I just installed Windows Mobile 6 Crossbow Underground on my Wizard G4 (Cingular 8125).
When receiving incoming calls, it is NOT showing any Caller ID information (name & number).
When the my phone rings, a dialgue box opens that simply shows... "INCOMING CALL"
Usually, it shows the number. And in instances when the number is in my contact list, it also show the Name.
AFTER answering the call, I can see the Caller ID info (name & number) on the phone screen.
I tried to do un update to the Radio, and NOW my phone doesn't ring at all!!! HELP!!! What files / tools do I need to update the radio on this G4 device??
WHAT could be causing this? How do I fix it so that when the my phone rings, it actually shows the Caller ID info in the dialogue box that opens?
UPDATE: I finally found a G4 Utility and was able to update the Radio to 02.61.11 ...lets see if that helps!
I have the same problem (caller info not displaying), but on Universal device...
Have you solved that problem?
Hello,
I have a cingular 8125 and when I get a call, I get the caller ID number (If I have the number in my phone book, the phone will display the caller name as it shows in my Phone book).
I also have a Sony Ericsson Z520a and when I put my SIM in it, I also see the Caller name when I get a call (the infoemation is sent by the operator) enven If I don't have the caller in my phonebook.
The operator is F!d0, they do send to caller's number and name. I am just wondering if anybody has the same service and is able to get it on the Wizard 100.
I never got the name to be displayed on the wizard either when it had the original Cingular WM5 roms or with the TNT WM 6.1 roms.
Thanks
this is a really good question i hope someone will be able to give u some answers
I have a small problem: my phone doesn't recognize all numbers from my contacts when I receive phonecalls or sms-messages!
Does somebody know what the problem may be? With advanced configuration tool I've allready set call ID match to 14 number of trailing digits for call ID matches...
Solution
Solution: set back to 8 digits (default > for The Netherlands anyway). Now no problems with caller ID.
(strangely I had to set my XDA orbit to 12 digits to have proper caller ID?! Anyway, problem fixed)
I think i saw a program here wich was able to work as a DTMF dialer, but i´m not shure.
I need a program wich can generate the dtmf-tones from my outlook contacs and add some special number in front of them.
My problem: here at work we only have dect-phones with a storage for 20 numbers. I have all numbers im my private phone so i´d like to have my private phone make my work phone dial the given number plus a special string ( "01" and my password) and so on.
Does anybody know such a tool?
I noted an issue with caller ID and the firmware that I'm using (JM1 "New").
Whenever I receive I call, the phone recognize the phone and select the correct contact on my agenda. But whenever I'm on roaming of when I receive and SMS the phone can't identify the correct contact in my phonebook, and show the caller number (or sender number on SMS) instead of the contact in my phonebook.
I don't know if anyone else had this issue, or if it's an issue related to the Brazilian mobile phone infrastructure but I didn't had this kind of issues on my previous phones (Windows Mobile, Symbiam or Blackberry) and I would like to know how to solve this.
Important information: Here in Brazil, when you want to make a long distance call you have to choose the long distance operator on each call. In order to do so you have to select the operator using a two digit code after the long distance code "0" and before the city code. So it's like this:
0 XX 11 99999999
Long distance Operator City Phone
code code code number
So, in order to make this easy, I already included the Operator code in all contacts in my agenda, like: 0411199999999
But when I receive a call (from someone not in my agenda) it doesn't include the operator code. It shows only the phone number if the caller is from my city (99999999) or 0+city code+number when the caller is from other city (02199999999), without the operator code.
So I think that the issue is that the phone tries to match ALL the numbers from caller ID with the first numbers for that contact. So if the caller ID shows "99999999" it will match it with my agenda if I have "099999999", or "0411199999999). So as long as it finds the "99999999" it doesn't matter how long the number in my agenda is.
But sometimes (like when I'm on roaming or when I'm receiving and SMS) the caller ID shows an additional zero in from of the number (099999999). Since the phone can't match all the Caller ID numbers it can't find the contact in my agenda and shows the caller number instead of the contact.
So in order to this work for me it should only match the first 8 numbers from the caller ID with my phonebook. Does anyone know how to solve this? Is there a way to change the agenda configuration in order to match only the first 8 numbers?
