Hello
So far over thirty views on this post and not one response.
If i have to pay for a fix i will.
It would be nice if someone could help thats all.
PLEASE
Well I've spending most of my time trying to find the thread that has already addressed this issue, but have been unable to locate it.
Anyhow if I remember correctly the thread talked about leaving the unit in the cradle while on until it booted on its own.

I think you are mistaking this forum for a paid-for support service.
If you look for Radio Stack Upgrades on this forum (or any place else on the net), you would notice lots of things can go wrong during these upgrades. These problems appear to stem from various sources, and there's not one easy solution. Our official advice is never to upgrade the RSU until you really, really, really have to, and know that the upgrade will fix know issues that are bothering you. You would also see your general question has been dealt with in detail many times before, which may be the reason people did not jump to answer your question promptly.
On recovery from RSU problems: many people have claimed success from various rescue methods, whose recipes you will find on this forum if you use the search function. If neither of these help, you'll have to send the unit in for service. Radio upgrade problems really show a main design weakpoint of the XDA. But hey, we didn't design it, and we didn't sell it to you either. We're just assembled here to help ourselves, and as many other people as we can. On behalf of this entire community, I apologize for the fact that we couldn't help you as promptly as is the obvious birthright of someone of your stature.
I can sense you're someone special. You post your problem and expect the perfect answer within 24 hours. If you don't get it, you then top it off by writing a post with subject '**** you all', and say you will buy a Sony Clie instead. Now I could tell interesting stories about something which Sony calls 'customer support', but I will not. Our world is a better place if you buy a Clie, and yours may be too. I'm sure many people on this forum would be more than happy to provide suggestions as to what to do with your old XDA.
No I do not think im special, nor do i think this is a "pay for fix" service.
I received my xda prior to release as my company writes software for the XDA. I have been reviewing this forum since it first started, when the only way to get round the sim-lock was to force a software error.
Yes things have progressed...a great deal, and it is by far the best xda site on the web. I recommend this site daily to associates and clients daily,
but it would also seem that some people have a "greater than thou" elitest attitude, and ignore any post which does not challenge their supreme intellect.
I would have been more than happy with a simple "go to this thread" rather than being passed over because my problem is not interesting.
I fly to Saudi on Tuesday, so if anyone wants a mint xda with cradle. then you can have it for free.
If anyone also wants the IPR for xda software that will make them alot of money then let me know. The concept has been tested and the IBM labs in Winchester have agreed to lend any equipment required.
Regardless of your sarcastic undertones, thank for for at least posting a reply.
Hi everyone, I have owned an XDA II for some time and have never got round to registering on this great site. On checking some of the posts on here I decided that enough was enough and it was time to get a new phone. On discovering the price of the MDA Compact via the Scancom website I ordered one. Arrived the next day and here we are!
The main reason why I choose this phone was the size. The XDA was simply too big and referred to as 'a brick' by most!
Being a newbie and reading through some posts, it seems that you can do rather a lot to these small devices! It anyone has a link to an overview of terms, (i.e Roms, overcooking, etc) that would be mostly appreciated.
Will be keeping my eyes peeled to this forum as the camera really does suck! If anyone has any way of upgrading this please let me know. It really is nowhere as crisp as the picture on the XDA II.
I ask, because seeing this forum, is the first time I've seen that mentioned.
In another forum (not XDA-dev) I saw the manufacturer listed as Inventec.
And in an HP IPAQ forum. someone asked if the HTC mini-USB to 3.5 or 2.5 audio adapters would work on the IPAQ 910. Someone else answered "no", saying that the HTC mini-USB ports are eleven pin, while the one on this IPAQ is ten pin.
If the phone were made by HTC, I would think that they would use the same kind of mini-USB port, as on their other phones.
Is it known for sure, that the IPAQ 910 was manufactured by HTC?
Has anyone here tried one of the mini-USB audio adapters made for HTC, on their IPAQ 910? If so, how well did it work?
