Increasing number of rings prior to diversion or missed call - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Can the number of rings prior to a call diversion or a missed call listing be varied on the XDA 2 Mini itself or is it a service provider setting. What is maximum time setting? At the moment it seems about only 20 seconds and i currently miss a lot of calls because I am not quite quick enough getting it out of the holder, opening the cover and answering the phone.

It's an Operator function so you'll need to speak to them about it. You can send codes to some operators from your phone so hopefully they'll tell you what the codes are!

The (your prefix, your number) can be any number you like, it is the number the caller is diverted to when you do not answer, ie your network answer phone number is default so make a note of this first.

Does it notify call divert?

Hello!
I have a Qtek 9090 and used a lot the 2020, but both have a little problem. They don't notify when an incoming call has been diverted from another phone number.
So I can't know if the incoming call is for my cell number or for the number that has been diverted to my phone.
I often divert the office phone to my private cell phone and it would be nice to know if the incoming call is private or business...
Normal phones like nokia and sony ericsson have this function...usually they show a little arrow near the phone number of the incoming call.
Does the Universal finally have it too???
Thank you for the answer....
and I hope you'll enjoy your Universal!
Have a nice day
NO...
Universal doesnt show diverted calls in some different than normal calls...
Doesnt matter whether its diverted call or the normal it rings and display the same.
Is there any other WM phone that can display this 'diverted call' status ??!!?? I am planning to get a TyTn-II (Kaiser) - will it support???

Click to collapse
I doubt that, b'cuz i have used no. of Pocket PCs, innumerable ROMs.
This feature of notifyin' diverted calls is not there at all, in WMs.
Adieu..
Samsung i780 WM communicator has this feature if phone skin is enabled. It writes about incoming call being diverted above the caller number right in the baloon.
If phone skin is disabled - the notification for regular and diverted call is the same.

parallel calls

Hi!
I am using a feature of my telephone company which is called "parallel call". There i can have a call that is ringing on my home phone, ring on another number i can specify at the same time. Whoever picks up first, gets the call.
I know that my old Siemens S55 could at least show me, thet the call reaching my cell was a redirected one.
How can i get my Neo to show me, that a call is redirected or even better show me the phone number it originally intended to reach.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Falk

other ringtone for forwarded calls

hello,
I'm using a HTC Kaiser with a WM 6.1 rom.
Sometimes I forward a normal wired telephone number via the isdn forwarding feature ( i active this using *21*numertoforwardto# on my wired telephone here in germany) to forward incoming calls to my mobile.
When now someone calls my wired number the call is forwarded to my cellular phone, and the real caller ID is displayed (so not the id of my number I forwarded from). I think this is because it is forwarded by my provider when I use the ISDN feature and not by my phone.
My old mobile (sony ericson W810i) showed a message when a forwarded call was received(while also displaying the real caller id), which indicates, that something in the gsm or umts protocol tells the phone that it is a forwarded call. As I want to be able to distinguish if the call I receive is forwarded or not on my new phone, too, I want to know, if there is a way or tool to either display a message when I receive a forwarded call or assign another ringtone to it on my HTC Kaiser?

Did you ever find a solution? Same issue here!
Hello, I'm writing in the hope that you've found a solution to your forwarded call problem. On my old phone, a Sony Treo 650, the phone could distinguish between forwarded and original calls and I could answer them appropriately.
On my blackberry 8900, there is a brief flash on the screen that distinguishes a forwarded call, but neither the blackberry programmers nor my tmobile carrier can tell me how to generate a separate ring tone for such calls.
If you found a work-around, I'd be grateful (as would thousands of others with an identical need) for some advice.
My name's Ed. Hope to hear from you.
Kind regards.
I'm also writing in hope that you have found something to identify the forwarded call.
It does not show on mt HTC Glacier froyo 2.21. Neithet T-mobile or HTC were helpful.
FYI, I have tested it on some other phones:
Samsung Galaxy S (T-mobile) not rooted stock 2.1 shows "Forwaded Call" in a separate green window, only briefely then goes out while showing the caller number.
Other older phones like Nokia E71 also show a broken arrow for forwarded calls.
Nexus S (that is made by Samsung) stock 2.21 and some blackberries I tested did not show.
I am a newbie and so far I have found out that this function is part of the "telephony" that supposedly the manufacturer puts on the phone.
There are Several other treads in this forum under Diverted or forwarded calls, mostly asking for help. One had a reference to Windows Mobile that supposedly works but it's no help for the android.

V20 rewriting voicemail number

I bought my US996 V20 from B&B and got it shipped to the UK where I live. It works fine in the UK except for one anomaly.
I have my service provider's voicemail number 901 set up as the voicemail number in the phone settings. But if I attempt to ring 901, either by holding down the 1 key OR by simply dialling 901, my phone attempts to ring +17855366... I.e. it dials my UK mobile number but with the American prefix. I then inevitably get the "number not recognised" message.
This is evidently some consequence of the phone being intended for sale and use in North America. But I can't work out why it is doing this or how to stop it. Meanwhile I can't access my voicemail when the phone is set up properly.
To get round this, I put any random incorrect number in the phone's voicemail setting then I can manually dial 901 without the phone hijacking it and redirecting my call to +1..... So it's a minor annoyance at best, but it's intrigued me so if anybody knows why it's doing this, and how to stop it, I'd be very grateful.
All the best
Doug
