Hi people,
I'm quite new here and I know this question has been asked before but I can't find the answer listed anymore. Links to topics related to the bootloader questions seem to be missing.
I cannot enter bootloader mode on my MDA II. I am pressing the power, direction and reset buttons simultaneously, and I get grey screen saying SERIAL on the top and v1.01 on the bottom which changes to USB when placed in the cradle. It stays there. I think this is the bootloader screen but I've been told that you should be able to gain access to a menu from here. Do I need to unlock it somehow, update the bootloader, or use some sort of software? What am I doing something wrong?
Yes noob question but has to be asked....
Please advise.

yes, that's bootloader.
what do you want to do from there?
there is also another menu.
if you press reset button and hold down record + camera buttons.
search wiki for wm2005 FAQ.

I can't get it to work!!!
Hi folks: what am I missing?
I press power + direction + reset, and I get the Serial v1.01 screen and nothing happens from there. Doesn't matter if an SD card is in or not, if I press the camera, phone of any other button. It seems so simple to others that have tried, but there is a number of us who can't get past the Serial V1.01 screen.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Fernando
Hi everyone,
Before opening this thread i have done a lot of search about my problem but i could not find any solution. My pocket pc is HTC Touch 3450, it works fine but i want to unlock its CID. I tried every combination to enter bootloader mode (CAMERA + SOFT RESET, or CAMERA+POWER+SOFTRESET etc.) but when i try, it boots normally. Also there is no SD card in it. As i said everything works fine. I tried to upgrade its ROM but i got CONNECTION error in %0 of progress. I know to upgrade ROM i must enter bootloader but as i said i cannot. Also i can try to upgrade ROM via SD card but again i have to enter bootloader mode, but as i said i cannot.
When i try to enter bootloader mode it boots normally and begins the system and works everything fine. I dont know its history, i mean its my new second hand phone.
Anyone, any idea? Please help me!!!!.

Phone turned off. Hold down camera button, press power button to boot, while still holding camera button until the bootloader appears...
If you can't get your device into bootloader and you have tried all options, which it seems like you did. Consider the fact that you may have a clone, where did you purchase the phone from? This issue has been mentioned before, and that was the answer to why the bootloader wouldn't load.
Easy way to tell is check the battery, it'll say HTG instead of HTC.
Tried that matey - no good.
You see I thought that mine was a clone due to the trouble getting into bootloader, but I can see no other reason to believe its a clone, Battery says HTC as well.
I have had plenty of experience updating roms on htc devices but this has me stumped.
unfortunately it is a HTG battery, then it is a clone When i try the combinations, (power off then push power buton+camera button) it doesn't enter bootloader mode. Now i knoe that the problem is being a clone.
My next question is, what is the way to enter bootloader in clone HTC (HTC with a HTG battery)?????
Thanks
same problem. please help
crypto 2008 , same problem here.nobody knows how to do this. please help
It's the same problem for all clones.
Seems there is no way to enter the bootloader mode
Clones enter bootloader by holding the volume slider UP and pressing reset. If you hold the volume slider up and hold the camera button and hit reset you can hard reset it.

First off, you might want to try posting this in the right section (Q&A). This post is certainly not related to HD2 Android Development. Secondly, try giving your post a more explanatory title - "need help" won't really attract people who might have specific knowledge regarding your problem.
Could you explain a bit more about what you're trying to do? I assume you're trying to get some Android build working on your HD2. If so: what rom/radio are you running?
Why are you trying to get into bootloader mode, are you trying to update your rom? Performing a hard reset requires holding both volume buttons. For getting into the bootloader to flash something, only the vol - button needs to be held.
1) Power down your phone
2) Hold the vol - button
3) Press and release the power button
If this doesn't work for you, try the attached exe. It's one of the files that is included with each ROM Update Utility. Unzip it, copy it to your phone and run it. It should kick your phone straight to bootloader.

my verizon xperia is not recognized by either pc companion or seus. I am trying to do a hard reset due to the fact the lockscreen doesnt work. I have read that I can press and hold the back and search keys on front while powering on to factory reset the phone, however that does not seem to be the case. Can anyone give me some suggestions if the two button factory reset does work and that maybe I am just doing it wrong. And any suggestions as to how to get my phone to connect with seus so I can reset if teh 2 button trick is indeed not an option. Thank you to all in advance.
Doesnt anyone have an idea? I follow seus instructions. Power off wait 30 seconds, then plug in the usb cord to the pc, then press and hold the back button then inserting the usb cable into the phone... and then I wait for it to connect which it doesnt.
Please more informations.
Is your phone rooted?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
are alle drivers installed on your computer?
after that i can help you
greetz -Blizzrar-
No the device is not rooted or bootloader unlocked. it is the verizon version. Thank you for your help...
if you hold the "BACK" button, the LED turns green?
Are you sure that you have all drivers installed for Zeus mode?
plz Check that out in your systeminformations / hardware / SEMC Flash device
this must be installed. Maybe google this and downlodet this driver.
wait for reply
When i press the back button the light is still blue. I will google the drivers you mentioned. The only drivers I hae installed so far are the s1fastboot. What is ZUES? Thank you again
you will repair your phone with sony pc-companion right?
This works only in SEMC / ZEUS mode. The Led is than still green.
in the moment you are in fastboot mode.
then you holding the "SEARCH" botton and plugged your device the Led is blue.
You are in the wrong mode^^
Please holding the BACK botton, not the SEARCH botton.
sorry my english is bad i hope you can understand me
I want to repair it with the Sony update software if possible. However no matter what I do the phones light is blue, and pressing the back button does not change it to green. Also as I am not able to go beyond the lockscreen I am unable to enter into the phones settings.... I tried to do a search for the drivers you mentioned but I am still not able to find anything... the only drivers I have installed are the S1Fastboot drivers..
thats bad that you canĀ“t go in SEMC Mode.
Please look in the developers area of the xperia play. search the topic to unlock your bootloader.
Unlock it and use the fastbootmode to recover your device.
Ok, I will start looking there. Thank you for your assistance blizzrar, I really appreciate your feedback and guidance
Hello. So I'm new to rooting and I wanted to root my old phone to boot custom os. So I researched a bit and got to know that the process needs use of the power button. But the physical power button on my phone is broken. Therefore my question is can I root it or not? If yes then how?
You CAN unlock the bootloader and root your device without the power buttons using the adb and fastboot commands in pc. But there still might be stuff that needs a physical power button to be present.
NOTE: I am still new to this stuff and what I am writing could have been wrong (most probably it isn't) as this is my first thread. Please inform me if I wrote something wrong.
Quite often there are test points for all the side buttons so that the main board can be tested without the side board. They usually go to ground.
