Does SonyEricsson headset work with Magician? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hello.
Does anybody know if SonyEricsson's headsets works with the Magician? The connector fits, but are the electronics compatible? I mean:
* Are the headphones wired the same way?
* Is the microphone wired the same way?
* Does the answer button work?
// Anders

My Sony P800 headsets work perfectly with my i-mate Jam, they have exactly the same wiring.

Als so heard that the SE P900 headsets work with the i-mate JAM. I can't confirm it myself.
I will keep this in mind, a good headset is always welcome !! ;o)
Kind regards,
R.

Sales person who I spoke with refered me to the SE Akino (somehting like that) over the Jabra.
He said that there is less noise and interference between a SE Headset and the Jam.

im using akono hbh-600 with my mdac without any problems.

quappo

HBH-660, with caller id
Working well for BT headset, caller id is not perfect on my XDA mini.

My Sony P900 headsets work without problem with jam

Thanks a lot everyone!
The cable of the SE-headset seems to be developed with cold weather in mind. The HTC-headset cable freezes and gets stiff as a stick when temperature drops below 5 degrees celsius.
With a Sony MDR EX51 modded SE-headset i'm sure I will be completely satisfied!

My P900 headset works perfectly with my jam all the functions above works smoothly ... 8)

Is there a reason to use this one over standard one?
Is the sound quality better on the P-900 headsets? Is it worth switching?

it is not only the sound, I find the earbuds with the "default" handset just a tad too big for my ears...

Blue Angel
This is interesting, has anyone tried the same trick and used Sony Ericsson 2.5mm hedset on a Blue Angel device, the cheap pair that came with it are unuseable with dreadfully low mic gain, however my old P800 ser were great

Your Bluetooth Headset?

Ok guys and Gals, I need a Bluetooth Headset, as my Cellink doesn't seem to work.
Any recommendations or a list of BT headsets that are being used by you all
TIA
tt 5 seams run ok even with o2 active installed hasnt crashed yet
I have a bluespoon AX which is very, very small, and makes me look less of a tit than using other large headsets or the Universal itself.
Thanks for the replies, I've also sent an email to cellink regarding this issue. If I get a reply I'll post it here.
Ok finally after a bit of a wait I have a reply from Cellink. they say it should be able to work, and since my last attempt I have got it to be recognised.
Unfortunately when the xda rings I can only hear very faint sounds coming from the headset, I've tried the volume controls on the headset and on the xda.
Maybe I'm missing something! anyone care to comment?
I've got a Motorola HS-850 and it works really well. I especially like being able to just close the fold-in mic boom and it switching the headset off completely. Can last well over a week without needing to be charged.
Cheers,
Smiff.
I have a Jabra BT800, so i can see number of incoming callers without open my JASJAR.
Have Fun
Hi all does anyone know if the xda exec supports Audio Gateway Profiles?

Are you saying that you can read the number displayed whilst the BT800 is on your ear? I tried holding a watch up in that position but couldn't read the dial at all - so went for the new thin Jabra BT500. Perhaps its just my tired old eyes.
I'd like to see a picture of that lol  my eyes are aching just thinking about it

That's just what I thought. I couldn't see the point of having a display on the headset if I could only read the display before putting on the headset. Takes much longer to put on the headset, than it does to open the phone or lift the phone to your ear. And what would be the point of the display whilst you're driving?
There's another model, Sony or Motorola (?), that has a display on the outside of the headset - Just so that you can tell everyone around you who has phoned you. Duh! Seems even more pointless to me.
Will be the best... i suppose....

I use my old SE HBH 200 handsfree and so far everything is well. I use it cos the LCD display is not near my ear so I can see it very fast. http://www.infosyncworld.com/reviews/n/5488.html

oki doki, but to what extent functionality of BT 800 is for real ?
1. does it give you just the number, no matter, whether the contact IS IN the contact book already ? or it gives you the name instead of number ? assuming it is for already stored contact ...
2. what is the roughly distance between Exec and BT800 allowing for smooth operation and without strange noises ?
I am looking for good and fully functional BT headset for my Exec but as far as I am concerned there is a problem on BT800 with a/m functionalities
regards
I have a Sony Ericson HBH 662, and it works fine.
does anybody knows a BT headset that use the same mini USB of Universal for charging?

Bluetooth Stereo Headset.

