Hello.
Does anybody know if SonyEricsson's headsets works with the Magician? The connector fits, but are the electronics compatible? I mean:
* Are the headphones wired the same way?
* Is the microphone wired the same way?
* Does the answer button work?
// Anders
My Sony P800 headsets work perfectly with my i-mate Jam, they have exactly the same wiring.
Als so heard that the SE P900 headsets work with the i-mate JAM. I can't confirm it myself.
I will keep this in mind, a good headset is always welcome !! ;o)
Kind regards,
R.
Sales person who I spoke with refered me to the SE Akino (somehting like that) over the Jabra.
He said that there is less noise and interference between a SE Headset and the Jam.
im using akono hbh-600 with my mdac without any problems.

HBH-660, with caller id
Working well for BT headset, caller id is not perfect on my XDA mini.
Best regards,

My Sony P900 headsets work without problem with jam
Thanks a lot everyone!
The cable of the SE-headset seems to be developed with cold weather in mind. The HTC-headset cable freezes and gets stiff as a stick when temperature drops below 5 degrees celsius.
With a Sony MDR EX51 modded SE-headset i'm sure I will be completely satisfied!

My P900 headset works perfectly with my jam all the functions above works smoothly ... 8)
Is there a reason to use this one over standard one?
Is the sound quality better on the P-900 headsets? Is it worth switching?
it is not only the sound, I find the earbuds with the "default" handset just a tad too big for my ears...
Blue Angel
This is interesting, has anyone tried the same trick and used Sony Ericsson 2.5mm hedset on a Blue Angel device, the cheap pair that came with it are unuseable with dreadfully low mic gain, however my old P800 ser were great

Hi,
I have one HBH-600 SONY ERICSSON and paired OK with imate jam
but could not make it the default hands free.
What BT-STACK are You using?
thanks
Hi all,
I have Qtek s100 since exactly 2 years. I am very happy and even after relasing so many HTC PDA phones after that, I really did not think of changing my phone. Now I see P3600 as probable candidate to replace my S100. But in addition to size and processor, I would also be looking at some key features as justification to change. I am not going to use 3G or 2MP camera. so, lets narrow down to Free/very cheap phone function on this phone.
- anybody tried to install Skype client to make audio calls on wifi connection?
- Also anybody checked function of SIP voip client like SJPhone again using wifi?
If these features are going to have problem with.. I would still stay back with S100 happily.
AS
Skype works fine on it and I run VoIPSurfer for SIP without any problems!
Anyone can get skype sound to come trough the phone speaker instead of the loudspeaker? (I think it is a software limitation, but is there a workarround?)

This is only available on the Eten X500. I finally decided to get this instead of the Trinity coz I dun use the 3G and the GPS is a lot better on the X500.

It is a limitation in Skype. Try using a headset. Not BT though, since the processor can't handle both Skype and BT headset at the same time..
With my LOOX 720, we also have a "large" speaker (badly positioned even if you wanted to ignore that it is a loudspeaker and put it in your ear) and a small "phone" speaker (placed correctly where you would put your ear), although FSC never released any VoIP app for the device (and LOOX is not a phone).
Skype (and other VoIP apps) worked as you say. Audio was coming out of the main speaker, plus they (Skype) ignored our requests to use the correct speaker (or didn't know what to do about it).
Then some guys noticed that the small speaker was ALWAYS outputing audio (in apps/games etc.), but since it is a small phone speaker, you have to put your ear on to hear it. Also this gives more "depth" in 720 audio (since the tiny speaker does its part). Anyway, that was an interesting discovery because it led to research that gave something more important:
A simple registry entry could shut-off the main speaker while keeping the phone speaker working! No need for soft reset or anything! Some even made a little program for this (which also keeps different volume levels for when on and off since eg. I want volume=2 when loudspeaker is on and volume=4 when only ear speaker is on). Toggle it whenever we want (I have a shortcut in my today screen for it).
So I am thinking... look for something like that in Trinity also? It should even be simpler because I am sure Trinity has pretty clear and distinct volume values for both speakers (since this IS a phone after all).
Maybe a shortcut to a registry key could allow to control the speaker volume... like in the loox. I'll try to search registry... Anyway, this is a known issue for skype, so probably they will be working on that on future releases, maybe it needs customization for every particular model. _http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=71698
Skype and Bluetooth
I use a stereo BT headset and it works great (iTech clip S38). I used another program to toggle, but battery life went to a couple of hours, even when not in use. If you Skype a lot, or even once on an international trip, the cost is well justified.

