2. name it SatGPRS for an example
3. tap the modem tab and tap new
4. enter SatGPRS as name for an example, Select A Modem : Cellular Line (GPRS), Baud Rate : anything u want
5. tap advanced and tap the name servers tab, enter 202.152.162.66 as the primary dns
6. tap ok at the top right and tap next, enter satelindogprs.com as the access point name
7. tap finish

Hi, first post, please be gentle
I have an o2 XDA Mini S which I have reflashed with the latest T-Mobile UK rom as I'm using a T-mobile UK sim. I've bought a bluetooth GPS device which should arrive tomorrow morning and reading through the forums it seems I will need to set an outgoing com port for this to work with my tomtom 5.21 software. However, I do not have the option of creating an outgoing com port. There is only an option to create a new incoming port. Will this option appear after I have paired the devices? Or do I need to do something else to make this option appear?
thanks
ROM version: 2.26.10.2 WWE
ROM Date: 6/7/06
Radio version: 02.25.11
Protocol version: 4.1.13.12
ExtRom version: 2.26.10.105
i also just got a vario and have updated it to the latest ROM version 2.21 which I got from here:
http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/download_manager_mda_vario.html
Haven't heard about the later 2.26 u have got. May I ask where you got it from?
Cheers
PS. sorry can't answer ur question(yet!)
Check this forum for upgrades http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewforum.php?f=40
Im having a similar problem... I have set my bluetooth on my phone to COM Port 7 and created a partnership with my computer. Yet when I try and connect through activesync it still isnt working?! Do I need to configure a port on my computer ?
OP: To set a new outgoing bluetooth com port;
Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> COM Ports -> New Outgoing Port
Then select the devie you want to add (you already need to have your GPS device turned on), and go from there through the steps. Good luck 8)
That's the key...you have to have the device paired to the pda in order to set up a com port for it.
Ive linked mine up together and can use my bluetooth software to share them but I cant use activesync to sync them?
I was reading somewhere about Bluetooth Support on my computers control panel yet I dont have this? Im working on Windoxs XP SP 2 aswell

If you are using AS 3.8 or higher, you can not do blutooth sync! It does not surport it!
No way?! I think Im on the latest version...
But it must support it as its in its help files.
It tell sme to open up the control panel and open bluetooth support. then select a COM port

The MDA (T-MO USA) most certainly does support BT activesync!
1. Pair with the host computer.
2. Under services "ActiveSync" should be an option. Check it.
* If it doesn't show, you may need to do some setup on your computer to make that service available.
3. Go to ActiveSync.
4. Under Menu, select "Connect via Bluetooth"
5. You should be in!
Note for Mac users: Use Missing Sync by MarkSpace, which includes this capability.

2.26 can be obtained from molski.biz and its stripped down, it has no carrier customizations
Hi all,
Can't find the mms settings I need having done a corporate install.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks.
you need to run MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA5XX-VOICE-051228.CAB from the exteneded rom, you may need to use total commander to get to those files.

You can get the extended rom off this site. In http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtendedRoms there is a link to the Cingular ROM ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Extended_ROMs/Cingular_8525_1.30.502.1_ExtROM_WWE.zip
. Download it, open, copy the MMS config to your device and click on it

I did search but couldn't find it. Trust me in my line of work I don't do wasting time!
Does the extended ROM do anything other than give me MMS settings? i.e do i need to backup before downloading/will I lose any settings by downloading?
I just downloaded it to my PC, is this the file I need to copy... 'MT_shortcut-mms-hermes'
I really do appreciate the help and patience!!!
Thanks
Matt
Because I hate all the crap in the extended ROM, I created the CAB file I've attached.
The only thing is the MMS never shows up in the first menu, you have to go under options to get to the MMS settings.
thanks, got that downloaded. I have installed the cab file but I still can't send or receive MMS.
Any ideas
Ah ****.. My fault.. That was for Cingular settings.. I think I posted that in the wrong thread.. Oops..
Sorry about that. You'll need the settings for your carrier. But, the MMS folder at least will show up for you now.
If that's the case that is why O2 give you the option of doing the "Basic" install.
You then get all the GPRS settings and the MMS app and it only takes 2 minutes to remove the remaining O2 stuff from Add/Remove programs and \Windows\Startup

MMS CAB for XDA Exec
May I suggest and ask for someone to post a copy of the MMS CAB that doesn't get installed with a corporate installation. My ROM version which I believe is the latest is:
ROM version: 1.30.107 WWE
ROM date: 04/11/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: 1.20.162 WWE

I realise that, and at first I did do a basic install but then found that the corporate install did make things a bit less sluggish.
if anyone has got the MMS settings for the O2 XDA Mini s that they can post then I will be very grateful.
Matt
p.s. just a (crazy) thought, can O2 send me the settings?

