Hi,
I think these are probably often asked questions, but the 'search' function wasn't being too helpful, so apologies if they are duplicates. I have the following questions:
1. I have just been in an O2 shop and the guy in there suggested that the maximum memory you should put in an XDA IIs is 512MB as anything over this slows it down. However, I have seen on the xda mini site that they specify that they have tested with 1GB of memory. Ideally, I would like to put a 5GB card in it. What is the maximum amount of memory I could put in and what would be the performance implications?
2. Will the XDA IIs support the upgrade to Windows Mobile 2005?
3. Is there going to be an XDA III released in the UK soon? Should I wait for that?
Many thanks.
Frank
Anyone?
2 that depend on if anybody will release a 2005 rom for it
htc or tmobile or o2 or somebody like that is needed to release a rom or leak it because the 2005 rom for xda2 cant be used
1 havent heard about issues with SD cards which i'm asuming you talk about when you talk about addin memory
would suppose a 5GB sd card would be VERY expensive though
1) The biggest cards available now are 2gb
2) The hardware is easily capable of running it, but there is on word on if it will ever be made available
3) The XDA IIs is called the XDA III elsewhere - they are the exact same device.
Hi Dabs,
thanks for the response.
1). Oh ok, so how about the exaxt same question for a a 5GB CF card instead?
2). Ah, so theres a possible problem then.
3). Oh ok, cool, thanks for clearing that up.
many thanks
Frank
no CF slot on xda. dumb q
dumb question? I was told by one of the advisors on the Leeds O2 Business Centre that the XDA IIs could take an SD or a CF memory card. Who am I not to beleive him?
GIGO my friend.

that may not be the case some people have been reporting that o2 will interduce this as xdaIII

Hi
Just upgraded to a XDA Mini S on O2
I've heard about removing certain programs which cause it to run slow and install a few "better" programs too.
Can someone point/tell me where to go next.
Thanks

I too have same problem, i am in Australia, I have Purchased Xperia 10, and there is no Android Market Feature/App....
Pls, does anyone know how this can be put onto my phone... I just bought this Outright... and it appears to be waste of money atm..
to all that dont have market, just follow the debranding guide found here: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=195467
be sure to download the proper files for your phone. in the OP's case, its the X10i Generic UK (R1FA016)
to all don't have market place on your x10 or x10i or x10a.... pls. do not de-brand your phone for up-coming upgrade in a few months, some country they have dedicated firmware and version as of now there is an alternative application so could "slideme.com".... lol @@
the reason why you bought your x10 that doesn't have MARKET PLACE its because Google don't have an agreement or licence to include with the package in your country due to so many reason!!!!
as i mention above the "application" is the only thing that you can enjoy your x10..
hope i could help you out form this problem!!
sorry for my bad English lol...

I think the equivalent of de-branding for X10 is like changing your region in Samsung Galaxy S (i.e. from XSS to XSG).
I bought SGS here Dubai and was disappointed that I only have SlideME but since I changed my phone region settings (there is a tutorial for this in the SGS-I900 dedicated forums here in XDA Developers), I have now the android market and now I am a download demon... So far no problems encountered... I have read about de-branding as I am trying to help a friend of mine get the Android Market for his X10...
Note: No need to root our SGS I900 to do this useful trick...

But can you still update to any newer updates with your phone? I want to be able to update to 2.1 on my Xperia X10 when it comes out.

Not sue why you bumped a month old thread to tell us about Samsungs in the Xperia X10 forum.
Ok so did you get the Market app in the end? If so, then how? and Did it cause any problems?
Would appreciate your help.
Cheers
You need to flash your phone with another rom . Look in the development section . It is easy and wont take more than 15 minutes
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Does anyone know where I can get Honeycomb Chinese for the Xoom? I know it was released in China recently and was looking to install on the wifi Xoom I bought a few weeks back.
Thanks

MZ606 (Chinese wifi version) seems the same hardware and MZ604, MZ606 MZ604's stock rom flashing is working.
If you just need the locale to be in Chinese, you can try More Locale 2 from the market. I can change the locale language on the Xoom with this app.
But if the Chinese Xoom has it's own 3rd party apps... yeah you need the rom.
Hmmm, not sure what we be the best route to take. I bought this wifi Xoom for my sister when it first was released. But my sister is in Taiwan and would prefer to be able to navigate through the system if it were in Chinese. Since I'm here visiting I figured I could perhaps load it for her before I go back home.
What would you guys recommend? Loading the Chinese install? Or using that More Locale app?
Thanks for all the assistance.
Just tried MoreLocale. Works nice but I realized I'd still need Chinese input without having to using the voice method.

Thanks for this link. I think this may just be what I need short of getting the Chinese install.
Hi all,
Can anyone help me. I am trying to find the basic Samsung translate app for my SM-N9108v.
Doesn't come standard for the Chinese phone and is really annoying not having it. Samsung in China really sucks ... unless you're, you know, fluent in Chinese.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
