I\'m a newbie with the XDA II and i\'m still in the process of learning the ropes. I badly need your help..
For some reason, i can\'t get the default headphones(one that came in with the XDA II box) to work for calls. When i plug it in, for calls, no sound comes out of it, instead, the sound is still directed to the XDA IIs speakers. However, the headphones work perfectly well when i use it for the media player.
Is there any setting i should do for this to work? or is there something wrong with my XDA? What should i do?
Would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance!

I got no response in the stocking up for it forum so ill try here...
Hopefully you guys are a bit more clued up...
I have switched from XDA to XDA II
On the XDA the audio out pins (3 + 4) used provide audio out all the time.
This was great for mp3 playing and sat nav instructions but no so good if you wanted to wire to stereo and use the radio mute function of the stereo.
On the XDA II the same pins now seem to only provide audio out during a call. not even the ring tone is transmitted out - it only cuts in when the call is answered.
Does anyone know of a way of making the XDA II behave like the XDA in this matter and provide all audio out all the time.
I dont mind if its a piece of software, a registry hack or a pin I need to short or anything.
I just want to be able to return to having my sat nav instructions and mp3 files play through the speakers.
I use TomTom Navigator 2...
Thanks in advance for any help...
i hade the same problem
i figured out i had to + or - something to a pin
i cant remember just now wich one
problem then was, you need a preamped mic in singal for talking cause internal mic is disabled
Where did you get your info from so i can go looking...
Did you try grounding 19 (CAR_ON#) like it says on http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/Connectors ?
"When this pin is connected to ground, the internal mike and speaker are turned off, and audio input is taken from the audio input pin on the connector, for use in real car kits."
Haven't tried it myself...
Jamie
i believe that the XDA car kit does this...
but the xda behaves differently than the xda ii
the xda is audio on all the time and the xda ii is audio only during a call
Im looking into this at the mo. My idea is a cable from the XDA2 to a box, the box will have a 3.5mm socket with audio out to the car stereo (audio from phone and mp3 playback etc), 3.5mm for an external mic input. 5v power out to charge/supply the XDA2, power out and data link to garmin eTex GPS. The data side is easy to do. i just need to run the testes on the audio side.

Hi! Is your TDI the PD? Would you be able to hear something?
I just can't believe it is not described here!
XDA-Developers seem to be a very competent and sophisticated site dedicated to XDA1+2. How it is possible that description of XDA2's four-pin 2.5mm jack isn't described here (including those two buttons)?

Because we simply haven't yet taken the litlle XDA2 thingy apart. (I have been meaning to for the longest time, but simply haven't gotten around to it.)
hi, is there a way to make the sound work again on a xda exec if the sound port is broken. the sound port isnt there anymore so i get no sound from the the pda. the only way i can use the phone is if i have a bluetooth headset, im not too keen on using one plus i like using my pda for music? i dont really want to change the board if i can help it. any help wud be great.
When I connect head phones to my x10a the audio is distorted badly. it doesnt matter if I connect headphones or a aux cord to the phone to listen to music in the car the audio is distorted and the music app I use (pandora, last fm,slacker) all become unlistenable. Is there a app or a hack I need to do? I already did a warranty exchange with the phone.. any help will be appreciated.
Do your headphones have a microphone on them? That happened to me as well, so I got some headphones without a mic, and now it's crystal clear. I have altec brand headphones now and they are awesome. If you get new onss, I highly recommend getting those.

i got audio problems too change your phone as soon as you can
Again. Questions go in Q&A
I can connect to BT wireless speakers however the sound ALWAYS comes from the phones speaker, and NOT the wireless speaker. I know I'm syncd and everything is checked for Media Audio Device in the BT settings.
SOOOO.... What gives?? I am stumped. I have tried the Sammy music player and clicking "via bluetooth" - nothing. I have tried poweramp which has an A2DP setting - nothing. Same speakerphone BS.
I feel REAL stupid. I have flashed, rooted, un-bootlocked my Note 2, use TWRP, etc so it's weird for me not to figure this out.
Please help community!! I am on stock rom roooted via the "just twrp + stock MDL" mod (credit would be given but I forget whom on this forum typed that one up - sorry).
and I have searched google and this forum high and low to no results.
Thanks!

Have you tried deleting and repairing the device? Sometimes this works when BT problems arise.
I have done a factory and data reset, But I'm not too sure what you mean by repairing the device. If you could explain an elaborate more on that I appreciate it! Thanks
Re-pairing the device after you have unpaired. But you already covered that by doing a full reset.
Do the speakers work with a different BT source?

ill try it out but that is not acceptable to me. The gs4 shouldn't need a third party app (and I haven't tried it yet but it says mono so I'm assuming its not even stereo quality).
Obviously other ppl with this phone don't have this issue or it would be mayhem. There would be questions asked in all the forums and review ssites would have mentioned a bt bug. I think I will go to the store and get an exchange.
FWIW my note 2 connected/paired with anything I threw at it! Can't wait for the note 3
I stream Bluetooth audio via my car stereo and Bluetooth speakers at work everyday and have never had an issue.
That being said try a different music player and see because I have heard of that being an issue.

Hello,
So basically my phone's mic isn't working (HTC Sensation XE). The problem is that the port pins on the motherboard are broken. No easy fix for that.
I would like to cut some headset and make it only a mic that I will fix to the back case cover. however, is there a way to make the phone use only the mic and not transfer the sound as well? So I can speak to the headset but hear from the phone as regular.
Thank you!
There is an easy and non-destructive way to test that. If you're interested pm me , i'll explain on skype or something.
Im interested in knowing this too
