Hello,
usually with newer PDAs - that originally come with WM5/6 - you can turn them off completely (makes sense during the night for example).
Is this possible with BlueAngel - upgraded with WM5/6 (Helmi) somehow ?
thank you.
no you cant turn them off 100%
windows mobile was made to keep running
no matter what to keep the clock running
to keep notifications being able to start and play their alarm
and to turn on to let calls come in

It makes sense to stop PDA completely if you are using it just for word, excel or as a music player, but if you are using it as a phone, clock and alarm unit, instant emails, then you cant turn it off completely though it can go to Power Save mode.
Turn down the volume, turn on flightmode and put into standby. Of course, alerts and notifications can still occur (That's the point!) but they won't bother you.
There's no actual need to turn it off completely.
hello,
i would like to turn off completely since
- every time when a notification comes up - the screen turns on - and sometimes it happens that i hit the screen or a button in the pocket ...
- i'd like to save battery
but i guess that's not pissible ?
thank you.
Yes, it is possible, but not the way you would like it: Take the battery out for a second, and then put it back. Device won't turn itself on. So far this is the only method. This device was never meant to be used with WM5/6, that's why it does not support many of the required features of this OS.
Hello,
i like the idea with the akku. but one more thing: what about the internal backup- akku ?
when i take the (normal) akku out - and put it back in - does the device run on the backup-battery until i turn the device on - or does it recognize immediately the (normal) akku is there, and uses it ?
you know, or do i have to try ?
thank you very much.
andreas
Take the battery out to save battery life - you'll lose some settings (namely the clock) but nothing major. Though the standby life is good.
Also, lock the device and tell it not to allow any other button pushed when locked. Should do the trick

As others said - turn all radio off in the comm manager. then just lock the screen (on to today screen, tap on "Device unlocked"). Now, even if the device comes on, there's no problem. And battery consumption is minimal, I think. Oh, and change "Start-Settings-Buttons-Lock" to "Lock all buttons expect power button".

Hello, I got my new device on the 3rd Jan so it's still relatively new and vanilla. I have had a look here through FAQs and searched the X1 forum to no avail. I hope these are not too difficult to answer, many thanks for any advice
1. Freezing:
When I make a call the touch screen no longer takes touch inputs, it does display the call time etc. I have to end the call with the soft button then the screen comes back to life
Also, when I run Windows Media Player and start playing a track the same behaviour occurs and I timed a 2 minute delay before I could use the screen to do anything.
I am not running anything in the background when this happens
All I have installed on top of the new phone (<1 week old) is a torchbutton tool and a battery monitor (although his happened way before the battery monitor was installed)
2. Auto disconnect from 3G etc:
When I set my phone to auto check email for me I didn't realise it would leave the 3G connection running. I can't find anywhere to set this and have it shut down the connection when done. I am not worried about cost (much) but I do want to preserve battery lif.
3. GPS way off:
everytime I try the Vodafone tracker or google maps it never pinpoints my location accurately. I don't want this directing me into a river or car crushers at a scrap yard...
Any ideas?
I don't know about the other two questions but as for number 1) I'd say it's a fault with your device as i haven't heard of the problem before and i have no such issue with my Xperia. Maybe someone can help you...
Question 2
It seems by default you have to disconnect in Comm Manager.
Actually it's great it does not disconnect after every action, it would be hell to check 3 or 4 email accounts and connect each time (I had it on my other smartphone...)
OK I can live with the disconnecting thing, I'll just have to keep an eye on it and the battery usage.
I found something interesting with the media player freezing issue though, if I use the button on the side to adjust volume the screen become available in the volume slider and then the problem goes away, rather random but again - livable if this fix works every time (which it doesn't) I have noticed it seems to be the same tracks that cause this - is it the file size?
Still stumped for the screen freeze during calls though - fix that and I will sing your praises for at least a week and a half
OK The device got replaced... then broke again - ran out of power then wouldn't take a charge
Came back from repair (they wouldn't replace after the 14 days grrr damn vodafone)
Now it has new software on it (spb mobile shell and some random games)
I setup the stuff I like such as the Soft Buttons set to Rotate screen and bring up the Today screen
Now when on the X panel or any of the panels and Opera the Today button refuses to work
It is fine in IE or File Explorer
I am so sick of this damn thing getting so close to being useable and then dropping out on me
Any ideas before I have to go back to the shop and they send it away AGAIN?
Hi Folks,
Since few days I'm facing an issue which is totally odd. The first days I've got my device all was fine and wlan worked perfectly. During those days I've installed few softwares and some usefull tweaks (e.g LED tweaks, animation on start screen, etc.) BUT also the Wireless N among others. I've changes some look and feels and have applied some cabs to do some parts of the home transparent....
Now if I am on connection manager and set wireless to ON, nothing happens. The 2nd screen usually listing the available connections is totally empty and the wlan icon doesn't appear. On the other side the whole device begins to go into the knees. Sence is not more fluenet at all and some apps like sms , email take ages to load and and and ...
It needs ages to wake up when I push any of the buttons. It seems to me that something in background slowdowns everything....
No It happens regardless of wheter now the wireless n is ON or OFF..
I have done a lot of soft resets.
Any ideas ?
Cheers,
LEE
Hello:
Since day one of installing this radio - it's had an odd crash issue.
While I don't drive it every day - it seems to "crash" and go dark (back light seems to be on...) and loss of ALL HVAC controls. As this radio replaced any physical buttons.
Sony Sync 3 brain seems untouched and can be accessed via the secondary dash screen. Sync nav works too.
Seems to happen approx every 90 minutes - almost like clock work - I can tell as my commute is routine - and it crashes approx the same location in my commute.
Sony Sync 3 seems untouched - which makes sense - but the screen is unresponsive - but backlight can be seen bleeding through.
RESET pin hole has NEVER responded - 20 seconds, 5 seconds, 40 seconds - it does nothing.
The only way to get the screen to recover - is to power off the vehicle - exit (to make sure power is off) and let it sit 15min.
90min later - it does it again.
FACTORY reset has never worked - it just reboots. a Few times it rebooted and never came back on - basically a crash like about - had to follow same routine to get it back.
Many different MCU updates tried.
Mainly use CarPlay - but switch to the Sync 3 screen at times to run some settings.
ALL HVAC settings are unavailable - seat warmers, coolers, everything. As this unit replaces physical buttons of the Stock SONY Sync 3
Vehicle is a hybrid - but each time this happened - vehicle was under highway load - using engine power - not EV.
User settings do not indicate any "sleep mode" options - screen keep alive - not lock are set correctly. Phoenix verified this.
Thoughts?
is there a way to view event logs? sys logs?
I have 2 other Android head units (non Phoenix) - and never had soooo many issues.
Thoughts? Most recent MCU version info attached - this was updated 24 hours ago - nothing changed.

UPDATE 03/03/2021 - Chris had me Format the unit - Android 9 - reconfigure everything again - basically Factory fresh. The problem repeated itself again, in the same time and manner. Stumped.
Exchange (and security deposit for this) has been requested - but I'm not convinced that will work.
