I am just starting to "Play" with the 2i, but have a question. If I play with the Reg. with an editor will a hard reset put it back to normal? Or once the reg. is changed is that it until I manually edit it back? Any help gratefully received.
In a nutshell yes the hard reset will revert it back to it's orginal state
Excellent, thank you very much

Unlock not successfull
Hi all !
I tried to unlock extended ROM of my P3600 - but like another user in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273424&page=3&highlight=tytn+extended+rom - described - after changing the registry keys and soft reset the device - the registry keys show the original values and extended ROM is still hidden.
Would you be so kind and describe how unlocking the extended ROM worked with your device ?
Thanks in advance !

In another thread I read (don't recall which one) that you need to exit (not minimize) the registry editor prior to the soft reset, otherwise the changes in the registry won't stick.
Maybe this helps?

Hi folks,
AFAIK in my opinion it is not necessary to close active applications instead of minimize, simply turn off the device and wait about 20 seconds before soft reset cause wm05 needs this time to flush the modify into the registry, or in alternative soft reset via a software instead stylus+hole. This is a known caratteristict of wm05 if you do a google search you'll find many threads about taht.
Hope this help, if I'm not wrong...

By doing this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV\FATFS]
"EnableCache"=dword:00000001
Now i can del the extROM files, and write what ever i want, but when i do a softReset every thing is erased and the extROM files re-apear.
Anyone know what to do...

I done how you said, and effectively i can copy any file i want into the extended rom but when i make a soft reset, whatever i have copied in it,
disappear.I mean i can see only the original files and nothing else.
I have also tried to copy three other files and with the Totalcommander i have marked them as read only.Made a soft reset but had the same results.
The three files were not any more visualized in the extended Rom.
Anybody had success to write into the Extended Rom without loosing the files after making a soft reset?
If yes which is the right procedure?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact III (aka HTC Hero) and I was trying to change some things in registry, also I owerwrited some dll witch had attribute ROM (using sktools). Now I have ppc with not working camera unfortunately. Will hard-reset fix my problem ? Will it give me correct registry and also all device dll to default settings ?
Yes, a hard reset will restore your device to the way it was when you first got it. It's like formatting your PC hard disk and re-installing Windows.
Hard-reset didn't fix
Hi,
I have the same problem. When I start up the camera I get the message, the camer couldn't initialize. I have SKtools installed. Hopefully someone has an idea.
as said above.press reset hole &2soft keys ("-")together then "yes-green bttn".or somewhere in settings is'Clear Storage'. btw, backup ur contacts... before

The golden rule to avoid having to hard reset is to always backup your phone before starting to mess around with the registry, that way you can undo any mistakes you've made.
I think that SKTools backs up the registry before deleting or changing some value so you may want to check up on that before hard resetting.
hi all
recently i installed the S2U2 app ,i used it for a while and earlier today i uninstalled it
the problem is that now pressing the red (hung up) button doesnt lock the device
i suppose something must be don in the registry but i dont know what.....
HELP ME PLEASE
Hi there
Have you tried a soft reset?
If yes it might be a good idea to do a hard reset but make sure you back up all your info.
There is a .cab on s2u2 offical website to restore wm6.5 lock screen and if you can't find it try to google RestoreWM65DeviceLock.cab file and install it.
That will solve your problem. No need to change registry settings.
Hi,
I accidentally deleted HKLM\Init registry key on my Navigon 6310.
Now it's stuck at boot screen ("Navigon, and world is yours"), PC does not recognize it, Navigon Fresh also...
I tried couple of ways to do hard reset, but it didn't help.
Does any of you know how to hard reset this device, or how to access registry?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
