Just wondering, if there´s any way to dim down the bgnd light more smooth.
-i am using my mdaII for reading in bed, so the background light is to bright!

I'm not sure what you mean by "more smooth", but this is easily accomplished by Start -> Settings -> System -> Backlight -> Brightness and then using the sliders to adjust the brightness while on battery and while plugged-in.
You will most likely want to visit the "Battery Power" tab of that control panel and de-select "Turn off backlight . . ." AND "Turn on backlight . . ." so it maintains the backlight setting you desire as you scroll through your reading.
HTH
sorry for my bad english
i do use the "Battery Power" tab of control panel to dim the light down, but i do need more steps to dim the light -it is too bright in the first selectable step

Wear sunglasses.
use the spray on tail light tint. right on the screen.
You can't add more level
But put à tinted film could be à good idea
Tu ne peux pas ajouter plus de niveau de contraste que ceux qui sont dans les paramètres à moins de trouver la dll qui contrôle ca mais ca risque d'etre très compliqué
Met in film teinté sur l'écran le soir

Hi,
how can I set the DeviceLock application to lock my device after I turn it in standby mode? Some time ago I saw , in a WM5 rom, the DeviceLock item in the settings menu... Now i can't see it anymore in my WM6 PDAVIET rom.
There's a way to show this item? Thank you,

Bye,

OK guys, I emailed HTC about the LED and apparently it is a tri-colour LED
Dear XXX,
Thank you for contacting HTC.
Yes,it is a tri-color LED.
We don't support any software that directly controls it.
To send a reply to this message or let me know I have successfully answered your question log in to our ContactUs site using your email address and your ticket number XXXX.

The aim of this being to get our LED to actual output any colour on the spectrum. The LED is capable of it, its just figuring out how to do it. The Desire Classic has the same LED yet they have Blue as one of their colours so we know its possible
Perhaps someone can try this within an app. See what we can get
To define your own color and pattern, define a value for the ledARGB field (for the color), the ledOffMS field (length of time, in milliseconds, to keep the light off), the ledOnMS (length of time, in milliseconds, to keep the light on), and also add "FLAG_SHOW_LIGHTS" to the flags field:
notification.ledARGB = 0xff00ff00;
notification.ledOnMS = 300;
notification.ledOffMS = 1000;
notification.flags |= Notification.FLAG_SHOW_LIGHTS;

Really? Maybe I did not pay enough attention, but I think I didn't see red on the DHD.
The directory /sys/class/leds has these sub-directories/symlinks:
amber
button-backlight
flashlight
green
keyboard-backlight
lcd-backlight
You can write a number to the brightness files therein, like
echo 1 >/sys/class/leds/amber/brightness
echo 1 >/sys/class/leds/green/brightness
Amber and green together is a bit more yellowish than amber alone.

What is the aim? To get different colours for different events? e.g flash green on new email, amber on new call etc, or something else?
A while ago, someone mentioned a second led, next to the proximity/light-sensor. He also made a pic of it, it was definately there. Maybe you could try to incorporate that led in this project as well.

Updated the first post
A tri colour LED does not mean it is capable of full spectrum colour.
It means the LED unit has 3 Diodes, each a different colour (probably tied to a common ground). To be able to reproduce all (most) colours the 3 LEDs need to be Red, Green and Blue.
In this instance however, it seems like the 3 colours are Red, Orange and Green.
The hardware controller likely is not capable of adjusting the brightness to each individual diode.
The LED is the same as the one in the Desire Classic which can produce Blue
I did ask HTC for clarification and where to find the files to edit this. They just replied with "HTC does not offer development support" lol
Definitely?
That is good news if its true

thats wrong..it was the proximity sensor itself. digital cameras are able to make infrared rays visible (normally white).
take your dhd, go into camera, place your tv remote in front of it and press some buttons. you should see a white "dot" on your dhd screen.

