have a bluetooth handsfree device.

Is it possible for someone to cook a ROM with the MSFT bluetooth stack? Or is that too hardware/driver dependent?
You guys should check out the threat with the name: Voice Dial Removed! WTF?
Since I cannot post links yet I can't post the exact link but I'm sure you guys are able to use the search function on this website
Someone claims to have found a working solution for the problem, it's on the second page of the thread.. I'm going to test it right now
Edit: IT WORKS!! At first holding the call button didn't work for me, so I followed the instructions on the first page and now it works!!

About to try it, hope it works with BT voice dial, if not then Duttys WM6.5 works as well as it can and includes the long press fix as standard.

To install .CAB according to order of their numbering.
Do not forget to put a tick in Audio-adjustments sets (' To reproduce system sounds on removed set ').
I did not check it by myself yet.
I tried to make ONE .CAB but did not find apropriate software.
Let's try this way.

I have succeeded to activate the CVSD with BT Headset button press with the "4_CVSD_1.2_build_61226_1_BTHeadsetFixed.cab" given in the mail above.
But I can not hear the Voice Tag of the contact from the BT Headset but from the speaker of the HD2 as a confirmation to my speed dial speech.
And I have to check the screen when dialing started if I am motocycling
Any proposal to fix that little problem?
