Newbie - MDA Compact has arrived - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi everyone, I have owned an XDA II for some time and have never got round to registering on this great site. On checking some of the posts on here I decided that enough was enough and it was time to get a new phone. On discovering the price of the MDA Compact via the Scancom website I ordered one. Arrived the next day and here we are!
The main reason why I choose this phone was the size. The XDA was simply too big and referred to as 'a brick' by most!
Being a newbie and reading through some posts, it seems that you can do rather a lot to these small devices! It anyone has a link to an overview of terms, (i.e Roms, overcooking, etc) that would be mostly appreciated.
Will be keeping my eyes peeled to this forum as the camera really does suck! If anyone has any way of upgrading this please let me know. It really is nowhere as crisp as the picture on the XDA II.

a link to my little look at the k-jam and jasjar

hi all. I've lurked for a while on and off but I received a PM elsewhere today that reminded me of you guys so I thought it was time to sign up and say hi!... so... hi!
my first contribution will be a link to a little look at my latest devices, the k-jam and jasjar and since it covers both I hope you will let me get away with posting it here and in the wizard forum.
I hope you find something useful or interesting in this...
A couple of my mates. Meet JasJar and K-Jam (many pics)
Hi! Welcome to the forum (if I may make so bold) Interesting reading, thanks!

SPV-M600 Giveaway

Last year I changed my SPV-M600 to a Touch Diamond. The M600 has since been demoted to the cluttered up bottom drawer of my bedside cabinet. Ive realised that in all probability I will never ever use it again so I would like to donate it to a good cause.
Ive taken huge amounts of knowledge away from this website and downloaded countless free apps, so I figured I would hand something back, ie, my old phone. I would like to think that this device, whilst not exactly cutting edge, might find a new home with a developer or some such person for testing new apps, etc, but also someone who puts a lot of effort into helping us on this site. The device is bog standard as I got it from Orange, and has WM5 installed. Its got a tiny dint on the screen but still fully functional (Got the box, instructions, charger, etc, but theyre prob not that much use).
I havent really thought it out fully, but firstly, does anyone think this might be useful to someone, and if so who ? I was thinking maybe the mods could nominate someone ?
I know its not like im giving the crown jewels away or anything but I just want it to be useful and not flogged on by some wide boy for a couple of quid/euros.
(ps...I will also pay reasonable postage costs)
Blimey ..... 49 views and not a single nomination. Is this phone really that bad ?
Did I mention it was FREE to a good home ?
and if someone volunteers for giving it a good new home himself?
If you really want to give it away, i would love to receive it =0)
But im the first one to nominate myself and have more posts (70 as compared to your 3) and joined the forum 1 month earlier
so its mine
lol, just let him decide^^
and i don't understand the point of your posts sorry^^
it's just that my xda neo broke some days ago so this one would be really cool =)

Its fine if you want to nominate yourself chaps, however I did say that I would like to see it go to someone who would put it to good use, such as a developer.
Liamhere is both a mod, meaning he puts his own time into this site, and has expressed a desire to use it as a development tool.
Liamhere its yours, if you still want it. Will pm you and arrange postage. Won't be till next week though.
many thanks mate
will contact you via pm.

Farewell (more or less)

Yesterday I have received my new Touch Pro from Orange Spain, so i'm slowly begining to move to other threads of this amazing forum and want to send previously a very, very, very BIG THANKS to al people here that contribute unselfishly to make this tiny devices something usable.
Will miss all of you, cheefs and mates.
Anyway, my Old friend Hermes goes to one of my sons, so from time to time will be back to keep him up to date...
Thanks Again

Getting mine Monday... new toy alert!!!

Hi all, well after doing tons of looking and research I have taken the plunge and got myself one of these to play with... its replacing my X1 and TyTN II... hoping for some great things particularly as I do a lot of reading and watching vids on my phone now... I also use it for Chinese reading and writing so hoping it matches up there too... really looking forward to getting it and taking it for a spin... is there a thread that sort of discusses the topic "ok so now you have your HD2 so what next, things to do"...?
Now I have been looking around but apart from the tweaks thread is there a repository of cabs or software to use with the HD2? eg has the net 3.5 to download etc... there were such for the X1 and the TyTN II... would make life a bit easier than tracking it all down via searches and threads... yes I know lazy of me for sure, but time is of the premium at the moment and I am sure the wife is going to let me know all about how she feels of my new toy... cheers all...

17 May 2011 - HD2 for Sale (Spares or Repair)

Hey forum folks, I'm selling my HD2
]
Sadly, I dropped my HD2 and the screen went *smash!* although, it all still worked. Anyway, this blighted me so I tried to replace the screen with a brand new digitizer/screen replacement combo but I have failed. Despite very carefully taking it all apart and putting it all back together (as per the HTC guides on youtube) I've failed to do a good enough job and the screen now believes I am pressing it when I am not. Anyway, I believe this can be fixed but I don't have the know how or the funds to do it as I am going travelling in a fortnight.
I have therefore taken the v.diff decision to flog my phone so that someone can fix it or use it for spares. As far as I can tell everything is working except for the volume buttons. I think the problem with the volume buttons is that the orange sticker thing might have fallen off and I don't know where to get these replaced?
Anyway, the screen is BRAND NEW; as is the digitizer. The GPS module, battery and camera all work fine so it's an ace little phone that could be easily stripped for spares. I'm giving you guys the chance to get in on the bidding and if you've got any questions I'll answer them right here! So get bidding - oh and the auction opens at 0.99p!!!
I should also add that I don't think this contravenes the forum rules but if it does I beg and plead and grovel in a very humble manner - I only mention it because I know how important these rules are and I know how upset the moderators get with idiots and I am scared I may have stumbled into that category with this posting.
I think you're ok, just post this in the Marketplace next time, maybe a mod can move it for you.
Hi Guys and Gals,
Sorry to bother you all, but just wanted to say that I have been forced to relist my old HD2 after the last auction was won by a massive timewaster who didn't pay up and who wouldn't respond to questions as to the delay.
Anyway, I've relisted the device on e-bay, and you can find it at e-bay.co.uk and the item is ******. I hope that this time someone who actually wants it might win!
Cheers
We have a Marketplace for selling things. And we don't alllow ebay links, as per the forum RULES.
