I am using CSD with V.110 between 2 i-mate. After connected, when i call the lineDrop, the LINECALLSTATE_IDLE event occurs only after 1 minute and 20 secs.
I want to know if i can do this process faster.
Thank you.
Cesar.
Problem solved.
The problem with delay is that i received a new hardware with an old operating system.
I downloaded the upgrades from http://www.clubimate.com and after that my problem with delay's using lineDrop was solved.

I have MDA tmo (US). My radio ROM is 1.13.10.
While i am using streaming audio (http://di.fm), i cannot receive any phone calls and will not receive "missed call" notification either.
Is this "by design" or radio Rom issue? does anyone have the same issue with different ROM???

this issue is quite wide spreaded on polish pdaclub.pl forum, however in my case it works flawlessly. i've started downloading abt. 500 KB file via GPRS straight from Wizard and then called from another mobile. i could pick up this connection and after that PIE just asked me if i'd like to resume file downloading.
maybe this 'bug' depends on network, not neccessary on hardware...?
thx... you do have a newer radio rom. It'll be interesting to know how other ROM may work...
I think this is network issues and not phone. It depends on your carrier.

It is not a operator/network issue*. The same part of the network does not know simultanously that the GPRS is actually downloading at that instant AND also terminating a call. The two things are asynchronous contexts.
It's the handset radio/OS that handles the switch and pausing (if it's a class B device) of GPRS when a call comes in. This sounds like something that will be fixed/made less flakey in newer revisions.
(*although that's not to say that the behaviour will not be slightly different on various networks)
well, i was under that impression because every phone ive had from nokia to motorola to htc has this problem.cant receive a call while data is being downloaded.

Samehere with Qtek 2.18 NL ROM on Dutch T-Mobile network: when i start downloading and i receive a incoming call, i can just answer the phone and the download is interrupted. When i end the call, i can select to continue download.
Sorry to bring back an old issue, but I think this is a ROM issue, I think on the custom 2.17 ROM it worked fine but I dont remmber for sure. THis is a big issue.
tokuro, you mentioned that you listen to streaming radio using GPRS/EDGE. Are you doing this without the audio skipping/rebuffering every 4 minutes or so? If so, how? What program/settings are you using?
Take a look at this , made a lot of research about the issue

I am in the testing stage on a soon to be released program. It uses the phone and works 100% on my xda mini, xda II, XDA I but on the atom I can only get outward bound call to work with data.
normal opperation:
OFFERING
lineSetCallPrivilege
lineAnswer
CONECTED
lineGetID
SetCommState
SetCommTimeouts
......15 -20 seconds
CONECTED
read etc.
with the atom all goes for outbound calls but with inbound calls the 15-20 second delay when the modems talk is 0 seconds. The remote party still stops for 15-20 seconds and then it gets a connected message.
the handle i get for the serial port when answering a call dose not cause any read/write errors such as 6(bad handle) it just times out depending on my settings.
Has anyone succesfully answered and received data with an atom?
Dose anyone have a link to the manufacturess (quanta) site so I can ask if they implemented the TSPI_lineGetID fully.
I would just flush the atom if I owned another mobile 2005, but until then I cant be sure if its the hardware the operating system or my code.
I have confirmation that my code is good and wm2005 is good. My friend bought a jamin and we tested it.
edit:
replace:THE ATOM DOSE NOT WORK. with:MAKES MORE PROBLEMS THAN ITS WORTH FIXING...
If you are thinking of bying it I strongly recomend not doing so. I will be buying a jamin or kjam in a couple of weeks and never look back to the atom. IMO the origional XDA is better than the atom, it isn't fancy but its never let me down.
I seem to have found a very strange fix for this problem. I have been opening the line using lineOpen() and passing a dwCallbackInstance of 1. This has worked well on every device and because the documentation says...
User-instance data passed back to the application with each message associated with this line or with addresses or calls on this line. This parameter is not interpreted by TAPI.
I assumed it would have no effect on the way a call is made other than if I use it to sort out messages. Today I changed this to an arbitrary 3019 while cleaning up some of my code, just to make sure I am probably not conflicting with other people programs and now the atom can answer calls properly.
The timing of the line event messages is still wrong and my ui looks like its malfunctioning but after waiting the normal time for a connection the read/write opperations succeed. I have not changed any other code in relation to how the call is sent or answered so this baffles me but at least it works.
This may not be related, but I think the whole implementation of KernelIOControl function is a bit different on the atom then on most other phones (and PPC in general).
I encountered this when I tried to retrieve the devices UUID with a buffer bigger that 16. On most other devices it should be 36 or 40 (which actually matches, by size if not by content, the MSDN documentation) but on atom it was 52 (if I am not mistaken).
Very odd.
I had not noticed that, its a long time since I used the id but my old code still works. Its probably because I use a huge buffer the difference was not causing any problems.
I bought my Jasjam 5 days ago. I am having a problem that sometimes people cannot call me. When they make an attempt to call me they get the message that the phone is off-line.
When the phone is in this state I cannot make calls either although I can see the "G" icon as well as the signal bars. The dialer shows "Dialing....." for a few seconds and then cuts out.
This does not happen all the time but say once or twice a day.
Things become okay when I soft reset my phone.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced a similar problem and if there are any solutions. This is very annoying as you are so uncertain that you may not be accessible and you don't even know of that.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind Regards
I wonder whether it's worth trying to take it off automatic band selection and choosing GSM only for a day to see if it still has same issue.
Start>SettingsPersonal>Phone icon>Band and selecting GSM in both drop down boxes. In second drop down list it'll be the GSM band for your area or test on each to see which works.
I suggest the above just in case you have the dropped line due to auto swapping between GSM and UMTS issue.
Mike
I seem to have solved the problem of the radio silently switching itself off without me knowing and so risking unnoticed missed calls.
The ROM version supplied from the factory with my Jasjam (HT647xxx) is as follows:-
ROM Version: 1.31.305.2
ROM Date: 8th September 2006
Radio Version: 1.21.31.10
Protocol Version: 32.53.7020.01H
Ext ROM Version: 1.31.305.104
Bootloader Version:1.06
Strangely the I-Mate site at this point states the latest ROM available for download is:
ROM Version: 1.20.305.3
ROM Date: 21st July 2006
Radio Version: 1.07.03.10
Protocol Version: 32.41.1010.02H
Ext ROM Version: 1.20.305.104
Bootloader Version:1.04
So I flashed my Jasjam with the ROM of 21st July 2006 downloaded from the I-Mate site.
For the last two or three days since I have downgraded the ROM the problem of radio switching itself off seems to have disappeared.
Just wondering if I-Mate are aware of the problem with the ROM currently being shipped with new devices and so decided the keep the old ROM for download on their website.
I will continue checking and report if I see the problem reappearing.
I thought to share this information in case it is useful for any one of us.
Regards

