Problem with SDIO on 1.66 Devices - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Does anyone else have the same problem of my SDIO devices wanting to use COM4 but the new bluetooth implementation seems to muck this up? For example, Ostia completely exits out when I try to initialize my SDIO GPS unit on COM4. My Sandisk Wi-Fi card isn't even recognized when I insert it. Any work around as downgrading to 1.52 is not an option on my new I-Mate.

Problem with QTEK 202 and GPS BT EMTAC

I have problems of loose of connection between my qtek 202 and my GPS BT EMTAC antenna.
I upgraded the rom of my PPC to 1.7202FRA
Any solution?
Have the same issue here!
But I don't loose the connection all the time. And it doesn't matter in my case whether I choose for TomTom wireless GPS, Emtac Wireless GPS or NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth.
Haven't tried it yet with 3.03 or 3.07 of TT3 GPS driver.
Regards,
Mark
I got no problems with that
How do you know the connection is lost?
Could it be the know issue of asking a too big data throuput from the SD card (where obviously your maps & poi files are stored)?
If this is the case the isue occurs when eg. your speed is getting over a certain 'threshold'. This thresholp is determined bu the data-throuput capabilities of the SD-card (higher speed = more data/sec because of map movements).
Especially with the Himalaya the data-throughput of the SD-slot is limited. Some SD-Cards have more issues than others. Both my Kingston 256MB and my SanDisk 512MB make TTN3 freeze when the data-stream reaches the limit.
I know it is the data-throughput: Start TomTom GPS and to a testdrive. It will keep working, so nothing wrong with the BT connection.
Work-around:
1. limit the data-stream by unchecking all POI
OR
2. put your maps & poi in storage memory (limited by size!!)
There are some threads on this both here as on www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk
Many thanks for your answer.
I have only 2 poi checked.
Do you mean that i have to store the maps on a 256 mb storage card and not a 512 one
Sometimes the blue LED on my Holux starts flashing as it does when he doesn't find a PDA to connect to. TT continues but the data he thinks is receiving in incorrect.
What I do is : uncheck the box on the gps window (the one next to "Bluetooth gps" or "NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth"), check it again and the connection is restored.
Gringo,
you can download BTHTOOLS1100.zip from :
http://www.bluetooth.jazztel.es/BTHTools1100.zip and install it
i've used i-mate rom172 + emtac bt gps for more than 7 months, and initially had the same problem, but then somewhere in this forum i found a thread mentioning about this and this solution (using bthtools) was adviced .
i'm now using xdaIIs and having no problem at all in connecting with the emtac bt gps.
hope it can help you

Jasjar with TomTom 6 and Holox 321 BT GPS

Hi All
I have the above setup and am having a nightmare trying to get the bluetooth GPS to work. I have tried every setting I can find and even upgraded the ROM to 1.90.96 to see if that helped but still no joy. Basically whichever COM port I assign 0,4,5 or 8 (the only options allowed) it shows up in the "Other Bluetooth GPS receiver" catergory in TT6 but it will not connect. I have also noticed that the only time the BT LED on the Holox device flashes is during the initial pairing with the jasjar, before the device default password "0000" is added. Once this function has been completed tthe light remains solid and tt6 does not recieve the gps signal.
I know the Holox unit and the TT6 is working fine as I have tried it on an old HP 1940 with wm2003 and it works perfectly.
Has anyone got any ideas, suggestions or experienced the same problems
When you set up the Pairing with the GPS receiver use COM0 and select the serial port. Once this is done, set up a new outgoing COM port and make sure that the "Enable secure connection" box IS NOT checked. My Exec never works with any BT GPS receivers if this box is checked.
Then in Tomtom set use other BT GPS receiver and select COM0.
Pug.
Hi Pug
No joy I'm afraid. Have tried this more times than i care to mention but TT^ will not recognise the gps device.
Sounds like a problem with your BT stack then. If it worked on your other device then it's obviously a problem with the Uni. Seen as this isn't a common problem, might be some problem with your setup. Thinking about it now, Tomtom overwrites some BT files during install, as you seem to be using an AKU3.2 ROM which will have updated BT stack, try deleting these from the windows folder.
ttn6bt2003.dll
BtCoreIf.dll
BtSdkCE30.dll
If it doesn't work, you can always re-install TT6

