I upgraded to WM2003 SE through ROM kitchen and now my volume button on SX56 is not working.
Also is it expected behavior that now when I connect phone through USB to computer it's not automaticaly powers on and launch ActiveSync, I have to manually power on phone.
Is there any real benefits of WM2003 SE over previous version (except of landscape layout which I don't care about)?
No good
Hey,
I tried the SE and my conclusion is:
If you want to receive or place calls, or charge the phone you have to start with soft reset
Otherwise landscape cool
i find the same thing true. don't run other apps and it will be ok for some time. eventually need soft reset...

maybe you can find a way to map the green and red phone button to the two soft keys we now have a the button of the screen,
i always push those buttons, it makes me think i'm using a phone,
forgetting it's a touch screen
recall somebody saying that those 2 buttons was hardwired to the gsm part of the phone and that CE had no control over them
but i guess he could have been wrong since they are locked by button lock
but then if the phone does ring they can make you pick up the phone without typing in your password
Red and green buttons are not hardwired to GSM module.
They are usual hardware buttons processec by system in a specific way.
While working on AEKMap I was able to unbind these buttons from WinCE. And I think that may write simple app to "unbind" them. But what the reason for this application?
1. not all of the programs will detect this key because it is out of "conventional" range
2. How you will answer phone calls without green button?
Hi AE,
Is there any way that you could release the source showing how your unmapped the phone buttons, or at least give us a few hints?
It really is an art that you have mastered, something that very few people have been able to do (outdside of the OS development labs, and we never see those results)!
There are nothing special in this application.
Just calls to
UnregisterHotKey(), UnregisterFunc1 and RegisterHotKey() - if you just need hint The only hint is UnregisterFunc1 - but it is also described in number of places (just ask Google) Hope, this will work in WM2005 also.
I suggest to do it another way. Today I "downgrade" my BlueAngel to Andes And now I should count my HW buttons again  Lets wait some days - and probably I'll make some solution specially for Himalaya/Andes, taking into account your "red/green wishes" At least it will work on WM2003, but I see no problems for Magneto also.
I will post report in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=115430
P.S.: Please try to run program attached here to check if it hooks red and green buttons and let me know the results. You will need to soft-reset your device to restore normal HW buttons functionality
Unhooking the red and green buttons would definitely be useful for us with a Magician, since it has very few hardware buttons. You could still answer a phone call by clicking Answer when the dialog appears.

Yeah on my Wizard when i hold the on/off button i get a question if i want to shutdown the device. How can i shutdown the universal like that? Tried vijay555's app to bind 223 so it shutdown but it just black the screen for, then i can push on/off button again and the device is on. On the wizard the wizard i c qtek bootup picture etc etc,...
Tried PsShutXP to and its the same there :/
I think, as far as we know, that feature is not standard in the Universal. It needs to be built in by HTC's drivers. If anyone has any new info on this, I'd be interested... Similar feature is available on some Axims, but I don't think any other HTCs...

I've search through:
Gaijin Guide for x01HT
Video Call Button
Hermes Wiki
A bunch of searches have come up empty.
Softbank x01HT
Using Pays Rom WM6.1
or K's Pro rom
Call Button OK.
The Video Button and End Call button however do not work (screen menus work fine)
Any suggestions?

Buttons not working
If a button stops working, yet you know the functionality still works, then I'd suggest a battery reset. Simply remove the battery from your 8525 (must be completely out) for about 15-20 seconds, place it back into your 8525 and turn it on.
I had to do this back when I had iPAQs and Dell Axims, and have to do it with my 8525 from time-to-time when my camera button stops working. This performs a hardware reset. As long as your battery is in your 8525, there is essentially power flowing within the 8525, even though you have the screen turned off. By doing this, you're allowing all power to drain from the 8525's circuit cards/boards and performing a hardware reset (whereas using the stylus only gives you a software reset).
I hope this helps you!
Thanks. No dice (sorry for late reply).
Changing the os to AT&T clears up the call / end button. The moment I load a homebrew like pays, TnT ... The call/end/video buttons stop.
Very Odd.

Hardreset and try, if not reflash ROM
Good luck,
Hard Reset I tried earlier but did´nt work.
You do realise the SPV doesn't actually 'switch off' ?
Your power button will merely switch the display off and send the unit into sleep mode. If you want it 'off' you'll need to pull the battery and put it back in. The unit won't power up again until you press the power button.
Sometimes my screen goes blank, other times I can still see the text etc.
I started to use a shutdown exe from my Wizard. It seems to do a better job.
At least, when my Uni is connected to Windows Mobile Device Center, I hit the power button and the backlight goes off, WMDC stays connected. If I use the Wizard's exe it disconnects.
Attached for you to try anyway.
Thanks
If I understund right, this PDA can turn off only with removing battery thats stranger
I've never understood the reasoning behind it either. I suppose you have to consider that it was probably always intended for people to use these as their main phone (I don't - never have) and most people never turn their phones off. I know my main phone is never off. Still, it DOES have the option to turn it off if need be, whereas the SPV only has a sleep and flight mode.
Did you try the exe?
hey guys my problems prophet
on-off button doesn't work (actually work when doing hard-reset and bootloader mode).
I install any rom and i see this problem every rom.
After the soft resets " Warning Device will be off, and may lose some data. Do you want to continue" and on-off button doesn't work.
And i have a bluetooth problem. It's work like infrared port. the bluetooth device must be near (about 50 cm) of my prophet.
What must i do?