HTC chargers seem to work.
Thanks for your feedback.
no it is not made by HTC.
for audio adapter , see here

Why is it listed here then, under "Other HTC manufactured phones-Sable"?
So, do you agree with those who say that the mini-USB audio adapters made for HTC phones, will not work well with the IPAQ 910?
It's OK to use the same chargers and sync cables though, no? They seem to work--I hope not harming the phone in some way.
because we don't have other better place to meet & group the threads together haha, so people just just post here for any HP IPAQ i suppose
anyway adapter made for HTC won't work on 91x because the pin-layout is different for audio.
It is ok to use the same cable for charge and sync because the charge and data transfer is a common standard in mini-usb. No audio is defined in the standard so manufacturer define their own-standard
Thanks for the info.
It is weird then, that manufacturers make their own proprietary headphone port, and then do not even make an adapter for it.
Shame on HP for doing so! (At least HTC makes an adapter for theirs, including one that has another mini-USB for charging, and a 2.5 and 3.5 headphone ports.)

Ha Ha. So the "HTC Sable" is a non-existent phone, an imaginary HTC phone, to list non-HTC phones under, so that the board admins don't know that people are discussing a (GASP!) non-HTC phone on their HTC-only board?
Oops, I hope they don't read this thread!
----------------------------------------------
By the way, Keyx, since you seem to be very technically knowledgeable, if you have a chance, please take a look at the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3619813&posted=1#post3619813
and let me know, if you have any insight into the question.
If I had known about this board, I might have posted it here. Not knowing, I posted it in the general WinMo board.

HTC Sable exist and made by HTC, it is one of the older IPAQ model, i forgot the model number though
EDITED: look at the text under the main title of this subforum: Also known as HP iPAQ hw69xx (hw6915 / hw6925 / hw6945 / hw6965 / hw6910 / hw6920 / hw6940)
Traditionally a few IPAQ were made by HTC but not 61x/91x this time
I don't have a data plan now so can't really look into DUN issue..may be a few weeks after i can, definitely not now though

There is an IPAQ 910/912/914 forum there now, but zero posts there yet. I guess people are reluctant to post, if they think no one will read and respond there.
Someone has to start posting there........
I used to work on the HTC Juno (T-Mobile Shadow) in the Smartphone General section of xda-developers, and after a year or so they finally gave us our own sub-forum. They may eventually do the same here. You're right that there's a bit of an HTC-only vibe with the way the forum is organized, but certainly I've seen Toshiba and Samsung-manufacturered device ROMs around here too.
The benefits of staying with xda-developers are clear: we use the same tools and methods that are used for HTC devices. Not to mention that despite the new iPAQs having a different manufacturer, they share much of the same kinds of underlying hardware (i.e. Qualcomm chipset, ARM processor). Those who own an HP 61x or a 91x are likely to have owned an HTC device in the past and may own an HTC device in the future. It is nice for us to stay with the same community
The big irony, of course, is that we've seen far more progress on xda-developers for the 61x and the 91x than we have for the (older and uglier) iPAQ h6300, which was actually made by HTC. Just ask brewhoxs - he'll tell you all about how there's no custom ROM developed for that device at all
Maybe rather than jumping to other forums we should put the pressure on xda-devs moderators to give us a sub-forum of our own.

Well that's the problem .. the guys at WinMoDev made an agreement with XDA to keep out each others fishingpond. XDA for HTC-phones and WinMoDev for other. Although I must agree I haven't seen much life on WinMo, the forum being many times down for some reason.
So wether we keep 'hiding' in the Sable-forum, or move over depends on the posters and on the readers, of course.

Really? This is the first I've heard of such a mutual no-compete agreement between the voluntary operators of two free forums.
Interesting. Not to toot anyone's horn, but we'd probably get a successful one-shot transition if keyx, sergiorus, ke_steve_le, Montecristo and myself all moved at the same time.
