My (Genie) WAP dialup number is 915000. How should the country/area codes be configured please (if left empty they default to 0 and (125).
This obviously does not connect.
TIA

To answer my own question - whether the country/area codes are actually dialled or not is determined by the settings in:
Settings/Connections/Dialling Locations/Dialling Patterns. In this case 'g' should be entered for international calls, for the appropriate dialling location (Work, Home etc.).
Similarly, to dial an 0845 number for the GSM connection, the "+44" should be dropped, so the entry is 'fg'.
I notice that there are similar questions on the Forum - and I hope this helps.

Hi,
Hope someone can help....my main problem with this scenario, is that I cannot for the life of me find an input box for the username/password supplied to me by my ISP!
I have lots of free minutes and would like to use my XDA I to collect email from my ISP [Claranet] who have supplied me with a UK Geographical number [an 0207 number in London].
I go to setup a new connection...but there's nowhere to input my username and password! I'm clearly doing something wrong...but can somebody help, please?
All other screens appear, and I can input everything...except User/pass combo for the account to which I am dialling in.
GPRS is fine etc, but I do much want to use up these free minutes on collecting my email!
Thanks for any help that can be given, this is driving me mad.

Did you choose Cellular Line as modem type? On the first page of creating a new connection
second page is the number
third page is the user name / Password
Hi,
Thanks for your help....but I am certain that the screens you are seeing are for the XDA II on WinMobile 2003.
There are no such screns on the XDA I, running PPC2002.
However, your attentions are most appreciated!
Best wishes,
Mike
sorry , yes these are from XDAII PPC2003.
I don't recall how it was done on PPC2002.
I have a friend in Brazil who just bought a Magician and he's having some problems with it. Basically, all his contacts in Outlook have the following format: +55 11 3333-3333 (country code, city code, number). When he tries to call anybody from his contact list the network doesn't complete the call because the phone is dialing the country code and the city code and the network (TIM Brasil) apparently only accepts local calls if you dial only the number, without city code or country code. He told me he tried changing the dialing rules and changing the regional settings but nothing seemed to work.
Anybody have a clue about a solution?
Thanks
M.
Same problem
I'm having the same problem. I live in Brazil and use TIM.
Plus we need to choose long distance carriers for every call.

nope?! no one here can help...
no one has this software?
how can you dial with IDD prefix or phone card that need to input a series of strings and numbers?? thx.
Hi
I just found another software called myprefixdial -- small and efficient program which is useful.
you can set three different there
for example
I can set
profile 1 as prefix of 1666
profile 2 as prefix of 0060
both of the above are IDD prefix with better long distance calling rate
I can also set
profile 3 as prefix of 1333
which at HK means hiding caller ID.
actually for each profile you can set prefix and postfix
I find the above program very useful, but would also like to take a look of the O2 Dial Wizard for XDA II
may I ask no one has the O2 Dial Wizard for upload? thanks.
Can anyone help here??

I just keep receiving the message that this file is only used for o2 machine.
Thanks.
got it installed but I cannot see the options of o2 dial wizard under the 'phone' tools option.
I am using o2 xda with CHS ROM..
Is this only for XDA II but not mini??
do I need to install some other programs first?
this one is not working, I can only see o2 dial wizard in contacts
but in 'phone' application, I see noting in the tools menu
this is for Xda IIs, still not running on my Xda II too.
does anyone can "cracked" this tool for other device ??
if you still cannot find a working one for xda II mini, use this one instead..so far so good.

In Windows Mobile, would anyone know how to configure "+" in phone contacts to translate to specific international direct dial access code?

That is done automatically, you don't need to configure anything.
If you have special needs (some dialling prefix etc), you can try Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->Extended->Dialling Rules (translated from a German TyTN, so the names on your device will probably be a bit different. "Extended" is simply the right tab; I have a feeling that on an English device its name may be completely different )
Cheers
Daniel
Thanks.
Yes I do need to dial the prefix provided by a long distance service which is cheaper than default IDD service of my mobile company.
I have tried but somehow it didn't work. I will do further research I think I may not have configured the dialling rules correctly.
