When I connect head phones to my x10a the audio is distorted badly. it doesnt matter if I connect headphones or a aux cord to the phone to listen to music in the car the audio is distorted and the music app I use (pandora, last fm,slacker) all become unlistenable. Is there a app or a hack I need to do? I already did a warranty exchange with the phone.. any help will be appreciated.
Do your headphones have a microphone on them? That happened to me as well, so I got some headphones without a mic, and now it's crystal clear. I have altec brand headphones now and they are awesome. If you get new onss, I highly recommend getting those.

Hi folks,
I was just handed an XDA II at work. It plays audio fine through the internal speaker in all applications until I plug the 2.5mm headphones in - a little crackle on the headphones on insertion, but nothing. I've tried 2 XDA headphones that came with it, and a standard mobile headset. Nada. It seems to have the latest ROM etc. Any tips?
On a related question, assuming I can't fix the 2.5mm plug, I would appreciate any tips on good bluetooth headphones that will bond with the XDA II just for listening to mp3s, watching movies.
Cheers,
B
Try inserting the plug all the way then pulling out slightly while listening to music.
Thanks - I've tried variations on this tip, but I think the socket must be quite dead :-(
No sound through XDAII headphones
I also have the same problem tho I can hear a crackle as I push the jack in and out.

Hi guys, my 328i has a built in Aux input. And it works great with my Vibrants 3.5 output jack. The only issue I have is, the volume is just not as loud as It is listening from the mp3 CD. The volume for both the phone and car is at full volume.
When I usually listen to mp3 cds, the sound goes up way louder. Is there a way to hack the phone to output louder through the 3.5 jack? Or if any of you have the 328, is there some option to do that?
I don't know about mp3 cds but as for official cds bought from the store, they are definitely a lot louder that the phone through aux jack. Same deal with my g1 before I got the vibrant.I'm sure once the rooting and custom recovery is all sorted out and we start getting some custom roms, the devs will include volume hacks just like they did for the g1.

I'm quite satisfied with the volume. If you need to blow your ears off boost up the EQ.
Actually, it's really weird. Through headphones I can equalize my Vibrant and iPod to sound the same, but through AUX, the vibrant is quieter (Same volume settings). Really makes no sense to me. It has to be something with the equalizer...
Edit: But it is in no way quiet. I have to turn up my car stereo by like 4.
Try a different cable or a higher quality audio file.
I play songs between 192kbps to 328kbps and have no problems. The volume is at the same level since I used my mp3 cd.
appreciate the inputs, i'll look for the equalizer on the phone.
Have you guys tried sending the audio thru bluetooth audio enable car radio? Pretty cool no cables needed
I can even listen to pandora and send the audio to my stereo

whoa, i'm going to have to try this out. any advice?
I have the Pioneer Z110BT Navigation and it has bluetooth audio. Just pair your Vibrant to the Pioneer then play any song on your vibrant using the music player. Click options then "Via bluetooth".
Then go to your stereo and click on bluetooth audio. Voila! Streaming music from your Vibrant to car stereo. The sound is also great!!
Not to hijack this thread but my one complaint of the phone is how low call volume and audio volume are.
Everythings turned up to max and this phone is roughly half as loud as my MT3G is set at 50%.
I have a Sony xplode and play through Bluetooth, I get great sound.
I have no issues with call sound or ring levels. I actually have to turn it down sometimes because its to loud.

I built a custom cable to connect the headphone jack to my Pioneer's IPBUS connector - it works great, and is very loud. I keep both the head unit and phone's volume on half way, and depending on the song I may have to turn it down, too.
Anybody verify that when headphones are plugged in to the 3.5mm stereo jack and a call is either placed or picked up that you can hear the person on the other end through the headphones but the person on the other end cannot hear you?
The mic is essentially disabled when the headphones are connected.
I have confirmed with Blackberry, HTC HD2, & Mytouch Headphones that you can indeed talk to the person. I did have a problem with pushing in the headphones in all the way, & when they weren't in all the way they couldn't hear me so make sure it is fully contacted with the jack.
Well it definitely looks like this is a proprietary issue. I took my phone back to verizon to check whether or not the phone was defective. Brought my handsfree (both Ifrogz and V-moda) to test on in-store fascinate. Made a phone call and the sales guy couldn't hear me. Put it in his storm2 and it worked just fine.
Went back and used a co-workers samsung's handsfree, and it worked perfectly. I wish they would've included the handsfree in verizon package. Unless somebody has tested out another handsfree brand to let us know, I'm thinking the 3.5mm jack is customized to samsung accessories only.
Interesting find!
Keep in mind I'm not trying to use a handsfree headset - I'm attempting to use my Bose In-Ear headphones.
I used to be able to take calls on my Incredible (and other phones) with them if I was out trail running, walking, just listening to music, etc.
You have an excellent good point with regards to a proprietary 3.5 mm port due to the fact that it also supports video out.
get a cheap nokia headset controller ad-54 on ebay.. the changes the wiring so calls can work through headphones.. ie one of these
http://cgi.ebay.com/AD-54-HS-45-Han...464602?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a0a6bd19a
I also can confirm that this doesn't work with the Fascinate. On numerous occasions, I have been walking to class on campus while listening to music. I assumed I could just answer the call and speak, because I could do that on my Droid X, but the caller wasn't able to hear me.
I'm assuming Bose headphones do not have a microphone, so how do you plan on using those for calls?
You need to use headphones with a 4 prong jack, which has a mic, such as the OEM ones