And maybe we should? Except winmodevelopers.co.cc says they are moving to new phpbb forums that will be at winmodevs.com. Plus when I visit the existing site it tries to install an unknown ActiveX control. Not cool!
Haha we should shop around wmexperts.com and ppcgeeks.com for competing trade offers

Hi,
Here's the topic in which Jay mentionned it ... The forum is still on the original *.forumer.com, so indeed rather confusing.
I use Firefox, no ActiveX seen or heared
Dirk
hey guys
im sorry to see you have had isues with the forum
at one point there was a very confusing time as we were gonna move to another brand of forum but that fell through, as for the downtime that was due to us perfecting the forum
one change that was implemented though as we have taken away all of the device forums this was mainly due to fatc that more and more device makers are bringing out winmo phones this makes it very hard for me and the other admins to keep track of
also we needed a place for non htc android devices to go
HOWEVER
the forum is up and running if you fancy moving there now
http://winmodevs.com
all the non htc devices are still welcome
also just to note the only reason there isnt a lot of posts is because if people dont se others helpoing they wont post so basically i need you devvers to get all you stuff moved over and theyll be a who load of new posters
Multiple Questions -
Would like a solution for all of them but will be researching on my own and posting updates about what I find as well. I want to begin by first asking you for your patience, and Thanking you for everything you guys do here at XDA. I sctually feel kinda cool, being a part of it. I cant wait to learn and master the world of Android and use it in my career field - Technology - IT
Also, trying to start a new discussion thread. (after my questions are closed out finished here, Id like to see it become a place where people come and are looking for a general place to look at cool ideas for your Android and PS3 and what you can do with them together. First, since I looked at all my questions and found sever closely worded scenarios that weren't what I wanted, You need a little background on me and the actual scenarios to get the full grip.
Okay, here it is. Ive been looking for a= for all the cool things I could do with my Android (Droid X2 - 2.3.5/Rooted- Eclipse 2.0.4) that involved my new PS3. I just got the PS3 and I was a hardcore Playstion fan since my early childhood. My first console as a matter of fact, was the PS1 with Gran Turismo 1. And while looking through the OS3's capabilities, I was Astounded... Yes you may like the Xbox 360 and I will give you that it is a very good gaming system that has many great and popular games (and you can play music saved on the local HD whilst you play {I havent quite gotten that done yet on the PS3 but I hope to.}) The Sony is much more.. You can do many interesting and by definition awesome things via Networking, Bluetooth, Internet, etc.. I recently graduated with my Assoc. in Networking and Im always thinking of all the things I need to make happen and what all will be required to preform, thus my occupation as a Network Admin (a beginner, but with excellent troubleshooting skills and quick learning). I hope to go back and BS in it as well and eventually master it (I want mo money) but while I am in my BS program, along with some other essential Cert's I will be needing, I want to completely and thouroughly learn the Android world and get a cert in it. I love the Android technology and capability.. :0 So, instead of reading forum after forum, like I usually do, Ive decided to join many of these forums and actually start, I figure you help me, I help you, we all get better. And, I'll be able to ask specific things, in my own words and have intelligent, Android users/devs to answer me and teach me (something Google cannot do.)
Now that you have a background on me (cause you may see me a lot), I must digress and get o with it. After Running through all the forums looking up ideas for my Droid X2 and how to use it to do a ton of cool things with my PS3, I will admit I had my heart set on a few specific things, but I found that there are a few threads about these kind of things and some are duplicate and there isn't a lot said.. Im opening this thread to get an answer to a few good questions of mine and then to leave it open for a discussion thread for anyone looking for the same kinda stuff one day so itll be all here, instead of way out in the cloud in bajillions of different places..