It is possible now with the last final (not beta) version of Skype (2.2.20 or something like that).
The problem is, this final version doesn't work for all phones. You can see the list of supported devices on Skype download page.
The Trinity is not supported on this final version. You can only use chat function, and when you place a voice call, the application automatically shut down.
That's why we keep running the previous beta versions, which work fine, but the sound come from the back speaker
I tried this final version on my wizard, and I confirm that the sound does come from the ear-piece, for the first time in skype history. But strangely enough, this 'new' skype is only compatible with 'old' phones...
The text found below was sent to Skype by me today
Dear Skype,
#1 please sent me a list of supported Pocket PC’s that work with skype and with a Bluetooth A2dp Headset.
The one I have now can be found at: http://www.jabra.com/Sites/Jabra/NA-US/products/Pages/JabraBT8040.aspx and I works really well for windows media mobile.
#2 I currently have the following device which does not work with Skype for the Pocket PC with an A2dp headset. I am very upset about this; I really want to use your skype out service, but cant.
My Device Information: Unlocked
HTC P3600, Trinity
ROM version: 1.23.405.2
ROM date: 03/11/07
Radio Version 1.38.00.11
Protocol Version: 32.71.7020.12h
ExtROM Version: 1.23.405.103
I have installed the following versions of Skype for PPC
SkypeForPocketPC-2.0.0.51-LowCPU.cab
SkypeForPocketPC-2.0.0.51-LowCPU.cab
SkypeForPocketPC-2.2.0.18-Beta.cab
kypeForPocketPC-2.2.0.20-Beta.exe
SkypeForPocketPCNew.CAB
The only one that works is the SkypeForPocketPC-2.2.0.18-Beta.cab it works perfectly for the HTC P3600, Trinity however, "only" when you use the corded headset that attaches to the mini usb on the phone, or just the speaker that is on the back of the phone the “external speaker”.
the SkypeForPocketPC-2.2.0.18-Beta.cab, I feel, does not work with any A2DP Bluetooth headset.
I have tried the following A2DP Bluetooth headsets
JabraBt8040
Link: same as above
Plantronics Voyager 855 Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Lubix UBHS-NC1 Stereo Bluetooth Headset
I think something goes wrong when the Bluetooth stack tries transfer the Skype audio to the Bluetooth headsets it gets all messed up with lots of echoes and sound disconnects and, latency and so on. However playing any multimedia files on the phone work perfectly through my A2DP Bluetooth headset.
Like a said SkypeForPocketPC-2.2.0.18-Beta.cab works perfectly only when you use the corded headset that attaches to the mini usb on the phone, or just the speaker that is on the back of the phone the “external speaker”.
I have also tried to use a whole bunch of 3rd party applications that redirected the sound to my older mono headsets. I tried three of them, and that did not work either. It’s something when the speaker sound gets transferd to any BT device.
(((((( Update I just used the the btaudio.zip that qyach posted: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289720
it works but the mono sound is still not very good, nothing like a mobile phone call sound, and no ware near the sound quality with the corded headset that came with the HTC P3600 What to do,, anyone?
Im thinking of getting a ETEN X800 http://www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com/welcome/cart.php?target=product&product_id=1128&category_id=40
I read that It works well with Skype, and the sound is sent to the phones earpiece after installing a piece of software that ETEN developed called Skype Switch, therefore it should work with a BT headset.
http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:cwIdCCuH2LEJ:www.etenblog.com/2007/11/13/getting-skype-to-work-as-it-should/+skype+Switch+program&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us
But now some sales man who sounded like he know what he was talking about, said that the ETEN phones are flaky and that 70% of the ETEN phones that he sells get returned.
I don’t know what to do, but, dam it I want a WM5 or WM6 Phone that works perfect with Skype sound BT and all.
Now the only problem is how much better or worse is HTC V.S. ETEN? I really am looking for a cool looking phone something small and sleek that will work perfect with Skype mobile. The ETEN X800 looked like it was the solution. But now I don’t know what to do.
Someone please help.
Update: 02/16/08
I Just got an ETEN x800 and istalled the Skype Switch and took skype for a test run ,, ya,ya, the sound gets redirected to the earpiece,,, ya, but it sonds like sh_t also..
Someone out there has to be able to Hack this mess.
DTMF ,Fring, PPC Skype, And A2DP.
For the Skype sound problem not going through the BT headset someone on this site suggested using fring which is a fantastic idea, however it’s always something... with fring you can place a Skype out call but during the call you can’t navigate company’s phone menu during the call like, “press 1 for billing” “press 2 for sales”. There isn’t even a dial pad. When I contacted there support department I got this:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting our support team.
Currently, it is not available to dial DTMF sounds on fring, this should be implemented in future versions. You can stay up to date on new releases from our blog http://www.fring.com/blog/
In other words, I’m not holding my breath.
Is there a way to transmit a DTMF signal to the input of a Bluetooth A2DP headset? I don’t mean literally, just a sound redirect, in other words trick it into thinking it’s me making the DTMF sound.
I can’t find anything on the net except for Dial-a-matic, which will not work. I also took a look at Pocket Dialer v1.03 but there is no way to redirect sound. I also thought that maybe Kai’s ContactDialer would work but I don’t think it does, or I don’t understand how to use it and get it to work.
I also wonder if all of these problems are salved on WM6 I was looking at upgrading to the new HTC P3470 but the processor is slower than the p3600.
God,, do I want to get rid of that stupid weird mini HTC usb headset, ridicules for a $700 phone.
I wouldn’t need to go through all this if Skype would just finally fix their PPC version to work with a Bluetooth headset.

