Interesting page to use Toshiba BT on XDA Mini - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

http://www.it-cq.com/viewthread.php?tid=20971&sid=oy3TOqSH

Should have just included this anyway
BT Stack for XDA II mini
Can run on Xda II Mini without change your MSBT
1. disable your MS BT (Don't need to remove it)
2. Download driver from Toshiba (Toshiba BT Stack)
http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/pages/disclaimer.php?dt=bts&download=4us
3. Connect your mini with active sync.
4. Install the driver.
5. Soft Reset your device.
Optional
6. Remove your MS BT
by deleting this registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTIcon]
then reboot.
If you don't wish to remove the key, you can disable it by editing this parameter value under the registry key
change
"Dll"="BTIcon_Dll.dll" to
"Dll"="BTIcon_Dll.dll.disabled"
then reboot. When WM2003SE tries to load the Dll driver, it can't find it and therefore the MS BT system tray icon will not be activated.

does it work on the MDAIII ?

u can use the resco registry tool that comes with resco explorer.
alternatively, use PHM registry tool

still no luck locating the string.. when i go to /services folder in the reg i get a bunch of folders none of them has the mentioned string or the bticon.dll... is the dir structure on pda2k different?
anyone with mda III or pda2k actually done this???
thanks

I had this problem with Calendar Plus. BT went totally unreliable and I would get "bluetooth not found" errors. Ended up removing Calendar Plus and all was good again.
Ian
ianwood,
Well, I have problems with an icon only. The bluetooth itself is working fine. I was reinstalling everything today after a hard reset and was specifically waching for that issue. After installing Pocket plus the BT icon disapeared.
@Gevor
Did a clean install last weekend.
Also SPB Pocket Plus 2.5 build 2084
Still have the Bluetooth icon in the corner (did a few resets also)
So nothing wrong overhere

porblems at Pocketplus
there are some problems with pocketplus running on xda2 and mini..
you will not be able to see the storage card indicators as it has bugs in it. that's why SPB has disabled them (this is what i read from their website forum spbsoftwarehouse.com)
BT icon gone? have a read at pocket breeze website forum. this is how you overcome this problem:
There is a workaround for this problem.
It's not pretty, it requires hacking the registry, but it works.
I found it at http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthr...7403#post397403, but had to make a slight adjustment.
I assume that you know
- How to install form a CAB file
- How to create and edit a shortcut on your Pocket PC
- How to edit the registry on your Pocket PC
Ready? Here we go:
1) Download NoPluginsToday (you'll most likely want the ARM version) from http://www.ictinus.com/NoPluginsToday/
2) Install the CAB somewhere. Make sure you know the exact location of NoPluginsToday.exe (e.g. \Storage\NoPluginsToday\NoPluginsToday.exe)
3) Create a shortcut to NoPluginsToday.exe in \Windows\Startup. Name this shortcut ZzzNoPluginsToday, so that it is last in the list of shortcuts to be launched.
4) Start a registry editor, and go to HKLM\init. Look for keys named LaunchXX. You'll want to create a new String key named LaunchYY, where YY is a bigger number than any of the XX you found. I created Launch99. The value for LaunchYY is the exact location of NoPluginsToday.exe (e.g. \Storage\NoPluginsToday\NoPluginsToday.exe) you looked up earlier.
Now you're set! Do a soft reset, and see your Bluetooth icon again! You'll notice your startup time may be a little longer.
How does it work?
The BT icon disappears because of a timeout issue when loading plugins.
We solve this by using NoPluginsToday, which switches all Today plugins off, remembers the settings, and reactivates them the next time it is executed.
By calling NoPluginsToday twice, once via the registry (early) and then again via \Windows\Startup (late), we "postpone" the loading of Today plugins until after the BT icon has been activated. That's your longer startup time for you.
Hope this helps!
cheers,
sheggario
Thanks for the tip, will try it out.
Been running PocketPlus 2.x on my Qtek S100 since the day I got it and no problems with the BT icon so far.
Same here .. PPlus2.5 on a Qtek s100 since they started to deliver them in Sweden..

Carlis

Cyberon Voice Commander 1.6 for Other Devices!