Plugging in the headphones disables the main microphone on the phone though, even if there is not a mic on the headset. Normally on other phones I've had, I could answer while on the headphones and just speak into the phone's mic, but that us not possible with this phone. I don't know if there is a remedy for this that doesn't involve using a special set of headphones...

I used my old blackberry headphones from my Storm and doesn't work but I noticed my friend had a spare headphones for his HD2. I should asks him for them.i doubt he needs a spare since he rarely uses a headphone.

So I figyred how to use my blackberry headset on my Fascinate. I had to unplug after making a call and then plug it back in.
Why does every cell phone with top notch hardware specs get released with all these tiny little software glitches.

I'm not sure if it was just me but I also had something odd happen. I used to use my iPhone for navigation and music in my car so, naturally, I use my new Fascinate the same way. I received a call while using my bluetooth headset and the phone routed audio to the car stereo instead of the bluetooth headset. I could hear the caller but they (obviously) couldn't hear me. The audio source on the screen was set to bluetooth too. Fairly annoying.
Anyone able to solve this?
Are you on a stock rom or a custom one? I believe this has been fixed with the Super Clean rom.

I'm using SC 2.9.2 and the receiving end couldn't hear anything.
I've run into this same issue. My wife's car has a bluetooth phone connection, so when in her car, I have my phone plugged into her stereo for music. When a phone call comes through, the call is picked up through the bluetooth, but the other end can't hear me unless I unplug the cable from the headphone jack.

Well it wasn't working on the updates stock 2.1 nor SC 2.9.2 still.

i fixed no problem at all
Ok, so I've searched the s4 threads for a while now and haven't seen anyone post about this issue, but I've found several threads related to older samsung hardware with the same issue and no real definitive solutions.
In my car I have bluetooth calling but not ad2p. If I plug my phone into the aux jack for my stereo it appears that it disables bluetooth audio, so if someone calls me, my car recognizes there's a call and plays its ring thru the stereo, the audio from Aux stops and it displays the call info on screen, but they can't hear me and I can't hear them. In other threads I've noted that sometimes people can still hear the other caller, but not them. I'm pretty sure this is related to the specific make/model of vehicle.
So I'm curious what workarounds do you guys have?
I'm trying to do this in a 2011 Nissan Rogue BTW.
I'm stock not rooted ATM.
And Thanks as always for any responses. You guys are awesome.
Same thing for me in an 06 Infiniti g35 coupe. I think it has to do with the phone and being plugged in via aux and conflicting with all audio being exported to the aux jack and pretty much disabling the Bluetooth (it certainly blows) hopefully there will be a fix soon.
I am pretty sire all of my phones do this. Note 2 one and the S4

that really annoys me also, having to unplug the AUX every time a call comes in while on my Bluetooth.
I've noticed a loud thumping sound, same loudness as whatever I'm listening to, while using headphones or plugged into the auxiliary input in my car. It happens whenever I do an action like exit or open an app, or when an audio track ends or starts, example being whenever tracks change in Play Music.
Verizon is sending me a replacement phone, so I'll post if I notice it on the next one or not.
Same on T-Mobile version
It happens on my car aux input. Every time I hit play on a song, there is an audible thump before the music starts
This happens to me as well on my VZW G2. Mainly when its plugged into my car and I change tracks.
It happens to me too

New phone is still doing it, but not as bad. Most pronounced in Play Music.
No problem here with headphones or usb aux in Pioneer head. VZW Variant.

I know its not the car's aux input (via headphone jack) as 2 other phones work fine in the same car.
No clue. The two and only things relating to audio I have modded is increasing gain to 65 and removing the headphone notification. Doubt the latter makes a dif. I have used the tone 730 bts, 4 dif sets of plug headphones (one had separate jack for Mic), two dif USB wires for aux through mpt on Pioneer head unit, and one headphone to headphone aux input on Pioneer unit. I get crisp clean audio, no thump.
I've noticed mine does it in the car but when I connect to a Bluetooth speaker or use headphones it doesn't

ok, I've narrowed it down to only happening to me on Google Play Music on the current phone. I have someone from google working on the issue with me now. Did try a different aux/headphone cable, no difference.

Discovered another app that does it, Stitcher. Same behavior, whenever a podcast is started/stopped. Google punted the issue saying its hardware. I opened a case with LG support and they said they are already aware of the problem and are working on a solution to be included in a future update.
Mine does it even on bluetooth. Tested with a jbl charge and a jambox mini.