Is it possible to get stereo over bluetooth? And which headset should i buy if so?
Thanks
Hi q-big,
Sorry no stereo yet on the K-Jam using a Stereo headset (bluetooth).
I use a Motorolla Bluetooth Stereo headset but the A2DP profile is not supported yet by the K-Jam. There will be an ROM upgrade coming beginning next year including this profile so not yet!
You can use mono for the headset using a tiny switch program somebody on the forum made. Then all sound will be sent to your headset in mono. It is not super but I've been enjoying it since!
Wouter
q-biG = q-biq ;P..
thanks for the answer. then i think i'm gonna wait for the upgrade, mono sucks
Hello,
Maybe you could try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33532
It does work for Magician and seems that a Universal owner also installed it sucessfully.
Cheers

I tried, but it does not work with my Dopod 838, aka HTC wizzard. Seems to be the restriction of WM5 and need to wait for the update from MS. Maybe you can check this post PREVIEW: Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 2 Bluetooth A2DP Profile for reference.

i just bought o2blue and very interesting when riding motorcycle with a cool mp3 songs.....but till now I still cant off it...dont know how....waaaaaaaa
motorol have a new stereo bluetooth headset, i bought it but brought it back to the shop as it was far to big, not only that bu the design also hurts your ears after a while. I've personally alway been after a stereo bluetooth headset bu all the ones i have tried in the past (yes sony did make one years ago) i've found to be bad in performance

Jabra BT500 and Qtek 9000, XDA Exec, M5000 etc....

So I have been reading many many posts about bluetooth static while on a call and the phone being very close to the headset. I have similar problems with my PDA2k.
I also carry a blackberry 7105t and the bluetooth is flawless and very clear.
With the new release of Qtek AKU2 ROM 1.30.77 1.30.176 1.09.00 WWE
Which Radio version is best for the USA and T-Mobile?
Does the Radio have "anything" to do with the Bluetooth clarity (static in the earpiece between the xda and the bt500)?
I am on the phone ALL DAY and can not hold any phone to my head so I need my bt500 to work well with whatever i buy and so this is the last thing i need to clear up before i make the purchase. Any help is appreciated. FISH
Anyone?
Seriously no one uses the Jabra bt500 - it is an AWESOME headset. You could play any sport with it in and it wont fall out and the clarity is perfect - WITH THE RIGHT PHONE.
Please someone chime in here........
FISH
The BT 500 is one of the best headsets out there, if you are getting static try re-pairing your headset.
Jabra official support will tell you that the phone should be on the same side as the headset.
If it's too bad I would try to have Jabra swap it out under warranty.
How can i repair?¿?
Thanks
You can't repair you can try to delete the partnership and then pair it again.
thanks, but it´s solved the stactic ?¿?
Regards

Which Stereo Bluetooth Headset to buy?

Hi,
I want to buy Stereo Bluetooth Headset. I have read not all of them are compatible with all phones. I am considering getting either Samsung SBH100, Plantronics Pulsar 590a or Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970. I want to know if anyone has used these with Magician and what their experience is? My priority is for HBH-DS970 as I have read on this forum some users have been able to get the LCD to display contact name using JETware Mobile Software rather then number.
Which other decent Stereo Headset are compatible with Magician?
Thanks!
I use motorola HT820 and sound great

I have the iTech R35 and it works brilliantly with the Magician (provided you use the bluetooth stack update in the other thread).
It doesn't have a LCD screen, but you can use whatever earphones you like as it has a 3.5" jack.
i'm use HT820 and great sound and working all buttons

Bluetooth Headset that works with Exec?

This is my first post on this great fourm... guess that makes me a noob. lol
I have the O2 xda exec
rom:1.30.107wwe 4-11-06,
radio:1.09.00,
extrom:1.30.162wwe
SPB pocket Plus
Pocket Mec.
Opera
I have tried the Samsung Wep200, and the Jabra JX10...
Both headsets cut out and crackle if the Exec is in my pocket (same side)
or if im moving around holding the phone in my hand...
the only time they are usable is in the car with the phone still in the center console/
Anyone having any luck with bluetooth and the Exec in real world application?
Or is it inherent in the headsets I have tried? (tiny ones)
IF so, what headsets are working with good conectivity?
I dont need to leave my phone 30 feet away and walk around, but I want to be able to leave the exec in my pocket and use BT///
Also, are any BT headsets working with WM5's voice dialer? neither or the two I mentioned would///?
Thanks,
DJ Hurricane

How about the Stereo Bt Headsets? (Moto HT820, Bluant, Spider)
I read the Spider has an extended range... Maby atleast a stable connection/
Any direction appreciated

The Pulsar 590A works OK as a phone headset with the Uni.
Note that you won't enjoy the A2DP sound "quality" of the MS BT stack with the 590A.
Seems big to lug for just a phone headset...