ive searched for ck-7w in the hermes section but finds nothing? surely others must use this handsfree kit?
Well my issues, my hermes wont find it when searching for bluetooth devises? Never had any issues with my wizzard?
ive tryed a few different wm6 roms, now on the black.
Is there a cab somewhere to fix this, as i cant, use this phone until i get it sorted with my car kit
Hi fil,
I can't speak to WM6 but my 7W works well (usually) with my 8525 WM5 ATT Upgrade Rom. I remapped the ptt button to activate the built-in voice dialing. Sometimes the system announces the name throught the 7w speaker, other time via the 8525 speaker. Who knows why?
The quality of the recognition software is fair. I am planning on re-recording some of the voice tags in the car via the 7w mic. I have a feeling this will result in greater accuracy. It has to do the the acoustics where the tags are recorded.
My BT settings in the 8525 are
Mode = Turn on BT and Make device visable
Devices = add new device, if it finds it, click on Nokia CK-7w & check off Hands Free, at the bottom of the screen hit Save
BTW, the 7w data cable 5 volt lead does not have enough balls to charge the 8525.
Let me know if you get WM6 working with the 7w.
Lyle
You've already tried to reset the CK-7W ?
Especially when your Nokia Carkit has an other mobile paired in his memory (an old one for example) it won't pair the Tytn.
Worked for me (reset CK-7W).
After that my carkit works fine with yhe Tytn but has proplems if I wan't to pair a second (Symbian) phone.
alylea, my tytn wont even find it, when searching, have ticked the make seeable to othe devices, the method you discribe works perfectly as said on my wizard
davw, reset the ck-7w how?
tho the ck-7w can do up to 7 phones in its memory i belive, had no issues with a wizard and 2 different nokia all paired on it allready?

again how'd you reset it? dont have the manual
still aint working, see unable to see the kit!???
anyone?
right its working now?, done nothing different?
was sitting in my car thismorning doing a bluetooth search for my new stereo headset i picked up from the PO on my way to work, it found it and the carkit , and paired with both!
well problem solved, but **** knows how ???
No idea what did the trick but here is the Nokia Europe site for the manual.

