GPRS Settings
PAP is the GPRS setting to use.
But you must also set the proxy server name to "wireless.cingular.com" for internet access.
For MSN IM you will need to remove this proxy server each time.
Or you can load Agile software and not worry the proxy for IM.
John

CONECTION
How about
Please select Slot
O Class 8 (4R1T)
O Class 10(3R2T)
Also if I look @ My ISP
Name Number
GPRS Conection wirless.cingular.com
is this correct
?
thanks 4 u'r response
Adrian

Use the class 8
and yes the "wireless.cingular.com" should work.

WAP and T-Mobile

Hi
ON my nokia I had wap access to check headlines and football scores. How do I enable the same facility on an XDA ?
You need to run a seperate WAP browser, like EZ WAP. Search the boards here for EZ WAP and you'll find links to places to get it. Once you have it, there's a great WAP config description for T-Mo at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=3675
Hope this helps
I've tried following the steps given in several different threads for configuring this on my XDA but have been unsuccessful. I've been trying to use EZWap to configure it, but it cannot connect. I think its something to do with my network connections on my phone that just arent right. Can anyone walk me through setting up the actual network connection settings for WM2003? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i installed the mms from the O2 uk rom... (from zip posted here somewhere)...
i get mm2 notifications, but i cant download them...
any ideas?
WAP using IE in WM2003
Supposedly IE in WM2003 has support for WAP browsing. However, when I set up a "TZONES" connection and set up the AP to ( wap.voicestream.com ) and the proxy to ( 216.155.165.50:9201 ), and I try to navigate to:
wap.myvoicestream.com
It no longer works. However, if I navigate to any "regular" www page, it comes up just fine. Has anyone else successfully been able to configure their WM2003 ( TMobile PPCPE ) to access their TZones via IE using the WAP connection/Proxy settings ?
I was thinking of installing EzWap 2.5 again, but during the install it said it was going to replace wapdrv.dll and I wasn't going to run the risk of overwriting a necessary file, so I exited the installation of ExWAP.
Anyone gotten this to work ???

Eureka !!! You don't need EzWap or Klondike !!!
<Edited - It was LarryH from Horward Forums who originally helped me out with this...it was his idea to try out a different URL monicker. Thanks again Larry ! >
With LarryH's help, we've discovered that it IS possible to access T-Mobile's TZones pages once you've undergone the upgrade to WM2003 from T-Mobile's SITE.
After you set up your connection to use the WAP accesspoint:
wap.voicestream.com
Under Proxy Settings:
WAP: 216.155.165.50 port: 9201
SWAP: 216.155.165.50 port: 9203
You don't have to set the HTTP or SOCKS,
as TMobile doesn't support SOCKS, and the HTTP port ( 80 ) is already open on their gateway server.
To access your TZones homepage, just open IE, and enter:
wsp://wap.myvoicestream.com
apparently entering:
http://wap.myvoicestream.com
will confuse IE in WM2003 for PPC, and
it will say "Unable to find page".
Everyone, enjoy your TZones under WM2003.
Marcelo
but my MSN Messenger don't work
my MSN Messenger still don't work. I have set access point to wap.voicestream.com
do i need to set up something else? or purchase other data plans from tmobile?

I just tried that on my PPC PE and I was able to sign on to MSN Messenger. Are you sure you have the Connection you set up to access the proper proxy address and ports. Make sure you setup the user/password for your msn account properly, because if you type it in wrong, it won't let you log in.
Let me know if you run into any problems.

Does anyone know the WAP settings for t-mobile uk ?
OK my settings are:
cellular line GPRS
access point name: wap.voicestream.com
user name password and domain all blank
proxy settings this network connects to the net check
this network uses a proxy server to connect to the net checked
proxy server is 216.155.165.050
under the advanced part all but socks are set to same IP
WM2003
I connect to GPRS but it says page cannot be found
any ideas why?
figured it out and took out the proxy stuff and access the web now.
I would also like the uk settings and a fool proof step by step instruction, please.
Thanks for any guidance

Is this what you have so far:
How do I configure my PC for my new mobile Internet access?
Prior to using GPRS service, you will need to configure your PC using the CD-ROM included with your handset or device. If your software is not already configured, you will be asked for your Access Point Name (APN). Enter internet.fido.ca when prompted. Then enter your user name (fido) and password (fido).
If not give it a try.
Ok some of this is new to me. I did not get a CD with my SX56. I got if off eBay and the seller didn't include as Siemens CD but he did give me a cd wit some files on it...I have no clue what they were so I left them alone...
So now I have to configure somethin on my Desktop PC b4 using GPRS on my mobile device? I'm very lost at this point. I do have those fido settins, altho I think wap.fido.ca is the propper APN.
Thanks for helpin out man. I'd love if somebody could clear this for me. Thanks in advance

WAP over GPRS problem

Hi everybody!
I've just register to this cool forum but I've been reading the threads for a time now!
I don't have the solution to your Gprs problem sorry, but I cannot connect to the wap over Gprs and I have no error message when I connect to the Gprs.
I'am now using rom 1.12 FR and removed the extended rom.
If someone could help me to fix this problem, it would just be great.
Thanks a lot.
first check if you have set properly connection settings
http://www.mobistar.be/en/service/howto-GSM_Configurator/manual.html
remember that using WAP services on pocket internet explorer you have to use wsp:// instead of http:// at the beginning of every WAP adress

What about WAP sites that begin with http:// ? I cant seem to connect to those, cause when I insert http the explorer reads it as a normal webpage, and its a WAP page

Two proxies one for PC and the other for WAP over GPRS

I have two proxies I should insert in my proxy settings in the connection icon. One to be used when I connect my JAM to PC through bluetooth to be able to use the internet connection I have (10.0.0.1) and the other I have to replace it with my WAP configuration to be able to use WAP over GPRS (192.168.23.50) . Any method you have guys to put them both without each time I want to connect I have to erase the old proxy and insert the new one. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Why do you need second proxy??? You can use your Pocket Internet Explorer over usual GPRS connection to view any WAP resources and it will be cheaper because GPRS traffic usually cheaper than WAP
I see only one reason to use WAP gateway - is to be able to access operator's content pages
Thanks for your reply. I need my ISP proxy since I am able to view any homepage as it is and not in WAP mode so as if I have a GPRS connection but only restricted to Internet explorer. I cannot use for instance the MSN messanger and other internet related applications .
and if I put the 10.2.2.1 proxy and leave the wap proxy 192.168.50.23 and try to browse through internet explorer it gives me an error
Any help would be appreciated.
