unable to access the SD card with windows - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

hallo,
i have a problem to access the SD card with windows xp through the cardreader. the Qtek 2020 recognizes the card normally. any idea to repair the card ?
regards and thanks for help

There must be something wrong with your USB card reader drivers. Try to get the latest drivers from the net.
What is your file system type??? FAT32 / FAT 16 FAT 12 ???

ps: I have tried Pocket Mechenic..but the problem still remains.
Try this!
hello. If you are trying to format your sd card with window xp or windows XX. you will never use your sd card in any camera, pocket pc, palm again.
If your computer can not format your sd card, there are 2 possibilities:
1. Your memory chip is damaged
2. You can try to creat boot image using XDA tool and put it in to your XDA. Finally create a boot image. Now. Romve the sd card and plug it in the XDA again, your XDA will ask you to format it. IF not, your memory chip is damaged. Good luck!
i had issues with not being able to format my sd card under winXP
but i could format it with pocket mechanics just fine dident need to format from the bootloader at all

Thanks but that's not what I means.
In my case, when I format the SD card (quick format) by the laptop, it works with only the laptop. When I format the SD card (quick format) by my pocket PC, it works with only my pocket PC.
The SD card works pretty well separately on each device.
The 2 devices cannot use the same fomarted SD card.
That's the problem.
use pocket mechanics to see what the xda format the sd card to fat32 fat16 or ???
see what the laptop format the card to fat32 or fat16 or NTFS
the xda cant real ntfs at all
and some sd readers have problems with fat16 or 32 i forget

hi, i already watched this topic but my PC doesn't recognize
the wallaby by activesync and neither the xda tools is able to write on the sd card.
yesterday i read the sd only using xdarit but - strange
to say - that same program wasn't able to write on these sd!
May be the sd reader is usb 2.0 or the sd is locked because has already been written???

Imate Jamin and 4 gb SD Card issues...

I've just purchased a 4 gb SD card thru ebay, which works fine with my PC, but my Jamin (I've got the latest ROM installed) does not seem to recognize it, wont even show up in file explorer. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks...
I have an 4Gb that work fine with my JAMin but not work fine in my USB Card Reader. Sorry.
Try to reformat the SD card on the PC. I have a-data 4gb, works like a charm, after formating on PC.
Just tried to reformat, but now my pc does not recognize the card...shows an sd card in "my computer", but will not open. Any other thoughts, or did I Just get a bad card?
Thanks again!
Well if it shows up on my computer, but does not open, you should still be able to format it. Right-click and format again using FAT32 full format.
Beyond that I really do not know what could be the issue.
If you have an SD card reader, insert it into your pc and insert the 4Gb SD card.
Then reboot your pc unto the Windows XP setup cd, and choose to install Windows XP on the SD card (should be recognisable). Create a 4Gb (full) FAT32 partition on the SD card. Then just reset to get out, boot normally, and format from Windows.
I found that this method works everytime.

*(&#^$*& up my Storage Card?

I was just doing a format with Pocket Mechanics latest version cause I wanted to format my SD card from FAT16 to FAT32. But in the middle of the formatting My Universal hanged. Now, after a restart, my Universal cannot find my Storage Card at all anymore! Now what?
I'd try and install WM5torage
http://www.modaco.com/content/Smartphone-Software-Freeware-Download-Discussion/238545/WM5torage/
Activate it, then plug in your USB cable and hope Windows recognizes your card, then format through windows.
You might try the Panasonic SDFormatter program. It has recovered some of my cards where operating system or 3rd-party utilities made them unreadable.

Perhaps try putting into a USB card reader or SD card adapter, then try seeing if the computer recognizes it.

Yeah get yourself a SD card adaptor to put your SD card in and then put it in the SD card slot on your computer, or if you do not have one get a USB SD card reader to put the adaptor in. They will run you something like 8 to 10th dollars USD for both to get them.
Also your card is like this bot because you erased the MBR on your SD card. It is because on the first boot of WP7 it formats your memory card with a RAID format so it can use your SD card as internal memory. You have to do a low level format of the card to remove it. Once the low level format is done you will have to do a full format of it again with Fat32
This is for others that well read this, if you flash a WP7 ROM and it boots up but you so not like it or it does not work right. Do not, I repeat do not try flashing the ROM again or try flashing another WP7 ROM before doin the low level format and then a Fat32 format on your SD card. If you do you will probably end up with a trashed SD card.
Thanks i will try that..
No, i cant do nothing... i try with a external sdcard reader over usb and the sdformater just stops working when i start or do a refresh. i try with others sd cards and the new sdcard reader works good...
Any more ideas?
