Regedit for pda - P3600 General

Dear Friends !!! I wonder anyone can give a hand to get the Regedit for PDA
Thanks

total commander does an ok job
or
PHM Registry Editor

I found one app easy to use. No installation needed, It's an exe file.
Task Manager from fdcsoft.
As it's name shows, reg editing was not it's original purpose, but it does it simply, directly on your pocket pc.
I've used it on my HTC Touch Cruise.
Hope it will help you like it did for me.
Simply type fdcsoft in google to get it !

Personally i use CERegEditor, tried some of the others and this was the best for me

But it's not free..
Total Commander CE V2.0
It's not the best but it is free and works fine.
TaskMgr is the best and is free, and much more function
I like PHM Registry Editor myself. You can find a copy right here on the ftp site:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Software/PPC Software MAIN/RegEdit_0.7.cab
Its free and works well. The one in TaskManager is very slick too, but for me it comes with too much baggage when all I want to do is regedit.
Try out Free TaskManager2.7 it comes with registry editor

What is the best and easiest Register Editor?

I am new and i just want to know what is the best and easiest register editor for the touch cruise.
Thanks
Welcome in XDA
I use this : http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
Or you can use this from PC : http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/
thanks for your help
Total Commander is another alternative. I can confirm that it works on the cruise since i have used it to implement many of the tweaks in this forum.
I agree.
Total Commander rocks !
@+
Total Commander rocks!
Resco Register used much easier than PHM.
Yes but PHM is free
I use Pocket Controller Pro.
PHM
PHM is the best.
1.freeware
2.very easy - i donno how can any regeditor be easier than that..
3.has all the features required
I dont know why, but some entries of programms dont let delete them. In my case these app was uninstalled, but left some registry folders.
Totalcommander was able to uninstal it nearly totally.
Does someone know if its possible to protect the registry entries of your app?

Something to do before using X1

Dear all,
I finally get the X1 on hand. (I have waited it for 1 year). Expect charging the battery. Any Tweak, Program, Settings and others should be done on X1 first? Please advise. Thanks!
get the latest fw before you start installing stuff
xperia tweak (clifford)
spb panel will be in the fw
get yourself a registry editor (resco, SDK tools)
with regards to apps its down to choice and $$$, i dont think anyone uses all the apps from this forum, youtube is a good one though.
Read all the stickies! They will prepare you for the journey ahead.
also read the XDA-WIki entry for x1
Get the following apps if you can afford it or if you're smart and unscrupulous enough to find a keygen/crack:
-RESCO Explorer: Best file explorer incl. Registry Editor and FTP Support
-SPB PocketPlus: Neat tool for the home screen, unless you prefer to use SPB MobileShell
-Garmin Mobile XT or TomTom 7 (The latter is *ONLY* illegally available at this time): Onboard navigation software
-Panoramic Calc Pro: Best calculator
-Spb Wireless Monitor: To monitor your traffic
-Spb Insight: RSS feed reader, very good. You can use the built-in reader of SE panel, though.
-Spb Finance: Manage your accounts
-Spb Keyboard: Screenkeyboard so you don't always have to slide the phone open
-Inesoft Phone: Dialer/Contacts/Etc, more professional than the built-in
Notice you can fully try all Spb Software for 2 weeks to see if you like it.
The following are free:
-Advanced Config: Tweak everything
-Notepad 1.5: Notepad as on Windows, fast & useful
-G-Watch: Stopwatch (There is no default)
-SmsImport: Easily import & export text messages to/from XML file
-Startmenu.exe: Opens/Closes Startmenu. Needed to assign a softkey to open/close the startmenu which I think is the best thing you can do.
-HTC Touch HD Videoconverter: BEST video converter for X1i. USE THIS ONE, IT'S THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL PRODUCE GOOD RESULTS!
You may also want to install a couple of games.
Anyone know the sound issue? Has it been solve?
Dear all,
I know it may be a stupid question. But I have use it for 3 hrs for search. I have installed Resco Explorer. But I don't know how to find the Registry file. Please help. Thanks!

