Restoring Inbox - Newbie Ques ...

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and think it's pretty awesome.
I have a UK Xda and upgraded to the latest official roms.
I did a full synchronise and also a full backup and went through the normal instructions, however I found that my sms-inbox messages was missing (along with other files) after re-syncing (after the upgrade).
I restored some files from the messages folder in my backup-image file (Backup.stg) to the windows/messaging folder in my xda, but cannot read these.
Is this the correct location for sms messages?
Is it right to copy these back to the original folder (I used HPCVault)?
Why can't they be read?
Is there a better way to restore my messages plus missed calls etc?
Any help would be appreciated - thanks

Recovery of Deleted sms?? HELP!!

Hello all Newbie here with a bit of a problem!
I need to be able to recover deleted text messages on my O2 Mini-s, can anyone supply me with any information on how this may be done??
Have background in computing and basic data recovery so have not used the phone since the messages were deleted!
How are text messages stored does anyone know the data structure??
Is there a program available to dump the content of the device on to pc to allow use of a full hex editor?
I really *need* the deleted messages and would appreciate any help even if it means developing a program to achieve the end result lol

6.1 SMS Threading - restore backup

Hi There,
Included in the new Mobile 6.1 OS there is the SMS Threading.
Does anyone know how to restore your SMS correctly without breaking the threaded view? I have tried all kinds of different programs, and they all show that the restore has been succesfull. In some programs you can even view the SMS on pc.
But always the threaded view on the device itself is corrupt.
Does anybody know how to rebuild the view?
Thank you already,