So, FIRST: I wanted to save a little money on a Playstation 3 remote (the one you use to wathc movies, like a T.V. remote) and use my android somehow via an app communicating with the Sony via bluetooth, network (since my phone is rooted and basically on the same Network as the Sony) anything. Is there anything like this out there? I am in the process of researching CM for the Droid X2 and Im learning about it, apparently the only app out there to do this with is Blueput droid I believe and its only $3 in the market but, Im an android/IT/hacker mod kinda guy, as long as its smooth stable and WORKS, and I believe that there is usually always a free way (on most things small like this esp) Blueput came out in beta for free but it only works for certain devices DX2 not being one of them, unless... You have CM7 any and all information about anything In my post would be saved and studied and used to learn with. So I can Own and be like you guys, a developer. So feel free to answer any and all of the trillion things you notice me wondering about and you happen to know or have an idea, I will work with you too} Now, I think CM7 will work on the Dx2 now, Ive been seeing so many people talk about how awesome it is, and that takes me to the second--
SECOND: Cyanogenmod {7} -- I have seen people raving about this, and from what I've gathered its a ROM with certain features. Can anyone tell me why this is so popular and whats so cool about it. Note: I'm also curious to any bugs or issues with the Dx2 as well.. Something good to know BEFORE you tackle a project. However, I thought I remember reading somewhere that there was a problem getting CM onto the x2 because of the Bootloader was locked {and still is according to what I read} I know that I may not seem like a computer idiot, I am capable and I can learn anything, but Im about to ask a stupid question, but I wont know til I ask so, will someone attach a link or something tell me in human words, what the boot loader actually is or does? My learning method was usually from the ground up and when I learn all the angles of something I can effectively troubleshoot or combine technollgies to make some cool capability, I should know what a damn bootloader is by now, but whatchya gonna do... *Face Palm
THIRD: Ok so this one is IMPORTANT -- I just got the PS3 and ofcourse I got Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. {Black ops has that cool zombie level you play to pass time with friends or when you're baking up some good *greens the delicious way lol but it was $30 bucks already and MW3 was still 60 and more popular and IMO one of the best ever made to date, and thats considering all games in my lifetime, back to the 90's. So what I wanted to do is somehow use my phone as a head set for the Sony in MW3 so I could talk to the people {I can hear them when they talk and its pretty funny lol} Until just recently I didnt know that online play with the Sony was free.. *Face Palm again... So I immediately got on and started getting my own ass placed at my feet bu children..... I then found that you can hack the game, but I couldnt find any of the hacks online except one password protected rar folder that my rar password recovery program will take it 30 years to crack... smdh I would assume that linux has a method that is MUCH faster. Not that I want to cheat, just use on the campers. and other lobbies full of actual hackers that cheat.. My sole intention is to get very well off at the game and just do free for all. awaiting better stats..
When I looked into this one, I see no hope; but thats where the gurus can help. I know that the Sony and my x2 both use Bluetooth 2.0 but I did see something someone said that the Droid cannot be used as a mic There has to be a way. If not Bluetooth the over the Network or internet or something! Anyways, yeah, that was top priority when I thought of it.
Blueput Droid and CM7 I believe give me the ability to use my phone as a wireless mouse and keyboard, If so then awesome. I still want the DVD Player remote (like the tv remote) function.
I know that the headset or something like it, has to exist. I've even been as far as to say that if I used a remote desktop app (in Android it may be ssh or something, if Im right and remember it being, different and weird.) and when you are in control of said dev, you have access to the system, your external devices such as USM and even, the microphone {tada!} would be an input for the machine I was remoted into. Anyway, I also through the network out their (LAN) bc of DroidMote Beta and that with that capability out there, I know I can remote play my PS3 with a PSP and probably a Rooted android, if so, I can join the Dualshock3 controller to my phone, and then I can play it on my phone with the controller, and using the mic, and speakers and screen! and having said all of this.. A book for goodness sakes.. I may also just be crazy. and wrong, which I am not afraid to admit.
