When my xda turns itself off after the set time it disables my bluetooth network, problem is i want to leave it logged into msn messenger..
is there any way to stop it doing this?
then don't set the auto-off of your phone.. the bluetooth app is part of the PDA function so if you turn off the phone naturally the bluetooth will too.. sorry..

When connecting my MDA Pro II to my laptop the connection via bluetooth gets established alright and I can surf the internet for a few minutes. But then the connection breaks down, as the phone has switched off bluetooth by itself! I cannot switch it back on, and I will have to reset the phone altogether to start anew. Does anyone have the same problem or a solution? Thanks!
Same here!!!
Turn off Pushmail and other apps
Turn off any app that might use the NET.
I got so freakin' frustrated with this before I had a bright moment
(first one ever)
Turn of activesync, pushmail etc on your device, SPB GPRS monitor, any app that tries to connect.
Your modem function just can't stand that.
Having a bit of trouble here, there may be an easy fix and im jus not seeing the obvious maybe! I expect this happens to a lot of people: when you leave messenger connected, every time the hd2 screen goes off, the wifi switches off and it tries to connect to mobile network. Now, i dont want to disable the stanby setting, and i dont want to force the wifi to stay on, thatd kill battery! Is there a way i can set only windows live to stay on the mobile connection, so it doesnt keep disconnecting it?

Sorry, don't understand the problem...
i want to force windows live to use my 3g connection, as the wifi turns off in standby and interrupts it.
Well if wifi disconnects, WL will "automatically" switch to 3G anyway...
I know, but it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting wlm, what i want to try and do is get wl to use ONLY a network connection, not wifi. Is it possible?
Not that I know of.
You might want to try turning wifi off, connecting WLM, so that it connects via 3G, then turn wifi on, off etc.
In many cases when a program opens a connection through a particular interface, it will stick to it unless it has no choice. So if it initiates the connection through data it might still use data even when wifi is on. Needs experimenting.
I am having this horrible issue with my Wifi and bluetooth.
1. WIFI: When I turn on WiFi after a reboot it works flawlessly, connects to my wifi network and I can zoom around the net just dandy. As soon as I go out of range of WiFi or manually disconnect it it will NOT turn back on it says "Unable to start Wifi" until I do a full reboot. So annoying.
2.) Bluetooth: When connecting to my Headset it connects just fine after a reboot. HOWEVER, after pairing, if I put the X10 standby with the powerbutton before making a call it will drop the bluetooth audio connection and only play sound through the earpiece. Even though it SAYS it's still connected and paired. And THEN when I shut off bluetooth and try to turn it back on, pretty much the same as the wifi thing except I get no error message it just tries to initiate bluetooth and then sits for a few minutes and then I guess gives up and keeps the bluetooth shut off without any indication of failure.
I'm guessing it's defective but if anyone has had this issue, please speak up! And even better if you know how to solve it. Thanks!! =)
I too am having the same issue with wifi. Also my x10 is superslow on my wifi @ times. So i run a speedtest and I get 3MB, which is fast, but the phone isn't using that speed while browsing the internet.
Hello,
I experienced the same thing as you. Moreover I have a trouble with Bluetooth in my car. After few seconds (around 1 minute) of talk, I don't loose the BT connexion but nobody understand me !!!
Have you tried your BT?
Have you got a task killer running that's killing your bluetooth and wifi?

I have a TF-101 and have found it works well using bluetooth to tether with my HTC Rezound. Both are running ICS. But the problem is that I have to manually initiate the BT connection from my tablet each time I want to use it. It disconnects when WiFi connects, which is fine, but then if I go away from a WiFi connection, I have to manually connect BT again. Does anyone know a way to make this connection happen automatically when WiFi is lost? Either from an App or through a tweak? (I am rooted).
I searched Google Play and didn't find anything, but maybe there's something out there I missed.
I know this is not exactly Android head unit topic but it's closely related to using the device.
So here's what's going on. When I manually turn on wifi tethering (Hotspot) on my phone (NOA H10, 7.1.1 nougat), device (head unit) connects to it as it should, and everything works.
On the otherhand when I use tasker, or any other app to trigger wifi tethering on Bluetooth connection, the hotspot turns on but device can't connect to it. I get obtaining IP address issue, and when I set to static IP it connects for a few seconds and then drops the connection. It's really frustrating because I know it can work.
I know l can always turn the hotspot on manually when I get into the car but I want it to be automatically turned on when Bluetooth connects to my unit.
Anyone else has/had this kind of issues? Any ideas/solutions?
AFAIK most of these units don't support bluetooth tethering at all. Not really sure if any do at all.

I'm not talking about bluetooth tethering.
Ok I get it, trigger wifi on bluetooth connection with the triggering attempted on the phone side.
I have 0 experience with android phones but I know my iphone will never allow a connection (to anything) unless you open the hotspot setting manually. When I do that my units all automatically connect.

I use Macrodroid app to activate the hotspot when muy phone is conected by bluetooth, and all runs ok
I tried macrodroid. Same thing as the other apps. It turns on hotspot but can't connect to it.
So here's the SITREP, when I use connected to a bluetooth device trigger without specifying a device, the hotspot works. Only if variable, device name and/or mac address is specified the device will not connect to hotspot.
Install and use this plugin
Doesn't work. But I managed to get it work with secure settings and touch task plugins.

I'm using secure settings and touch task Tasker plugins to simulate manual hotspot toggle. When my phone connects to my headunit it triggers screen on then screen unlock to unlock the phone, then quick settings (drop down) menu and finally touch on hotspot tethering icon. Same command is executed on Bluetooth disconnected status.