I already changed the rom 6 times, to 6 different roms (official, boiled, WM5.0, 6.0, 6.1), but nothing happened... I already try to change radio rom only to a different and back to the original. But nothing...
The last service said "the hardware is ok", they measured everything.
The problem is that the phone connect to the tower, but after 1 minute lost the connection, but show me the full signal level and I'm unavailable. At the first call that I make it show me an "operation failed" message and reconnect...
I think it sounds more like a radio ROM issue than an OS ROM. I had similar issues until I found a radio ROM that worked for me.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I had change my OS ROM and Radio ROM to your settings
IPL 1.04/ SPL: Hard-SPL V7 2.10.OLIPRO
Radio 1.48.00.00
Rom Version:Josh's Manilla2D v15
But nothing...
Please help me, my Dopod 838 Pro has No GSM!
This sounds similar to the problem's I'm having with my Sony Ericsson X1. It started a couple of weeks ago, seemingly spontaneously. I had been running the same firmware (generic UK R3AA010) for quite a while with no problems (at least more than usual with the X1) but suddenly one day these symptoms show up:
People who try to call me get an "unavailable" tone. If they try again it works fine
If I try to call someone, it just silently fails the first time. If I try again it works fine
So it seems that the phone gets disconnected form the network somehow. It can't just be that the phone network looses track of where the phone is (in which cell), since it affects outgoing calls as well.
I've tried this with two different SIM cards from different operators with identical results.
I've tried a couple of other firmware versions with no help. If anyone can help with information on this I'd be very grateful.
There's no way I can use a phone that people can't reach me on, but I can't stand the thought of throwing a fairly expensive phone in the trash.
exactly same problem here. I figured out that switching off the phone function in comm manager and then switching it back on does the trick without soft-reset, but I don't need to explain to you how annoying it is... I've already changed 4 OS roms and 2 radio roms with no result... I'd appreciate any suggestion very much.
I found out some strange bug:
When my TYTN is connected to the network (UMTS) and bluetooth is switched on too I can not make telephone calls. TYTN starts dialing but disconnects after 5 sec. (No errormessage, but plays a sound 3 times (something like: ding…ding…ding).
Incoming calls do not get trough too (Only busy tone).
When I switch off Bluetooth or network connection everything works fine again.
I searched this forum up and down, but found no answer.
Am I the only one or did somebody notice this bug too?
i found that i cannot use my phone at all if i restart my phone with BT and wifi on somtimes, removing the bt and wifi seems to fix it for me. strange eh?
i often get phone failed.
Its annoying. I am always afraid that I forget to switch off the Networkconnection after I have checked emails or was surfing in the internet.
Its the basic purpos of a phone to be reachable.
Am I the only one with this problem? Is something wrong with my phone?
Sorry to poll this.
But nobody else has noticed this?
Hey folks,
Am I the only one with this bug ?
Really need help for this problem
I forgot to post that my problem has gone.
It definitly was a network problem caused by my networkprovider "One Austria" (now Orange).
After a long call with the technical support they changed some of their serversettings
and wow this problem is gone.
Never happened again (since 6 month)
Hope this helps someone
hey,
i'm using a htc artemis (o2 xda orbit) with windows mobile 6. there's a problem with the gprs-connection that really makes me mad. when i use the phone-attitutes gprs is disconnected automatically.
i'm booked 30 megabytes per month, per gprs-connection i loose 100 kilobytes. so i am very interested in keeping the gprs-connection stable for 24 hours.
can anyone tell me how i can force gprs NOT to disconnect? i'm thankful for any hint
There is no way to do that. You can either be on Data or on call. No way to do it together
my xdaII never had any problems running both data and call
it's typicaly an issue with old equipment of the operator rather then a phone issue
I have the same problem with hermes. I read in one of the threads that it is not possible. Here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363787
please read through it, and it would give you more idea about why GPRS/EDGE would not work while you are on call. Correct me if I am wrong.
Alright, so i'm not the only one having this problem.
I wonder if the device or windows mobile causes the disconnection. In my opinion "usual" mobile phones are able to both connect to gsm an gprs. So, is it a problem of windows mobile, the network provider or the orbit?
Thanks for your replys!
I think i got the resolution: the gprs-connection remains stable in case of not using the hardware-buttons to answer incoming calls! Use the software-keys of windows mobile, displayed on your touchscreen! You'll see, after answering an incoming call, gprs is still active. I think that should work on other devices also.
will test and get back. good to know