Now I know that this was EXTREMELY long winded, as Im sure you can tell that I took my medicine this morning lol this is one add man that is not hindered by the slow, sluggish effects of having ADD. So, excusing my massive post, I hope that I have started a very useful thread that will attract other posters in the future and will evolve into a PS3:Android discussion forum, saving oodles of people time when searching for this fantastic sorcery I hope I have helped and contributed, as I plan to do for all of you as I can.
Given the information above and the questions I had swarming around that I put on this post, could you help me with these? Thank you in advanced for all that spend their time on this. I appreciate all the work Ive seen you do in the years past and now Im here to help as well.
PS: Since you know I am not to new to forums, meaning that Ive read them ALOT and know how they work basically, I never actually participated (How weak of me; what a drain) So I may not have the method down quite right. I will remember to keep the post's smaller than this one and post in the right place. I am open and begging for any and all tips and information on the forum, Android, and the inquiries above. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!
Hi!
I came first at imate jam times (mean HTC Magician). Have enjoy here a lot and, figuratively, this XDA world has been my second home for more than six year.
Before, I have been at doom's 9 (a DVD decryption and edition forum). And even before in Peque's Worlds (a Spanish Secam and Nagra decryption forum).
I use to write Access VBA for my own since more than 20 years and remember the times when I connect to a BBS with a 28 kbs modem. So, nearly sure, I’m older than most of the people here.
In real life I'm lawyer and use my smartphone for work everyday.
My last device (HTC HD2 running WinMo) pass away last summer (to be franc it is at the 'doctor' to get a new screen) and when I ordered my SIII, I was really afraid of so many changes coming.
Finally, English is not my mother language. I have, mostly, learned to read and write it here.
All that introduction is my small presentation in this SIII forum (not my first post). A way to justify why I dare to open a new thread and, finally, a pray for a little condescendence with my personal and not natively writed opinion.
After three months here, going to the subject, I'm slowly learning to use this new toy. Still far from providing something evaluable, but beginning to understand this new ecosystem with the help of a handful of masters that are teaching here for nothing.
I’m grateful to all of them and to XDA forums in general, but on the other side I’m also feeling that particularly this SIII area is a little missed, being feed by Samsung without order nor proposal and a little clutered by no sense.
Do we really need so many leaks and roms for our devices? Do we really need to lose time asking each other if UK leak should be first or not? Or, as an advanced user’s community, shouldn't we better be asking Samsung firmly to solve all the problems we find and to push fixes to our devices without waiting new local otas or leaks.
In general we have a very good device. Hardware is incredible. Android is a wonderful open source project. And Touchwiz a very nice interface made by Samsung for us.
But touchwiz is also the reason why many people bought a Samsung phone and mandatory interface for a lot of functions, and definitively it has some glitches very difficult to understand.
Should we really be changing manually firmwares to get a colour to our likes?
Don’t we deserve a proper skining system, to decide the colour of our notification bar or to change the switches we has in it, with just a menu option?
Do we deserve a final fix for lags, the battery gripes lot of people has suffer without an explanation or the poor dialer we get?
Shouldn’t Samsung forget that way of feeding us and begin to work to solve immediately the problems we find and to send us and maintain daily updated a software that at least do right the few things it should do out of the box.
Come on Sammy, you have make wonderful things for this device (prediction in Keyboard is incredible, battery life is most of the time incredible, interactivity in touchwiz is very well constructed...) but you are also kidding us and being dumb to the voice of the people that at the end could tell you what the user need...
Don’t know if it will be for god or not, but for me threads asking for solutions, like the one claiming Exynos sources, are the ones who should be pinned and treads like “Increase your battery life up to 500% (All android phones)” or the one discussing which should be the leaks order, must be immediately closed and forget. Personally I feel that only this way XDA’s SIII forum will has the chance to do the things forums has made for advance and knowledge I other areas.
To conclude and focusing, shouldn’t we refuse to act like a laboratory mouse and drive to more constructive ways, with clear petitions to Sammy internal developers?
Thats all.
Please, forgive me if this sound a little stupid ....or should go to and specific threat