I found a copy of Cyberon Voice Commander 1.6 (not the crappy Voice Speed Dial) here and tried to run it on my Verizon XV6700. Not only did it mess up the hardware button configuration on my device - the program wouldn't run, saying that it's not supported on my device.
In looking further, I found out that the main executable was looking for the hardware ID string PU10 (for the Universal). I changed it to PA10A1, which is the ID for my XV6700 (Sprint users may be slightly different, I don't know), used the SignCode program here to re-sign the modified application, and it worked fine on my XV6700!
I found out that the HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand registry key was the reason my hardware button mapping was getting all screwy. I removed that registry entry, modified the VCStatic.INI file's HotKey entry, and the button assignment is working fine now. I just have to manually assign the Record button (or whatever you want) to "Voice Commander."
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Programs/Unsigned_cvc16-ppc-xv6700-usa.CAB
As I understand it, Sprint users with the new ROM update might have Voice Commander already embedded. I just thought I might give an alternative to Microsoft Voice Command and to Verizon XV6700 users who are still... waiting for their corresponding ROM update.
Do you think you would be able to modify this file to work on the 8125? I wouldn't mind "compensating" you in any way I can (I can offer some web hosting if you would like some).
Can you tell me what the model number is of the Cingular 8125?
For instance, the Universal was PU10, while the Apache was PA10A1. The program looks for that particular model number.
The model number is WIZA100
And for my Qtek 9100 ?
The model number is WIZA200
Thanks !
Not trying to push but my trial for Microsoft Voice Commander was up today and I want to know if I I should really spend the $50.00 or if this will work for what I need it to do.
Any news on the program?
I have a 6700 and have no issues running the microsoft voice command 1.5 with many bluetooth earpeaces. You need to install the following http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=7396 and then modify the registry. Take a look at the registry key HKLM\software\OEM\voicecommand and there is a subkey you can change from sddialer.exe to \program files\voice command\voicecmd.exe
Thats it. When you press on your bluetooth headset button you will hear the microsoft voice command chime. It works for me and it will work for you.
Mike

Thanks for creating these BTT. Would you mind if at some point I integrate the wiz100 version into a custom ROM for the 8125?
Bluetooth Headset Problem
I have done that to my 8125 however it didn't work. I still have the same issue with BT not working until a reset.
Here is something I tried that is working for me...

Would it be possible to throw a build together for the JAMin?
The JAMin's model number is: PM300
Thanks in advance!!!
Thanks BeyondtheTech !
Will this also work with a GERMAN QTEK 9100 ROM ? I have an MDA VARIO ( which is the HTC WIZARD ) - so the ID is the same.
I am basically interested in how much better Voice Commander is compared to the Voice Speed Dial.
I read something about an SMS Reader on the Cyberon Homepage - what does this do? Will it read out received SMS?
On the Homepage there is also a PDF I downloaded which states different language packs. From the naming of your .CAB ( usa ) I guess yours is only for english devices or used with the english language.
Anychance I can get a hold of the GERMAN Language Pack as well?
Best regards & thanks for all your effort!
Will this work for WM 2003 ppc?
Can you please make a Version for the MIO A701
The ID is
PXA270
Thanks. NAdavi
BTT, can you create one for the BA with WM5? Device is PH20B. Thanks.

PHM Registry Editor
I found one app easy to use. No installation needed, It's an exe file.
Task Manager from fdcsoft.
As it's name shows, reg editing was not it's original purpose, but it does it simply, directly on your pocket pc.
I've used it on my HTC Touch Cruise.
Hope it will help you like it did for me.
Simply type fdcsoft in google to get it !
Personally i use CERegEditor, tried some of the others and this was the best for me

Question regarding IRDA of ATOM Life

I would like to ask if anyone experienced this
i cannot send any file via irda to another mobile phone tested units( nokia n73, nokia n95 8gb and sony eric. k750i). but the thing is i can use novii remote to control my sharp television...any ideas...
thanks for the many help....
by the way my os is wm 5 and rom version is WWE_RC1070307b2
Hi, is the option "Receive Beam" selected in Settings>Connection>Beam?
yes sir the option accept all incoming beam is selected...i cant send also files via infrared
hmm..
use a free registry editor like PHm regestry and do these steps as below.
Browse to HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Obex.
Check whether IsEnabled key is set to 1. If not then set it to 1. Reboot using any third party software like ShutXp or quickmenu. Do not use the stylus to reset. Now you should be able to use the bluetooth.
About IrDa. Sorry to say I still have not been able to make it work.
try hard reset

Cyberon Voice Commander with bluetooth

I am running Dutty's rom with MSVC but I have found that Cyberon Voice Commander is a better solution for me. I have managed to change the long press to launch CVS but for some reason my carkit still wants to use MSVC.
I have done some searching and changed the regkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path to point to the CVS exe file but this has no effect.
Please can somebody point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Sully
I have been round the houses with this and still can't get it working, how can I stop it using Microsoft voice commander over bluetooth.
So far I have changed reg keys
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/Audiogateway
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path
Tired jetware with patch CVSD_Patch.CAB and also tried Project_VCABT.cab from a Russian forum.
No matter waht I do it will always bring up MSVC instead of Cyberon Voice Commander when I press the key on my bluetooth.
I have also tried a bluetooth headset in case it was a problem with my parrot.
Thanks
Sully
There must be solution to the problem, just need to know where the setting is that tells the HD what program to use for voice dialing.
I have found a crude solution, if you copy all the files from the cyberon folder over to the windows folder and rename voice commander.exe file to coicecmd.exe it works.
Would love to know how to change it properly.
Thanks
Sully