Still No joy with Jasjar, Holox BT-321 GPS & Tomtom 6
Hi All
I've tried all fixes for the above problem suggested by pug and mavrik64 earlier on this thread but without success. This is a little frustrating to say the least. The Jasjar has had clean install with nothing loaded other than the default programs included with the latest ROM build 1.90.96 from Jwrightmcps, the UK 'O2' setup and TomTom 6. As I know the software and Holox unit work fine on my old HP1940 running on wm2003, I'm convinced it is something in WM5 that is giving me the problem. I have read other forums were other people appear to have similar problems.
Please note; the main reason I flashed the ROM from that previously installed 1.30.76 was to try and find a fix for this problem. The older version gave me exactly the same problem.
Anyone got any ideas
I am using Ivans Beta 15 and no problems, try flashing with that.
You have a new PM in a few moments as well.

Any idea where I can get hold of a copy of Ian's Beta 15 ROM. I've trawled round this site but can't seem to locate it

Sorry to hear this didn't work. I am using JCs current rom with TT6 and Holux GPSlim 236 and it works like a charm.
Good luck

External GPS

Troubleshouting External GPS
I'm having some trouble with connection to my external GPS (ADAPT 300).
When using the GPS directly after connect (Com 6) it works fine..
but when I want to use it after sometime.. after starting TomTom (or other Applicaton using GPS) my GPS wants to (re)connect..
This is pretty annoying since I have to do the connection process all over again.. (pin, setting outgoing com)
Any suggestions.. is this WM6 related (I noticed similar when using WM6 on my i-Mate JAmin)
Regards
Yesterday, I had also problem configuring the BT-338 external GPS.
But then it was working fine.
I use TomTom 6.010 btw, and I dont think TomTom use the external GPS setting.
At first, I fiddled around with the external GPS without success.
Then I realized that I must create an OUTPUT COMPORT in the BT settings!
So, I set that and voila, it works.
However, the comport that I set is different compared to the one that I set in the External GPS -> hardware ... But TomTom still works.
TomTom set to use Other BT GPS at com port 6 [ saved ]
External GPS:
- Software com port set to 9
- Hardware com port set to 5
BT settings:
- Output com port set to 5
i-Blue747
I replaced my Adapt AD300 with a i-Blue747 GPS Logger.
Problem is solved, reconnecting works fine now.
Since the problem occurred on 2 different Devices running WM6, my conclusion is that the ADAPT AD 300 is not compatible with WM6.
1st was iMate JAMin with the WM6 PDA Viet 4.0.0.6 Touch Rom
2nd was the HTC Dual

GPS port conflict after Bepe's 0.67 upgrade

First of all, thank you Bepe for a wonderful achievement.
I've upgraded yesterday, everything is much smoother and faster than before but i have one problem: GPS receiver is malfuntioning. Seems My Mio GPS software hangs each time it detects the GPS antenna while it didn't before.
Has the new ROM upgraded the radio as well? is fo is is possible to go back to old radio? Will it erase everyhting on my Touch ?
Thank you
Not sure it's due to bepe's rom, cause I'm having exactly the same problem with the original rom... the app freeze everytime the antenna is detected. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong but I'm stuck at this for days now :-(
If you uncheck in the settings for external gps the box to let the device automatically manage the gps, then it's not freezing anymore... but Igo doesn't detect the gps antenna neither so...
I tried different com port, diferent bauds... with tomtom port 4 bauds 4800 worked perfectly... but with Igo ??
Anyone have had this problem?
After unchecking the settings for external gps the box to let the device automatically manage the gps, i get " GPS could not be found" error.
anyone knows how to fix that ?
I have the same problem with Igo and the original french HTC rom
with MioMap3.2 I manually set the GPS port (in MioMap) to use COM 4 and it works for me. On the Start Menu->Settings->System->External GPS, my GPS Program Port is set to COM4 and Hardware port is set to None. I let Windows Manage GPS automatically.
GPS receiver driver ?
Are there any drivers for the GPS receiver or has the radio version something to do about the fact the GPS won't work properly with Bepe's .67 opera version ?
