I don't like getting a text message every time I send one to tell me what I already know: The message has been sent.
I never used this feature on my older phones and I have faith that the message is sent when I press "Send".
How do I turn off this feature on the Magician?
eh?

are you using SPB Pocket Plus,
if yes, try this:
in your SPB Pocket plus options,go to 'Close Buttons' options, then 'Exceptions', and add tmail.exe from your windows/ folder.

Hi,
the PHM site seems to be down for some time now, could anyone put Alt-Tab here?
Lars
If its included in the PowerToys grab it here:
http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/de/index.php?soft=766
ok, I could extract the .msi from there, inside were three cab's of which I could extract lots of small files, though those had weird extensions like .018. I tried renaming one of them to .exe, after that it hat even an icon, but it said it's no PPC executable.
Are those single files also packed somehow?
Lars
edit: I tried every file in that cab now, some of them are executable, though none of them is Alt-Tab. I even installed the whole Application, also no Alt-Tab to find...
use wisbar and setup one of your buttons to do alt-tab...thats what i do

MemMaid found 44 dupes in the Notification Que they were all sddaemon.exe. Is it ok to remove the dupes? What does sddaemon do?
i think MemMaid deleted all my emails =/ or maybe its another problem with the wizard
There is a bug in Windows Mobile 5 that causes duplicate notifications... I believe I read that here somewhere... not sure what it does but deleting the dupes has never caused me an issue. I use MemMaid at startup to clean up when my device boots. I make a habit of restarting the phone once a day and it runs great.

It's the background process for voice dial.
It's not just safe to delete the duplicates (just the duplicates, nothing else!) but also adviseable. If you have lots of them they can slow down your device.
dupes
is there a way to prevent dupes from occuring or is that just a bug?

I think you need ROM 2.x for that.
one quick question aboiut memmaid
on wm5, is there supposed to be softkeys support (so you don't have to tap the screen)?

Yeah. Comfirmed that. As a matter of fact, i removed sddaemon from my start up list to avoid it duppping itself on my notification list again. I never use the voice dial anyway. Recommend those who does use voice dial to do the same.

Hi all,
I'm looking for a today screen plug-in that shows the number of new sms i've received. Something like a picture of an envelope? have tried phonealarm but not really my cup of tea?
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers, Dug
Try the Messaging today plugin. It's already on your phone.
It tells you how many messages you've received, and it even has a picture of an envelope.

Hi all,
My Vario II kepps telling me that it's trying to run a programme when it switches back on to the today screen from standby.
I can't find this application (I'm pretty sure its from a previously removed programme) in windows/start menu/ or, windows/startup
It also doesn't appear in the today screen anywhere.
Anyone any ideas where it might be located, or how to remove it?
Thanks
Ratzz
Notifications
Try using MemMaid or some similar software to look in the notification queue, there are events that can happen when the PPC come out of standby - maybe there is one in there for the app that is being called.
You never mentioned what the app was....
Charlie Grillo
Hi Charlie,
Boy, that was a quick reply!
I will give MemMaid a go - the application was part of TomTom which I removed.
Ratzz
The file is called 'services' and is located in the windows directory.
Has anyone else got this file in their directory? Do I need it?
Thanks
Ratzz

BTW, I used 'Mobile TaskManager v1.4.5' for what it's worth - a good little freeware tool.
on HTC home screen. How can I set it to show today date for calendar and task. I saw some of you have that on yours, and some even have how many days to the next task, etc.
How can I do that?
I use SPB Diary, others use SBSH PocketBreeze. Look into either of these and see if they are what you are looking for.
