Data Encryption : WEP
Network Key : your 10 digit network key, by default printed on the bottom of the router.
Key index : 1

EAP type : PEAP
BT Voyager1250:-
Network name : Whatever you've called it
Wireless Channel 6(2437 Mhz)
Encryption - Enabled with default 64 bit encryption key
SSID broadcast - Enabled

Vodafone GPRS setup

Hi,
I have an unlocked XDA using a Vodafone GPRS sim. I have followed the directions posted on this board to configure the GPRS and when I connect through the system settings, connections I (for a short while) get the 'G' symbol appear and then I get a connection dropped sound.
Is this due to a poor connection, or is there something wrong with the setup?
VODAFONE GPRS
I am using these settings:-
Modem type : Cellular Line (GPRS)
Baud rate : 19200
IP Address : Server assigned
Software compression : Off
Header Compression : Off
DNS : Server assigned
ALT DNS : Server assigned
WINS : Server assigned
ALT WINS : Server assigned
AccessPointName (APN): internet
Username : web
Password : web
Domain : none
Dialing locations
area code : 425
country code : 1
Dialing patterns
local : G
long distance : none

Thanks guys, big help
Those settings worked for me in the UK with Vodafone, many thanks!
UK Vodafone GPRS
I have had all sorts of fun with Vodafone GPRS recently. It used to work then it packed up about a month ago for no apparent reason. After 6 calls to Vodafone support and all the usual hassle with trying to convince them that an O2 XDA will work with Vodafone it turned out they had disabled my GPRS account without telling me.
It took a further two calls to get the APN internet renabled. It seems that GPRS means WAP access to Vodafone, not necessarily internet access through an APN. Worth giving them a call to make sure you account is fully enabled for internet as well as WAP.

Have the O2 XDA Exec myself, but the settings should be the same, checked with my Acer N50 to make sure
Leap is blank for me too.
some setting differences betweens yours and mine
neither the NE2000 or tiacswln cards have been touched in anyway, left them as default.
mine is set to connect to 'The Internet'
the key is provided for me automatically is unchecked, I manually typed it in with the key index.
use Ieee 802.1x is unchecked
check the belkin setup page, and see if the XDAIIi is staying connected or it is connecting and disconnecting.
looking at the manual, check the Belkin setup page at Firewall/Client IP Filters and make sure the PDA isn't being blocked there. Also check that the Mac Address Filtering is not enabled, if it is, you will need to add the PDA MAC address into it.
Hi Wytey
Thaks a lot, your configuration works perfectly.

WiFi Connectivity Issues

Hi Guys!
I've been reading here as a guest for a while and finally took the leap to buy an iMate Jasjar. So far so good, buuuut...
I am trying to connect it to my home WiFi LAN and having some troubles.
The home WiFi AP is set to up as a gateway and connected to a router (ie AP = 10.0.0.10 and Router = 10.0.0.3). Therefore, a device connecting via a DHCP client which doesn't allow the gateway to be specified isn't very useful.
On the JasJar, I would like to be able to specify the IP, NetMask, Gateway, etc. Is there a way to do this?
Similarly, when I select the 'Configure Network Authentication' window on the JasJar and select Authentication = WPA and Data Encryption = TKIP, it auto-checks the 'The key is automatically provided' - which it isn't! The key needs to be manually entered.
Worse yet, in the next tab "Configure Network Authentication" it forces "Use IEEE 802.1x network access control" for PEAP (not supported on my AP) or "Smart Card or Certificate" (I have no smart card and I have no idea how to issue a certificate).
So sorry to be asking what must seem like gross newb questions, but I'm so keen to use my Jasjar with my wifi.
Is there a chance someone might know the answers?
Kind Regards - Virgil.
WiFi Connectivity
Is your AP a brodband router if so check DHCP configurations add the gataway to your DHCP config.
Explain what device you have probably some one may help you.
Kind regards
Howlingwolf
Thanks for the reply.
The devices in question are:
* JasJar (PPC/PDA, etc)
* Linksys WRT54GC (AP)
There does not appear to be provision for a general routing entry (ie all connections route from 10.0.0.10 (the AP/Gateway) to the router (10.0.0.3)). Unless I'm really missing something.
Cheers - Virgil.
EDIT: Entered bad IPs.

WiFi problem :(

Hey, i have a problem with wifi ... its already showing that its connected to wifi router.. but the internet not working i had this problem from weeks ! .. till now cant find the way to fix it ! ... what do u think ? is there any apps can let the wifi work perfectly with internet ? .. or is there anyway to get back the internet ? .. i dunno its just showing that already connected to my wirless but no net ...
msTx.
This problem can not be answered with the information you gave us, for the problem might well be the network you attempt to connect to. If for some reason your router only allows local access, you will be able to connect, without being able to reach the internet.
First try disabling all security on your router (including mac-filter!) and attempt a connection. If it doesn't fly from there, give us some more info. (What kind of router, phone firmware etc.)
well, i will check my router settings and check the security... and i will give u the answer l8r ... anyway thx
i checked everything .. and my laptop works perfect with wifi 100% ! , but my xperia still doesnt work and also i restarted my router .. so here's the information about my router ..
It's Linksys router .
Network Mode: Mixed
Network Name (SSID): Linksys Router
Radio Band: 40 MHz Channel
Wide Channel: 9
Standard Channel: GHz 11 - 2.462 GHz
Wireless SSID Broadcast: Enabled

Security Mode : WPA2-Personal
Encryption: TKIP or AES
Pre-Shared Key: ******* (wireless password)
Key Renewal: 3600 Seconds
I dont want to Disable Security mode .. coz everyone will join my wireless and make more pressure and slow my net.

MAC Filter is DISABLED

N Transmission Rate: Auto
CTS Protection Mode: Disabled

Check them if anything wroung .. and thx
From the looks of it, your settings aren't "flawed" (to any extent you can speak of flawed anyway).
I meant disabling the security as a temporary test. If disabling allows you to connect, the problem lies there.
Also something that might help is changing the channel you're on.
If that doesn't help, update your router's firmware.
Finally, try connecting to another network with your X1, if that does work, the problem lies in compatibility (most often resolved with firmware updates for your router).
mstx while you are at it also test the following:
1. are the proxy settings on the phone correct? normally they should be empty
2. can you connect fine with the phone from activesync from the laptop
3. are your ip settings correct? some networks requires them to be static (you manually set the correct ip, subnet, gateway) instead of dynamic (from the dhcp server)?
4. when you connect to the wifi network it should ask you to select internet or work. select internet.
Heeey , i fixed it !.. now its work perfect !! ... well, the problem was in the xperia my wifi connection setting, the wifi setting was "connect to WORK" .. so I changed it "connect to THE INTERNET" .. and it works ...
anyway thanks guys !!
i think the problem come from here
Pre-Shared Key: ******* (wireless password)
try using a wep key instead
i think that wireless passxord doesn't work well on windows mobile