Even though this would be a clever explanation, that isn't the case. I found the video I was reffering to, here it is.
OK
HTC are being idiots. They won't tell me if a the Tri-Color LED consists of RGB or not, even though I said im trying to develop a LED notifier.
Can someone else please try and ask them. Don't think they liked me ever since I asked about the system files lol
yeah there was a discussion some days ago..
it's definitely the proximity sensor!

that's what i usually do to check controllers, and everyone wonders if i'm crazy
one idea can be to disable the LED support for PM8053 and see if the notification LED is still working.
If this shows that the notification LED is driven by the PM8053, you can put some printk into the leds-pm8058.c file to see if the RGB mode is used.
...

That is probably either the proximity sensor or the light sensor (the one that adjusts auto brightness).
Edit: After some extensive testing using the finger-over-sensor-test, I have concluded that the light from the video is coming from the proximity sensor and that the other sensor (the rightmost one) is the brightness sensor.
I really don't believe that it is another LED.

Anyone got the problem of no notification led light. The only time I see the light is when it's on charge, when I go to the notification settings the option is missing as per Google search. Edited not my phone, sorted it.
ciao hai risolto il problema?xche' io ho lo stesso problema...se hai risolto mi dai info....
So guys yesterday I turned off and then on the option "MIUI Optimization" in developer settings. After doing that the font and icon size increased drastically so I had to go in screen settings to lower the font sizer and then on accessibility settings I dropped the screen/icons size.
After doing that I immediately noticed even though the settings were as they always have been it looked like the letters and icons were tinier. Which bothers me.
I think this is a bug that happens when you do what I did. And yes I've already attempted a factory reset to no avail.
Here's an image showcasing what the problem is. If I'm not mistaken before doing all this, the Three dot menu was located on the far right of the phone screen and not in the middle like it is now, also some text is cut out.
P. S Don't mind the language, it's Portuguese.
Boas, não sei se ainda precisas de ajuda sendo que foi há um ano, mas:
Try enabling developer options, and scrolling down and increasing a number called "Smallest DPI Width"
That's what I use when my phones have the icons and text bigger than I like, it resizes everything on screen, and I'm pretty sure it maintains the ratios.
DISCLAIMER: this is a dangerous setting, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT type anything higher than 500 or you may brick your phone, trust me, been there. I have it at 470 right now and it's perfect.

Great news !
Do we have the option of a black back ground or dark mode ?
@typos1 Yes, day/night mode is also supported now, if supported by device then even automatic.
@realzoulou Thanks a lot for the new 2.0 version! I installed it on my head unit this afternoon and it's a welcome improvement in many aspects and running very stable so far. Great job!
I just would like to have back the vertical station list of v1.x or have it as a 2nd layout option, as it better suits the layout of the other players and the launcher on my head unit. Please consider re-implementing it.
Layout-wise the button for toggling favorites could be put in a different position, as it partly hides the RDS texts.
Thanks for the explaining videos too. Here the Start button for Service Following is grayed out, so I guess that SF is not available for the current station, correct? Or is there something I can do to activate it?
Also I would like to ask if the bug of the time shift files not being deleted automatically (thus filling the internal memory) has been fixed in 2.0.209, since you didn't mention this in the change log.
Had the chance to test the new version this morning and first overall impression is really positive.
Just had three first findings:
The station list contains several stations multiple times. Unfortunately I can't listen to the station in the activity to maintain the favorites. So it's hard to decide which is the one with good receiption:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In meantime I figured out that long press on the station list adds the station to the favorites.
The heart ♥ which indicates that the list of favorites gets displayed is nearly invisible:
Sometimes the heart (button to switch between favorites and full list) gets covered by station text info. Maybe there is a better place for the button to avoid overlapping.
Logo of popular station "ENERGY" not getting loaded. Even after re-downloading the logo gets not updated.
The indication which station is selected (changed font and bigger border) looks not so nice when it's the first station. But it's only my personal impression that it looks like a graphic glitch.
Not even a feature request, but just a question:
You never created a DAB widget for the home screen. Is that some (far in the future) option for this version?

