Outlook Meeting Requests and the Blackberry - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Just wondering if anyone can help me with Outlook meeting requests... our blackberry users gets a message saying "Unsupported Media Type in Header" when someone sends them a meeting request from Outlook.
Thanks.

If I remember right, the Blackberry client at the moment doesn't handle meeting requests. That's due in the next version.
I believe for meetings, you need to dock and sync your calendar with your PC.

Thanks for your reply D-O-H. =)

Attendee alerts for calender appointments ??? HELP!

I have added the attendee that is coming to the meeting and its supposed to send a message about it right.
But when I go to messages and send recieve messages...
The email that the person is recieving just has the title for the subject with no times and dates, is this right?
afaik meeting request work on outlook to outlook only [i.e. outlook on a ppc and outlook on the desktop] a quick workaround is to add the details under note tab. that way when the email is sent to a non outlook based account [i.e. yahoo or google email] the details can be seen as text.
why does it have an option to send requests through hotmail then ?
only certain clients support appointment requests then obviously...so this would be a feature of pOutlook or derivative products. I admit it would be nice, a must if you're in a company like mine that use it (although not very much).

Yet another ? --- Outlook

Well I had to come out of the lurking shadows, so I might as well go ahead and get the rest of my questions out.....
In our office network, I am able to specify that person xxxx can add items to my Outlook calendar, tasks, etc. It appears that these are implemented through a email-based VCARD capability.
Is there a way to send outlook meeting requests and task reqests from the WM05 Pocket PC?
thanks...BriansPhone

Flex Mail 2007 vs standard windows mobile messaging system

I've tested out flex mail and can say that it's pretty good. I think the only thing which really stood out to me was the ability to choose which account you wish to reply to an e-mail through.
Explained: You have your activesync account which you use to sync your outlook e-mails with your PPC. But when you are on the road and want to check your mail you have an additional mail account called "Work", which allows you to send and receive your e-mails while you are out and about.
Now in the morning you download all your e-mails on your computer and sync your PPC, and while on the train you realize that there is a really important e-mail you want to forward on to someone, or reply to. Unfortunately with WM5, you couldn't do this, you would have to copy and paste or do something else. With FlexMail you can get a txt and forward it to an e-mail address, use an e-mail you sync via outlook and forward it on when your on the road.
The interface is a bit better also. If i was you i would download it and give it a try, it doesn't change any of your settings and you can just uninstall it if you don't like it.

when you use push mail, can you get flexmail to show emails in html format?

Best way for e-mails?

I'm just asking for everyone's opinions please.
At the moment I'm using a GMail account, where I forward all of my mail to mail2web and that in turn gets sent to my Hermes and on my PC I'm using Microsoft Outlook, so if I receive an e-mail it get's read three times. Now I like my GMail interface and I was wondering if there was anyway at all that I could simplify this so that if I open the mail once, it's shown as being read over them all?
I don't mind having to drop GMail if need be, but my main annoyance is reading an e-mail on my Hermes and then having to click it as read in Outlook on my PC.
Use Gmail if you want.
Download your Gmail to your PC with Outlook and use EMOZE to push your Outlook mail into your Hermes.
This way if you write and Email with your Hermes and send it gets in your Outlook Sent Items folder and if you erase an Email using your Hermes it gets erased in your Outlook.
Unfortunately I don't keep my PC on 24/7 when I'm away from it. I've just found an Applet by Google (found at http://googlemail.com/app from your PDA), the only problem is that it doesn't refresh itself and it doesn't notify on new mail. If anyone knows how I can arrange it so it does then I'd love your assistance.

Email on Nexus One

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here we go.
My company uses Groupwise as their email system. Furthermore they refuse to enable POP or IMAP. We do have a BES server for Blackberry's and some mobile solution using Intellisync for WinMo devices.
The only solution so far (A horrible one at that) is to just forward all emails to my gmail account and my Nexus One can see them all.
Two problems.
1. They all come from me so I have to open every single email to see who it is from and what it is about.
2. I can not reply because it just replies to my Groupwise account (The account that forwarded the email).
I have been searching for days as to how I can accomplish this task. I am willing to dedicate a computer in my house that can poll Groupwise and IMAP that information to gmail if that is possible.
If anyone has any ideas, I would be very very appreciative. I will go to almost any means to get this done. I do not even understand my IT department. they said it is ok to forward all my emails, so why not open IMAP? Thanks in advance.

i once worked for a company that had similar email policies using Exchange. so, i signed up for @ $7/month Exchange account with 1 and 1 where i could manage email as if it came from my company account. since my former employer allowed email forwarding, i'd forward to my 1 and 1 account and use a feature that allowed my replies to appear as if they came from my company account. i'm not sure how it would work with Groupwise. oh yeah, i used my travel per diem to cover the monthly expense!
I know this most likely wont be much help but I use lotus notes for example and I have a similar issue where I can't just directly access the account via IMAP or POP. Instead the LN client lets me setup a rule that resides on the server side that forwards the emails to my Gmail account. This has the benefit of preserving the sender (instead of your email address) and when I reply it will go back to the entire distribution list. The only drawback is that it still replies using your gmail credentials which may be bad if this is company mail.
So the rule has to be applied to the emails before they post in your account otherwise you get what you are already using which is forwarded notes from your inbox which will have your name as sender each time. Some rules will say :"When email arrives" then "Forward entire message body to:"...

Is GroupWise accessible from Exchange?
I don't understand; is there some other mail technology that is not POP, IMAP, or Exchange?
Yea that's my problem, Groupwise only has (on the client at least) "When email arrives". I am seriously hating this....

Can you use Intellisync to sync with Outlook on your work PC and sync that with the N1?
Just to be clear, I can set up an auto forward rule in Groupwise to forward all mail to my gmail account. The problem is all the emails in the gmail account have a from "my groupwise account". Then if I try to reply to that email, it reply's To "my groupwise account". So technically I just have a huge annoyance issue I am trying to resolve here.
Here is what I have so far, but I do not know if it is even helping...
I found a Groupwise Connector for Outlook. This allows a dedicated computer at home the ability to have all of my Groupwise mail. Now that I have this dedicated computer set up that has all my emails in real time. I need some way of syncing them to Gmail. I have CompanionLink, but this just syncs my calendar, contacts and tasks... No email.