It should be in the Programs-Folder of the STartmenu. It's called "Resco Registry" You could also tap the Star in Resco Explorer in the top left corner and it should show you a list containing "My Registry". If that is not the case, you have no installed the addon. I think you're prompted for this during installation, I don't fully remember.
EDIT: Checked it out. With PC installer you should be prompted. CAB Installers are separate files. You can download them here: http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/downloads.asp

What Registry and File Editor to use on the HTC HD2

Hi there,
sorry to ask this simple question to you pros here, but can someone please post a link on what Registry and File Editor to use on the HTC HD2?
Thanks in advance
Cheers
I have Soti Pocket Controller, so I use the one that's included with that. It's a lot easier to do it from a PC screen and you're less likely to make any mistakes.
Thanks for the swift reply, so you are not using some software on the device itself but on the PC.
Are you using this version: http://www.soti.net/default.asp?Cmd=Products&SubCmd=PCPro
?
Cheers
P.S. If I wanted to use soemthing on the device itself, what do you recommend?
I love Resco Explorer, it is a very very good file manager and has an equally good registy editor included.
otherwise, the free total commander does a good job, too, but is not really finger friendly.

I have Resco Explorer which apparently has a good Registry editor, but I've never used it TBH. I'm sure other guys here are better placed to recommend a good registry editor to use directly on the phone.

I used 2008 and now for testing 2010. Both works good
File explorer
What sort of files are you planning on editing?
As a file explorer, I found a very useful extension called fexploreext which is not a swiss army knife, but a single blade pocket knife. Very useful, and simple.
For the registry, I use a desktop editor called CeRegEditor free from from mdsoft.pl
On the device, PHM is good.

Yes that's the one. Without wishing to sidetrack thsi thread I use Pocket Controller to type long messages, texts or emails on my phone using my PC or laptop. It's much easier & quicker than typing directly on the phone and with the HD there's absolutely no lag.
I am using Resco Explorer 2010 (BETA) and love it. The interface isn't any different from previous version, which is fine as they had a touch interface that worked perfectly on HD2 already.

Hi there,
I was looking into modding my HD2 with the Mods featured on this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
Thus I assumed I will need both programs, right?
Cheers and thanks all for your replies!
I would like to try Total Commander 2.52 beta, but cant figure out which cab to download, do i need all 4? Please help a nOOb...
http://tcce.s3.amazonaws.com/b2/cabs.htm
Got it (arm.cab), just had to read...hehe

Find where you have saved the cab file using file manager and tap on the cab to install. Let it install and then it should then appear in your start menu. Cabs are to windows mobile what setup.exe is to desktop windows.
Many thanks Wizzzard. So far so good. I'm guessing that most .CAB's should be installed on the device and not on the Storage card? I've just installed Total Commander and now just need to figure out how it works etc and start looking in the Hints and Tips section.

Same here. However, I also have the freeware 'PHM Regedit' installed on my HD2 for emergency alterations when on the move. It works quite well with fingers.
As for file editors you simply cannot beat Resco Explorer. It's the best file explorer/editor on Windows Mobile but unfortunately isn't free.
For anyone not using activesync and wanting to try the resco 2010 beta, you can just open the installer with winrar and itll show u the cabs, copy to phone and install.
9/10, nice, but i expected more change since previous resco explorer & plugins, then again its still beta so more change may come

Registry editor for HDMINI

I need registry editor compatible with HDMINI, please help me
Hi, I am no expert and maybe there are better apps- but this one is free and it does the job for me. Hope this helps
http://phm-regedit.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
Total commander

Use the beta version for WM 6.5
Resco Explorer 2010 . The best!
I use Schap's Registry Editor. Free, simple and light, you don't need a 3mb software with fancy graphics to edit the registry
If you are happy doing it from your PC then CeRegeditor does it for me.
