Problem with SDIO on 1.66 Devices

Does anyone else have the same problem of my SDIO devices wanting to use COM4 but the new bluetooth implementation seems to muck this up? For example, Ostia completely exits out when I try to initialize my SDIO GPS unit on COM4. My Sandisk Wi-Fi card isn't even recognized when I insert it. Any work around as downgrading to 1.52 is not an option on my new I-Mate.

GPS: bluetooth or SDIO connection?

I saw GPS SDIO.
I'd like to buy but i dont know if really nice.
Someone has tried this GPS SDIO??
Which is more convenient receiver GPS (easy to work; battery life; etc.):
1) bluetooth
or
2) SDIO
Thanks.
ciao
You also lose ability for extra memory when using sdio gps, so no good for tomtom.
1. maps take alot of memory so Bluetooth is the best, you'll get the sd open for memory card.
2. You can strap the bluetooth receiver to a backpack strap so it keeps a constant lock
3. bluetooth can go on dash for good reception and xda in the back seat for the navigator

TOMTOM 5 on XDA EXEC

I have tomtom 5 working on my XDA EXEC NO need to mess about with gps settings.
I just installed tomtom 5 from cabs added to SD card then update to 5.1 in the same way & it found tomtom bluetooth GPS reciver without touching the bluetooth settings.

More info that may help.
This SD card was origanally used in my ipaq 2110 but tomtom was installed to device memory not the SD card.
Hope this helps.

i have no problem either even considering i'm using an alternative bluetooth gps and the settings in Control Panel (GPS on COM8 shared on COM6).
More important is tat you have to use the 5.1 and I'm using the PLUS maps because I'm travelling abroad.

Tom Tom MAPS

So does anyone have TOM TOM maps loaded on a SD card to use as GPS instead of having to connect to a GPS unit with their WING?
I saw a guy once who had the whole Tom Tom setup on his MDA and had all the maps loaded on his mem card to access them.
Any thoughts guys?
I´m not sure what you are going after here but if you have the TomTom dvd it will install maps to your SD card and you can access them without having a GPS unit, and plan routes. You cannot however use it to navigate in realtime since the Wing doesn´t have built-in GPS reciever. For that to work you wold need a bluetooth GPS receiver.