Mmm... downloaded that with no problems and still can't send/receive mms messages! Am I missing something obvious here?
Matt
MMS settings
Could this problem be 2 stage. i.e. the CAB (above) is needed to install an MMS composer that integrates with Pocket Outlook and then the MMS settings which i think can be installed from the excellent O2_Exec_Connections_Only.CAB (I don't know if this compatible with the Mini S )or similar.
Does anyone know if the CAB above is the right one for the O2 XDA Exec (latest ROM)?
Anyone any further ideas? Still stuck in MMS limbo!
OK update...
delved into my mms configuration settings and they read like this;
Server name : O2UK
Gateway: 193.113.200.195
Port Number: 9201
Server Address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect via: My work network
WAP Version: 1.2
Still can't send or receive. When I did the corporate install I followed the settings laid out by 'meansizzler on the AV Forums. All the other settings work fine just not the mms.
Puzzled.
Matt.

the cab file I posted is from the UK O2 mini s (rom version 2.21.4.1 WWE)
I have read that you may need the GPRS and wap setting configuring for the opperator for it to work. (dont have those settings handy at the moment tho)
Try installing the above cab on a clean restart, and to the device not storage card. Seems to have worked for me.

By 'clean restart' do you mean hard reset? If so is it best to install the cab file before using spb backup to reinstall everything else?
Matt.
I hate hard resets, especially now I have so much stuff on my device (including tomtom 5.21) and my mate told me the other day that he did a reset and spb backup failed him! i.e it didn't! backup that is!
Is there ne way by the reg. to hide my CLIR (no. sending to other device while calling or display my no. as a private no.) ?
Try: start/settings/personal tab/ phone/services tab/caller ID/get settings
you will get 3 options:"provide my caller id to: everyone, no one or only to contacts"
cheers!

I too think so but is there ne reg hack or tool by which i can unblock this feature myself as there is a reg file named as CLIR & i have tried changing values also but still no luck .
This setting is moderated and effected by your operator, not your phone. These are standard phone settings on all phones, but if your operator has disabled it, c'est la vie.

Thanks for the reply to all u senior members now i think i shld stop searching on this topic .
Hi All,
This is a continuation of this thread. It is now possible to send SMS over IP with VoIP operators that support SMS gateway using SIP messages (mainly betamax companies like 12voip, voipraider, voipbuster, poivy, ...). No special gui is needed, you can just use the regular HTC Messaging.
This involves replacement of the sms.dll system file, so USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
Installation:
1- Install the attached cab file on the device or the storage card and confirm reset when finished
2- After reset run SMSoIP Config before sending any sms
3- Fill in the parameters as follows:
SIP Server: SIP server address (eg: sip.voipraider.com, sip.smartvoip.com, ...)
Username: <your username>
Password: <your password>
Caller ID: <your phone number verified with your voip provider> This is required for the receiving party to see your number
Country Code: <international tel code of your country> This is required if you have numbers not stored in international format, also to detect if the destination is international or not. (eg: 90 for Turkey, 32 for Belgium, ...) Note: If you have the latest HTC messaging in your rom, you need to use +90 or +32, ...
Option: Choose the behavior you want
Auto Connect: Enable if you want auto data connection. This might result in additional charges with your gsm provider
Enable Debug: Enable debug popups if you have problems
Note: For people who have the latest HTC messaging
v1_8_20161228_00, you need to select CDMA as Sending network in messaging options for some reason
4- Enjoy

Just uninstall the old one, install the new one, reboot and configure.
Can this be used on 6.5.x roms ?
does it allow an option of sending method ? carrier sms or voipsms ?
Great idea ...
This is posted under "Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General", but the post talks only about HTC messaging. Does this mean that the hack won't work on any other devices, like for example Samsung Omnia?

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I used to use this with a 6.5.x ROM that didn't have Sense nor the HTC Messaging. Either way I think it should be safe to just backup your sms.dll (maybe the program even does this for you, I don't really remember that) and try this. I don't have my Winmo phone to check anymore, sorry.

i apologize if this is a repeated question, but i have looked everywhere and not found an answer, so please help.
I have htc hd2, OS version: 5.2.21869
Manilla version: 2.5.20121429.0
ROM version: 1.72.206.3
Radio version: 2.12.50.02_2
i have had android, SuperRAM FroYo v1 by darkstone1337 on my HD2 for around a week, and the internet, (GPRS/3G) will not function properly. i have tried numerous internet settings with no luck... I am on O2 UK, pay as you go, but get free internet with every top-up.
If anyone has any ideas to what has gone wrong then PLEASE give me your advice.
Thanks very much, harry.
Try to change net.ppp0.dns1 and net.ppp0.dns2 in root/system/build.prop with your wireless provider dns setting if you don't know search it in google but first you must have apn setting in menu/setting/wireless & network/mobile networks/Access Point Names if you dont know you can google it,,,,,,
i have same problem with you but when i change dns1 and dns2 with my wireless provider dns setting it work fine and no data drop,,,,,
for example my wireless provider dns setting is:
net.ppp0.dns1=114.127.208.84
net.ppp0.dns2=202.3.208.11
if still not work you must delete all dns line in build.prop except : net.ppp0.dns1 and net.ppp0.dns2
sometimes there are any dns line in build.prop
Sorry for my bad english,,,,,,,Good Luck