So iGuidance voice instructions do not come out of the CK-7W speaker not do the voice dialing confirmation names, although basic HF function works. I'm testing an inexpensive application that routes all audio from the 8525 to the BT output. I'll let you know if it works.
Just got hold of a Universal to tide me over while I wait for the Kaiser/Vario 3 as I dropped my Vario I last week :-(
Question: Voice Command Worked fine on my Vario I for ages - I'm now trying to get this working on the Universal but whenever I press the activate button it kicks in fine but whatever I say I can hear through the earpiece (but the Universal can't) - almost like the mic is being fed directly to the speaker. Jabra BT250V.
My father-in-law had this phone before me and he had the same problem when trying to talk using BT (normal use, not Voice Command) - is it this/Jabra headset(s) or a prob with the Universal?
Using KDSKamal WM6 now (great, thanks!) - previous problems on original O2 WM5 so it makes me think that the problem is with the hardware but I'm open to suggestions!
Thanks
Aaron
Hi guys,
I've been scouring the web for a number of days now with no success. Was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same problem and if anyone knows if this can be fixed.
I have a HTC P3600i, with ROM 3.00.707.18 (latest ENG ROM I could find) and have been using a Jabra BT8010 (firmware 1.33) for some months with no problems on A2DP or Handsfree (even switching back and forth is ok).
Have just got myself a new Dell BH200 stereo BT headset (for better bass) and while A2DP is working pretty fine (very nice), I'm finding that I can't use the headset for incoming or outgoing calls at all.
Everytime I try doing calls, the headset icon on the phone screen disappears after 5 or so seconds, and the headset itself switches off right after.
Am hoping someone can point me to the right direction, thanks..
Well two years later
I own a Dopod C730 and lo and behold I bought a Dell BH200 and I have the exact problem descibed above. I have the latest rom and I have tried reseting the smartphone all for naught.
Well I hope someone has figured this one out at some point or else I am going to be disappointed in my new Christmas gift
Well, I gave up and sold off my BH200 already. Am back to using the Jabra BT8010.
same problem here with my HTC Touch (3452). It's really frustrating to have to remove the headset every time u have to take a call. did anyone fimd a solution to this?

I am not using touch. Mine is Asus P535. WM6
Do double pairing. 2 diffrent mode
1) Hi Fi Stereo
2) Hands free
Music would mute when the call is recieved. When you end the call the music comes back.

This didn't work for me at all, on my HTC P3600i with the Dell BH200 headset. Pairing was ok, but as soon as there was an incoming call, the Dell headset would ring, and then silence.. I'd also notice that the headset icon on my phone would disappear and the headset itself would turn off.
My Jabra BT8010 headset, on the other hand, paired just fine as both handsfree and wireless stereo device. In fact, I've ditched the BH200 and am using the BT8010 till now.
Well how come i aint see this thread . Ok now BH200 works fine and it has no issues ( as you guys should understand if it works with ASUS , NOKIA , SAMSUNG phone ).The problem is HTC's coding . It doesnt support AVRPS, thats the service which is necesary for Phone to switch to calls when received and switch back to music. Now jabra uses a different technology ... But you will have to compramise on the quality of music in BH200
( its awesome ) and more over it looks like a music head set any ways .
damn! is there any workaround? or is AVRPS hardware specific? after A2DP and AVRCP, no we have another acronym to add to the lexicon
Same problem here, tested BH200 with Universal WM6 and Touch HD, headphones switch off seemingly when they receive handsfree request.
Tested them with WM5, lo and behold, it worked. Now I wonder - how come that they work with WM5 BT stack and not with WM6? Any ideas?
Well, from what I gather, at least the good news is that AVRPS is not hardware-specific... so there should be a suitable workaround to this problem for anyone using WM6.
I bought my pair of Dell BH-200 headphones yesterday and while I'm absolutely thrilled by the perfect (at this price) sound quality when playing music, I'm rather annoyed by the fact that I have to take off my headphones every time I want to receive a call. After all, that's what a headset is for, right!?
In any case, here are the specs of my phone:
HTC Touch Elfin P3452, running an up-to-date Windows Mobile 6.1 (Onyx ROM)
I'm considering upgrading to Windows Mobile 6.5 these days to see if that would do the trick... has anyone of you guys tried the Dell headphones' headset compatibility when running WM 6.5? Going back to WM5 is definitely not a option, since I didn't quite enjoy the looks & ergonomics of that OS...
P.S.: Upgrading to WM 6.5 didn't do the trick, unfortunately So I'm pretty much stuck and I don't want to return the headphones since I really enjoy them, of course once I ignore how they don't actually function as a proper headset... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I just found this fix for the situation:
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/...s/thread/368efd50-ce24-453a-a31c-e6747c698082
Try setting the registry value:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\UseESCO = DWORD:0

The best part is, it seems to be actually working (I'm with Touch HD with Win 6.1).