I took quite some time to think about where to put the switch between full and favorites list.
On one hand side, I think this is not often used (at least I don't) and so should not be too dominant.
On other hand, if then needed it should be on the home screen, and near to the station list to make clear that this button belongs to it. The best what I could come up with was to sacrifice sometimes the text and overlay it.
In other words, I will keep it as is.

Yes, and I will never do. Apps like Ubiquity Music Widget do this already quite well and I see no benefit in developing a DAB-Z specific widget.

Actually it should be the other way round: The station's text should be overlay-ed by the button. See answer to okij above.

My ideas - but you're the UI expert:
I would...
- Replace the home button with the favorite/all toggle
- Move all the settings into settings to free some space
- Put play/stop control on the left side by using known icons
- Put the station name to the left
- Align the texts
- Make station buttons the same size.
Happy Easter!
Hi, I have mekede m700 s, I'm trying the dab z version, version 2.0 209, I noticed that it doesn't tune the 12D frequency and it crashes, while with the dab z version 1.9.26 no problem
Personally I preferred the old look and ability to customise text and logo size, with the new look I’m stuck with small active station logo and large text which is the opposite I had, also there seems to be no way now to see the detailed station info and signal details previously swipe left/right which I used to find useful for trouble shooting.
That said I’m sure I’ll get used to the new layout in time I just think the old version made most of the screen and mainly displayed what I was listing to with the logo / imported logo being the most prominent thing which kinda makes sense to me, that’s what I’m listening to that’s what I want to see.
That said above all thanks for continuing the great work it’s appreciated, I just hope my head keeps up with any future changes as the unit is starting to show its age now sadly.

Understandable. Maybe it's possible to get back the feature "long press on image to set it as station logo"?
I already strained your nerves with my UI suggestions. But finally I prefer the new layout with the horizontal station list (there must be a reason I only know OEM head units with a horizontal list.
Latest DAB-Z versions seems to be resource hungry. I see relatively long only a "pulsating" station list. Maybe it would make sense to scale down station logos during setup/scan process.
Sorry, you may call me blind. Where is the download link for latest Beta-Version 2.0.209 ?

Hello, I tested this new version but during the installation a message tells me that this application is incompatible with the resolution of my screen (1920x720).
After some adjustments I was able to obtain a fixed display (the screen flickered during the installation attempt).
The image display window is much too small, the associated text is illegible and it can no longer be modified with the zoom function (x1.5, x1.7, x2..)
On the other hand, the radio text display occupies too much of the screen
The list of horizontal stations no longer displays the channel or the name of the associated mux.
Let me explain, in France the following service is still not used and I have to scan all the stations of the same program during a trip to manually juggle between the different channels of the same program. With the previous version, it was easy, the name of the mux and the city or the associated region was displayed and I could therefore switch to the new channel to continue following the program being listened to. I memorized all the channels of the same program as favorites!
This version is therefore not suitable for France!
Finally this version looks a lot like "dab+" another application provided on android units like those sold by Realmedia in Germany.
I use it occasionally because much less pleasant than dab-z. The only interest, it launches an automatic scan by identifying the SID of the station being listened to when you lose the signal of a program by changing region. This allows me on the highway to avoid dangerous manipulations by launching a manual scan with dab-z...
Dab+ cuts the signal much sooner than dab-z probably due to the false "following service" displayed on the screen and the automatic scan that follows on loss of signal.
In conclusion, this version 2.0.209 does not suit me for use in France. Perhaps with the development of dab plus in France, the following service will finally be distributed by mux operators? At that time, I will probably return to a version 2.0.xxx

No, this is not the case. With DAB-Z 1.9.x the station logos often didn't appear on startup because they were attempted to be shown "too early". The shimmer effect is shown instead of a logo-less station list.
